I was privileged enough to be invited up to the Otalith Music Festival's lineup launch party at the Ucluelet Aquarium with Jon Middleton.
I'm really excited to head back up for this music festival at the end of August and you should come too.
I just wish I took some better pictures at the party.
For the first time in my many trips into the Refuge, I met up with the resident Owl. A beautiful creature he is! Enjoy!
Atlantis' mission will focus on storing spare hardware on the exterior of the International Space Station. The 11-day flight will include three spacewalks and the installation of two platforms to the station?s truss, or backbone. The platforms will hold spare parts to sustain station operations after the shuttles are retired. This equipment is large and can only be transported using the unique capability of the shuttle. Atlantis also will bring back a station crew member after more than two months aboard the orbiting laboratory. This is slated to be the final space shuttle crew rotation flight for the station.

Balloon launch to commemorate Richard Crosbie’s flight in 1785 from Ranelagh Gardens. The weather was perfect for pilot Tom McCormack to take off. Special permission was required from the Aviation Authority and this flight is very unlikely ever to be repeated.

While passing through Green River on my way to Idaho I read about this site on the internet. Just a few miles south of Green River Utah, there is an abandoned missile launch site that you can drive through and take pictures such as these. The site was used from 1964 to 1975 there were 244 Green River launches. Missiles were directed to the Whits Sands Missile Range during the Cold War. This is launch pad #2 with rail-roller system for rockets.
Walt and I went out to Willy Field to PM the kitchen and bathroom and we stumbled upon an LDB (long duration balloon) launch. It was really amazing.

We were lucky to get VIP tickets for the Kennedy Space Center Causeway for a splendid view!
