The windows in this launch control room are made from 45 layers of glass, stacking up to 12 inches thick. The walls stand just 400 feet from the launch pad and were poured to be 2 feet thick.

This is the point that a well known hang glider that lived in the area would launch. Netarts Bay is on the right with Netarts and Ocenside in the far distance.

INDIAN OCEAN (Sept. 10, 2021) An MV-22B Osprey, attached to Marine Medium Tilt-rotor Squadron (VMM) 165 (Reinforced), 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), takes off from the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2). Launch from SLC-40 at Cape Canaveral Space centre. Taken from a Virgin Atlantic Airbus A330-300 G-VGBR enroute from MCO to EDI. The Pilot pointed out the launch.
After looking at this launch sequence at factory levels, you may wonder what's so great about this calibrated image of the same scene. For one, notice the gradations in the smoke escaping from the rocket. You can actually make out details on the rocket's exterior.

Two different methods for creating the lithium vapor were tested to determine which configuration is best for observing various science phenomena in space.
