On Friday, April 13, 2018, Babson welcomed approximately 400 admitted students and their families to campus for our admitted student day, Launch Babson.
Virginia Sea Grant joins the Virginia Institute of Marine Science Advancement and Outreach team, the Chesapeake Bay National Estuary Research Reserve (CBNERR), and the VIMS Marine Advisory Program (MAP) for beach seining and laboratory tours with rising ninth-grade students from the Camp Launch program on Wednesday, July 24, 2019.

What has become an annual event that just keeps on keeping on, is the Auto fest Spring car Nats held in Shepparton. Here is a link to the event organisers page, autofest.com.au/.
The event has been going for over 30 years, and for many there is no better way to spend the weekend than with like-minded people, as the entrants burn rubber with an excess of horsepower, that is thankfully quite obscene : )
There was and is everything from the go to woe, handling events, drifting, and of cause burn outs! Burnouts bouncing of the rev limiting, literally hitting the red line burnouts. How much rubber do they burn, enough so I can smell it from my house nearly a mile away : ) PS the smoke signals might be cultural appropriation, so some one should bring along a Pontiac and make it officially ok : P
Jack Danniels www.jackdaniels.com/en-au has a bar, so Tennessee is represented, although in the main part, not much American iron turns up at the event in comparison to the Australian contingent and Japanese cars.
V8s are the flavor, although you might be surprised like I was this year to see a Honda S2000 turn up, a pleasant inclusion, with one of the all-time great 4 bangers in it.
Black snot is a thing, that is if you can handle the close quarters action! You might like to take some year plugs, even then for about mile you will still be able to hear the cars at it.
As a car enthusiast I enjoy the day, friendly people getting their thing on, and having a great time.
PS. Make sure you drink lots of water, and keep hydrated!

Launch of the Clinical Skills Suite at Leeds Metropolitan University, specialist facilities, which enable students studying across a range of health professions the opportunity to train using state-of-the-art equipment, are to be unveiled at Leeds Metropolitan University.
The £1 million Clinical Skills Suite will be used by students studying courses including Nursing, Physiotherapy, and Occupational Therapy and consists of a high-tech simulation suite with critical care bed, high-tech human patient simulator, a film recording system and viewing room, a community living space with a ceiling hoist and adapted equipment as well as four teaching rooms equipped for the teaching and safe practice of a range of healthcare skills.

To a packed house, MA09 Launch Night sent a strong message that the state of contemporary design in Atlanta is flourishing and maturing. The kickoff served to showcase leading and emerging Atlanta creative talent while celebrating what in the minds of many makes Atlanta a destination for thoughtful and elevated design.
Launch Night highlights included the much anticipated 2009 Architect Scale Models/ Renderings Exhibition by Atlanta studios Phobos 7, Philip Babb Architects, Dencity, Harrison Design Associates, Surber Barber Choates & Hertlein Architects, Lightroom, and Robert M. Cain Architect, just to name a few; from Italy- Zanotta's 40 Years of Sacco chair exhibit and paintings by the acclaimed Milan-based painter Marco Grassi; Atlanta-based contemporary furniture design exhibits; display of amazing sustainable wall and panel products by 3form; installations by designers and Georgia Tech professors Claudia Winegarden and Gernot Riether; contemporary children furniture exhibit by The Seed Factory, and for the first time-a Georgia Tech Industrial Design student designer exhibit.
MA09 Launch Night was attended by over 1500 lovers of contemporary architecture and design and took place in a very cool and large raw space in the mix-use White Provision development, located in Midtown West next to Star Provision.

A twilight launch of a Minotaur rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base. Picture taken from the roof of my condominium complex in Sherman Oaks, CA. The rocket carried the DARPA Streak satellite into a polar orbit. Because the launch was at twilight, the rocket was high enough to be in sunlight, while we on the ground were in darkness. Thus we were treated to a show of noctilucent clouds from the rocket's exhaust trail.

In hanger 115 at Beale AFB prior to the launch. You can tell this is the "B" model since the aft cockpit is higher than the forward one. The Instructor Pilot sits in the aft cockpit. Notice the yellow handled "Dingy Stabber" on the inside of the aft canopy. If his life raft were to accidentally inflate in flight, he would use that to "pop" it and get it out of his way. Aircraft Commander and Instructor LtCol Cunningham in the aft cockpit, Major Shul in the forward cockpit. This was one of Major Shul's initial 5 flights in the B.
