(This is a re-edit of a photo I had already uploaded. )

... in a rectangular 'medallion' on the ceiling in the Room of the Segnatura by Raphael. It is between the 'Justice' and 'Theology' medallions.

Sometimes called the 'Fall of Adam and Eve', the figures here include Adam & Eve, the Tree of Knowledge and a Serpent (with the torso and head of a woman). Raphael has managed to convey a more ‘knowing” look in the figure of Eve, who has already eaten the fruit of knowledge, and contrasts this with the relative relaxed innocence and trust expressed in the figure of Adam.

The gold background here are of mosaic tiles.

all other 'knowledge' is built on somewhat shaky foundations ;o)

Most of my equine photography knowledge lies in the western speed world, so when Laurel contacted me about doing a session with her and Ebony, I had a LOT of learning to do.

I spent weeks studying dressage photography - what strides photographed best, how much bend should the horse have, what a willing partner looked like. I wanted to show off the partnership that Laurel and Ebony had.

When I showed up to the barn and saw the dressage arena with pots of flowers bedecking it, I know I had to include them! We don't get a lot of color in the desert.

This photograph ended up being one of my favorite creative pieces that I created out of the bunch.

Two Chicago street magicians sharing some secret knowledge.

I popped 'em with my magical photonic flame thrower!

Lit 'em up like they was standin' in the sunshine!

Magicians have always fascinated me.

Their knowledge of the human mind is unparalleled.

That's their greatest tool.

They know the way people think.

Their slieght of hand skills are hard earned, meticulously practiced and passed down through generations.

There's magic on the street.

Our knowledge is a receding mirage in an expanding desert of ignorance.

Stack of leather bound books with gold Arabic calligraphy on their spines, found at a book stall at the Muscat Festival 2009 at Qurm. As per the comments from Spiral Architect below, these are copies of the Quran (Koran), the holy book for Muslims, in a Pakistani style. There is a "Q" and a "K" in there - I can't read calligraphic Arabic, and standard Arabic only if there's an English equivalent to help me puzzle it out :)

Edit: I'm told it reads "Al Qur'an Al Kareem". The name of the Qur'an is always written in a calligraphic style as far as I have seen and the characters all have diacritics, unlike standard written Arabic, because it's religious writing.

I've been told that the Quran, as the word of god, should never have anything stacked on top of it. I guess it's OK if it's another Quran.
