It's great to see that Brighton and Hove have left these wonderful lamps on the prom, instead of replacing them with bland, modern examples. Regency Brighton - an incredible place.

WALL LAMP VII
The lamp is made of Senegalese gourd.
The pattern was inspired by fractals and foliage motives. White carvings are deeper layer of white wood which allows some light to pass through it.
At the top of the lamp is closing part locked with little magnets.
The diameter of the gourd is 26cm. The lamp is 35cm high.

There were no good CC-licensed photos of lava lamps out there, so this is for all my fellow Net hippies.
Friends in the Kanto area might want to pick this up at Ikea to be ready for those long power outages. I got mine on sale for $10 a few months ago, but it usually is $20. I leave it by the window to recharge, and it works well. I assume Ikea Japan has these as well, although they may have sold out.
Hang in there everyone.
26th October 2011 - 365_299. The light, and with it an opoortunity for today's image, was fading as cycled home through Shoreham this evening. Luckily, the lamps in the churchyard of the St. Mary de Haura are quite decorative.

Yesterday's haul. I picked this up for $4.99 at SVdP. It works great and I got a surprise when I plugged it in. On the first click, the two lights to the right come one, on the second click, both lights to the right go off and the light to the left comes on, and on the third click, all three light up. I love it!
I got another mid-century floor lamp too but haven't gotten a snap yet.
