STS-119 (ISS assembly flight 15A) is the current space shuttle mission to the International Space Station (ISS) and is being flown by Space Shuttle Discovery. It will deliver and assemble the fourth starboard Integrated Truss Segment (S6), and the fourth set of solar arrays and batteries to the station. The launch took place on March 15, 2009, at 7:43 p.m. EDT.

Sunday morning, I set my alarm for 5:00AM, and dragged myself out of bed. When I arrived at the park, I was directed to park at a school a half-mile away, across the Chenango River. I found a spot on the other side of the line of trees surrounding the launch field, so I could see the balloons as they cleared the tree tops. It was a pretty good view.
