I love the Mercury Lead Sled. This particular one was my favourite of the show. It has no varnish – just brushed metal.

A macro of a drafting pencil called a lead holder. I holds 2mm thick pieces of graphite. I like the detail in the knurled grip.
This pane is on the landing going upstairs. It is this only one with colour. This is almost like the Coat of Arms for the house. Our neighbour (the house you see) has a mirror image house and their pane is almost identical with a different centre design.

Abandoned lead works, Newcastle quayside.
Please note: exploring derelict places like this can be dangerous, explore with care and never alone.
This is the reverse of a lead token. It appears to show a hand held balance or possibly a merchants mark. If looked at the other way up, then what might be an animal is seen at the top. There are four pellets in the field with further pellets around the edge. The piece is 26mm in diameter. W. 7g.
A late 17c early 18c date is likely, the piece acting as a penny? Recorded by the Portable Antiquities Scheme under LANCUM-9BBDE1.
