oThe Arabic Language workshop was moderated by Suzanne Talhouk. The problems that were defined were the lack of love for the Arabic language, the poor perceived image of Arabic speakers and a lack of cultural Arabic production that draws the Arab youth. To counter those issues the group proposed several solutions. A) Media campaign to raise awareness, B) leading by example through usage of the Arabic language, C) legislating laws to protect the Arabic language in schools, D) increasing Arabic content on the internet
This is the Korean class I study at every Saturday for three hours. There's a Chinese student (seen on the right), Japanese, two Canadians, and myself.

In partnership with Concordia Language Villages, we took part in a day dedicated to the many languages of Mia. We engaged in some wordplay with artists and educators from around the globe, sang songs in a new language, and played games that expanded our vocab.

tries to look "cool" with English on items but miss by just a bit.
Urmia (Turkish language: Urmu, Urmiyə, اورمیه; farsi: ارومیه) variously translitterated as Oroumiyeh, Orūmīyeh and Urūmiyeh, is a city in and the capital of West Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 577,307, with 153,570 households.
The city lies at an altitude of 1,330 m above sea level on the Shahar Chay river (City River). Urmia is the 10th most populated city in Iran. The population is mainly mainly Azerbaijanian Turkish(85-90%), with Kurdish, Assyrian Christian, and Armenian minorities.
Urmia is situated on a fertile plain called Urmia Plain, on western side of Lake Urmia; and eastern side of Turkish border and marginal range of mountains.
Urmia is the trade center for a fertile agricultural region where fruit (especially Apple and Grape) and Tobacco are grown. An important town by the 9th cent., Urmia was seized by the Seljuk Turks (1184), and later occupied a number of times by the Ottoman Turks.

VIRTLANTIS is a free resource and open community of practice for language learners and teachers in the virtual world of Second Life®. We offer free informal language learning activities for a growing number of languages including English, French, Spanish, German, Chinese, etc. All of our activities are offered free of charge by volunteer language teachers and/or native speakers.
Everyone is welcome to offer a language activity at VIRTLANTIS. We provide free resources and ongoing support. We also collaborate with and promote other language communities in Second Life.

Kevin Hirschi, the English Language Fellow in Tbilisi, Georgia, was invited to deliver a keynote speech at the 9th International Research Conference on American Studies at International Black Sea University. Fellow Kevin Hirschi presented on his
corpus linguistics study on negative language in newspaper editorials on Donald Trump, introducing the audience to the relevance of linguistic findings in the interdisciplinary sphere of American Studies.
People at this gas station don't have problems with languages, if they don't know the word in English, they combine many languages to improve their service. In Croatian, "Plin" is word for gas (not gasoline)...

The Chinatown Library is adding a new collection of more than 500 books in the Chinese Language.
An informal reception was held on February 11, 1970 from 1-3 pm.
The original book, written in English, is a collection of short stories by several authors and is edited by Denise Hamilton and published by Akashic Books in 2007. My photo appears on the French language version, also edited by Denise Hamilton and published by Asphalte Editions in 2010. The title on both books: Los Angeles Noir.
