It was one of those complete, random chance encounters, I was walking Bobby and happened upon this lamp left in the street. When I got home I grabbed my camera kit and headed back out, whilst getting mobbed by multiple mosquitoes I managed to get an LE, the light within it is from my mobile with the torch on. I recall the former owner of said lamp opening his window for a cigarette and curiously wondering what the hell I was doing with his former living room furniture.

Acetylene lamps were worn by hard rock gold miners deep undergound. Acetylene gas is produced when water from the lamp's upper level encounters the calcium carbide stored in the base via a dripping mechanism. These lamps were manufactured by the Justrite Manufacturing Company, in Chicago, Illinois.
