Stewart, representatives of other Newark municipal agencies, clergy, New York Giants punter Steve Weatherford, and community members held a media briefing at the Clinton Avenue Firehouse, located at 360 Clinton Avenue, in the City’s South Ward. The media briefing was followed by a Neighborhood Community Foot Patrol.
Mr. Weatherford gave out 750 smoke detectors to Newark residents during the foot patrol. Mr. Weatherford is nationally recognized for his extensive philanthropic work with his primary outreach focused on children and families. In addition to being the spokesperson of Second Chance Toys, Steve serves as Health and Fitness Ambassador for the Boys and Girls Club of New Jersey, and head coach for Wellness in the Schools. KTVU & Wharholian story
From the Warholian story
"Fear mongering, simply intensifies the likelihood of violence. If people are made to feel that they are in eminent danger or threatened, there is a fight or flight response. Based on that principle you are guaranteed a percentage of the responses are going to be violent.” says Colla.
Colla wants to be clear, he does not blame Sarah Palin for the Arizona shootings- what he blames is her vitriolic rhetoric that have become her character trademark.
“Whether or not Palin influenced Jared Lee Loughner, is rather beside the point. Her actions and her language have been consistently hyperbolic, manipulative and irresponsible. Palin gives speeches and the crowd tends to react to the tough-talk and rhetoric, so that’s what she continues doing it… That behavior is typical of people who participate in pageantry, but that’s not leadership. In light of the past weeks events it might be a good opportunity to examine what is effective or appropriate rhetoric and what we as a society deem unacceptable.”

Legendary Chamonix
Cham' is a destination popular the world over. In the streets of this high-mountain town you'll hear languages from every corner of the globe. But the people who come to this 'summit meeting' share the same way of thinking, the same love for mountaineering, its legends and its ethics.
When you're out shopping in the town centre, wherever you are look up and you'll see 'it' there… 4,810 metres (15,781 ft) of rock, snow, ice and dreams of things to come.
Chamonix offers exceptional viewpoints, which can be reached either by use of the lifts or the hiking trails. The different panoramas are situated along the length and breadth of the valley, in the heart of the Mont-Blanc and Aiguilles Rouges mountain ranges. An extraordinary panoramic trip, accessible to all. Just a few minutes cable travel or a few hours on foot for the hardy and you will find yourselves immersed in the beauty of this majestic site.

Geographic Information Science as a science and Geoinformatics as its methodology are not focused on any particular subject domain, but rather on a perspective. As a transversal discipline, an explicitly spatial view is applied to economy, society and the environment. Across traditionally “spatial” subjects, such as planning, resource management and logistics, GIS have long been established. Others, such as the humanities, currently experience the additional benefit of a “spatial turn”. Geoinformatics today provides an increasingly integral and highly important approach far beyond the typical “geo-disciplines”, by generating added value to information and knowledge through the spatial perspective, thus enabling better decision-making processes.
GI_Forum provides a platform for dialogue among geospatial minds, creating an informed GeoInformation Society, hoping to contribute to a more just, ethical and sustainable society. Prominent keynote speakers will highlight new developments, offer visionary insights into trends and developments, and at the same time be individually accessible for our Young Researchers.
GI_Forum is organized by the University of Salzburg, under the coordination of the Department of Geoinformatics – Z_GIS and in cooperation with the Austrian Academy of Sciences, and runs concurrently with the highly regarded German language conference on Applied Geoinformatics – AGIT. The two symposia share the innovative AGIT EXPO exhibit and stimulating social Events.

Perhaps the signature structure of the Syracuse University campus, the Hall of Languages has stood here on University Hill since 1871. Its Second Empire architecture is the design of Horatio Nelson White. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 and has even been featured on some of the men's basketball team uniforms.

Irish language daily La is stashed away between Spain's El Pais and the Italian la Repubblica in Eason's in Dun Laoghaire. Ironically it's one of the few towns in old Co Dublin not to have an official name in English. Yet, it seems Irish is casually considered a foreign language here.
