Goodness knows how this monstrosity got passed by the Bentley licensors as it is everything a Bentley shouldn't be! I have earlier examples of this casting with more tampo detailing and better colour schemes but this one which appeared in 2015 goes back to the usual Hot Wheels trick of spoiling a good model with an inappropriate colour/livery combo. The bling wheels have been used before, its the lack of any tampo detailing which gives this supposedly high end prestige car a very anonymous look. Mint and boxed.
I know that I said that we weren't going to post food pics but this one I had to. Not that it was good or bad. It just wasn't that good of an idea and I should have thought it completely through.
What you are looking at is a good idea gone wrong. I came home for lunch to make a sandwich out of the Sourdough bread I had left over. Sliced out my piece, slapped some meat, some cheese and toasted it in the broiler. After that garnished it with some spring salad mix we have in the fridge, relish (because fucking relish dawg), and some Dijon Mustard. Put the plate down to eat and well to my surprise my big ass mouth couldn't get around this bitch! LOL Also, sourdough bread? Not that soft as a sandwich. In fact, I think I practically broke my jaw just trying to eat this bad boy. Tasted good though. STUPID! fucking idea. LOL

Did you know Winston Churchill was a painter? Part of the booty from the online auction when Liz won the trunk of vinyl albums (see BlackBerry shot 63) was an old cache of postcards. One of them was this black and white of Winston Churchill painting in Câmara de Lobos, Madeira. It was 1950, the middle of his painting heyday. He is known to have said, "When I get to heaven I mean to spend a considerable portion of my first million years in painting, and so get to the bottom of the subject."
After a little research, I learned that Madeira is a Portuguese archipelago in the north Atlantic Ocean. Câmara de Lobos (Portuguese meaning "chamber of the wolves") is a city, a parish, and a municipality in the west-central southside part of Madeira. Câmara de Lobos is named after the area where sea wolves (lobos-marinhos) are found. They are the monk seals, two of which are also seen in its coat of arms.

You know... against the wind.
It wasn't a bad day but it did start with a meeting with a super rude parent. Acorns and trees and we wonder no more about where the kid gets his terrible behavior.
There is another child I'm super worried about. I can't talk about it but the situation weighs heavy on me. All the powers that be are involved but still, I just don't have a good feeling.
After work, I dragged myself out the track to meet my running partner for our usual Wednesday speed work session. I didn't feel like running in the windy weather (a storm was brewing). But as we ran and we talked, I felt better and better. Running improves my optimism.
Now, I'm peacefully listening to the rain as it pounds the skylight. Maybe it really will all be ok.
Well, if you saw the Blip Blog on Blipfoto.com at all today then you'll know why I found myself at the Edinburgh Tattoo tonight. But not just at the Tattoo. Oh no.
Chaperoned in I was ushered 'backstage' behind the walls of the Castle to see the 'Big Bla' - basically all of the bands getting ready to perform, or milling and taking in the views while having a fag and taking photos with mobile phones. The concentration, though, was intense, as soundchecks were carried out, before a load of the bands joined forces to limber up. From here, back through the esplanade as the grandstands started to fill, and up to where the VIPs live, inadvertently bumping into a partner at a law firm I used to work for occasionally, and becoming an impromptu portrait photographer.
Back down and the first hour of the show was taken in at ground level, in front of the grandstands, with nothing obscuring the view. From the dreich first entrance and shows of tartan; to Dutch military bicycle music (yes... really...). As they left the Brazilians swung (quite literally) into rhythm, only to be replaced by some brute force gun running, then some unexpected German humour with dancing; giant horns; and lederhosen.
There were motorbikes (celebrating 90 years of the Scottish branch of the British Legion I think, and, of course, big-hatted drummers.
With 25 minutes or so left it was time for a higher vantage point. And while this meant missing out on the detail of the spectacle, it meant I could play with some long shutter speeds to get the motion of the performers, and the fantastic image overlaying going on right on the surface of the Castle. So musicians filed in; while the Castle became red, white and blue; then patriotic; then rampant.
Phew.
I need to begin with what I think I know. You might have different ideas. Onions are confusing; especially those skinny green ones sold in bunches. Some call them simply green onions, some spring onions and some call them shallots which clearly they are not. I think I'm right that green onions is the best, most accurate title, that spring onions are developing bulbs and that shallots are altogether another beast. In this household they are gr'onions. It saves time and confusion.
Disappointed with supermarket gr'onions? Too limp, too much packaging, crushed with a rubber band, too many in the bunch when you need just one or two, most of them going to waste? Here's my solution: grow your own.
All you need is a container. This little garden is one of those cast off polystyrene boxes that vegetables are packed in — then just thrown away. The growing medium is a commercial potting mix; terrible stuff but we'll get onto that later.
Your gr'onions can come from almost anywhere. You could buy seedling onions, any sort will do. You could buy seeds to sow or like these collect them yourself from an onion that has flowered. The onion that flowered could be one of those disappointing ones that sprouted before you used it, planted out and left to live out a useful life instead of going to landfill. Bees love onion flowers too! Collect those seeds and you have free food.
Take those little seedlings, go on, pick them up as little bunches and swirl their roots around in water. Instantly they'll be free of their medium, free of the entanglement with their bedfellows and ready to start their new life. Pop them in with a dibbler, or a finger, don't fret about standing them up; they'll sort themselves out later. Repeat until complete and then gently water them in.
Now, as they grow you'll have a ready supply of the freshest, best green onions whether you need just one or many. You can take the whole plant or as some do, cut the tops and allow the white part to regrow. That's not my style; I like the white part too.
But, you say, aren't those mushrooms? Yes, they are, and they are here for a reason. Most commercial potting mixes are now so poorly composted, graded and mixed that they are a bit rubbish. Do not be alarmed. These little fungi are working their magic, digesting the bits and pieces in the mix and liberating the nutrients for my little green onions. They are welcome little helpers in the reduce, reuse, repurpose cycle.
I know I might have posted my love for this song before, but I couldn't resist posting it again.
It's called 'Chameleon' by Eddie Peng, and it's a very cheeky song, that really gets one grooving to the whole tune. It's my favourite out of the lot.
HEHEHE.
Anyway, excuse my horrible handwriting in Chinese no less. hahaha.
peace.
OH! & I was hoping you guys would give me some suggestions as to the next 9 photos' topics I should do... it's only 9 photos to my 200th photo here on Flickr so... Watch for Children When You Drive!
To prove the point that children know no boundaries and you need to watch out for them while driving, this guerrilla marketing campaign uses a children's soccer field outlined on the road AND the wall to portray the message.

Watch out for kids - both on the field and off. Kids don't fully understand the boundaries .

I know this looks like a nice fern glade and it is but the species is a nasty invasive, the Japanese false spleenwort. The distribution map shown in the Flora of North America is outdated. This fern is on the move and is very common in the coastal plain of the southern U.S. Unlike most invasive species, it is taking over undisturbed habitats and choking out native species. Norio knows that sometimes he has to go to the vet for kidney treatment. He was very happy and purring during his treatment and the vet and her assistant enjoyed petting him.
I know it is bad...no it is worst..lol..but I made it so I have to show it...
don't watch it bigger or on black..;)
One of the most satisfying experiences I know is fully to appreciate an individual in the same way I appreciate a sunset. When I look at a sunset...I don't find myself saying, 'Soften the orange a litle more on the right hand corner, and put a bit more purple along the base, and use a little more pink in the cloud color...' I don't try to control a sunset. I watch it with awe as it unfolds.
Unknow..
There just something about a pier at sunset that draws me….reaches me….love it…love being there….wanna go back as soon as possible..
Well it’s Friday mates…and for my Montreal friends…what they are calling for this weekend…is YUCK..(

Not very tempting to go out and shoot in those conditions.. just might go out and try it anyways…mind you Sunday it’s the NFL playoffs….so if I am crazy enough to go out. .it will definitely be before the playoffs…..and what about the Habs…we lost a hole line…3 players to injury on the same night…we have half the farm team on the roster playing this year…we are a sub par team this year…the goalie is doing his job.. we just don’t have any one to put the puck in the net….
Been to any good movies lately.. ??I saw Season of the Witch with Nicolas Cage…not that great people….probably going tonight. .I’ll let you know what I saw…

Well, we know where we're going
But we don't know where we've been
And we know what we're knowing
But we can't say what we've seen
The house below the cliff is The Old Rectory, which was built in 1850 on the site of an older farmhouse. It is now owned by the National Trust and rented out as a holiday cottage. There is reportedly a waiting list of several years as it is in such a stunning location. The raised plateau below Rhossili Down is a solifluction terrace - during warm periods through the ice age, frozen soil would melt and slip down the hill to create what we see today. To the south of the rectory, the plateau is known as the Warren. It is also the site of an ancient village. In 1980, storms exposed bones from the old graveyard and the still standing walls of the church. This led to an excavation taking place where the remains of a medieval village were found. In the late medieval period great storms caused sand to engulf the village, so it was moved to the top of the cliff where it was safe from the sand. The porch was rescued from the church before the sand covered it and was used in St Mary's Church which can still be seen today. www.nationaltrust.org.uk/holidays/wales/rhossili-old-rectory
Wreck of the 'Helvetia', Rhossili Beach, Gower
The ship was bringing a cargo of 500 tons of timber from new Brunswick to Swansea. Bad weather prevented a pilot ship leaving Swansea Bay to guide the Helvetia into the harbour and in worsening weather she was forced to sail down the channel and head for the supposed safety of Rhossili Bay. The ship managed to anchor off the N side of Worms Head but a change in wind direction blew the ship onto rocks. The coastguard managed to get across to Worms Head and fixed a rocket line to the boat, bringing one man ashore. The remaining men tried to stay with the boat but were eventually forced to come ashore in the ships rowing boat as the Helvetia began to break apart. The cargo was washed ashore, salvaged and stacked above high water. The wood was later auctioned, much of it going to the original consignees at a greatly reduced price, much would also no doubt have been picked up and re-used by locals.
The wooden skeleton of a section of the hull is still visible protruding under the sand, with differing tides occasionally revealing more of the structure.
