Field guide to distinguishing the Canon II's from the III's and IV's. Most of this information is summarized from here.
This particular model is a II-S, given the 1/500 top speed, lock on the slow speed dial, and lack of 1/45 X sync.

As some of you know I have been keenly interested in a movement, started by Jay Cross, called the unbook. I have gotten some questions about how the unbook differs from a traditional book, so I thought I would answer them here.
The driving forces behind the movement are the acceleration of business change and the inability of traditional publishing to keep up. With new technologies such as print-on-demand and online marketplaces, authors can now publish books, in both electronic and print formats, at the push of a button. The unbook, due to these factors, operates in a fundamentally different way than the traditional book.
A traditional book is released in editions. When a work is revised or updated, a new edition is released. These revised or updated editions usually offer small, incremental changes, such as a new preface or introduction, a new chapter, or small changes to the content.
An unbook is more like software:
1. An unbook is never finished, but rather continually updated, based on feedback from users andtheir evolving needs.
2. An unbook is released in versions. As in open source software, version 1.0 of an unbook is a significant milestone, indicating that it is stable and reliable enough for use by the general public. The significance of a new release is indicated by the size of the gap: For example, the difference between 1.1 and 1.1.3 is minor, while the difference between 1.1 and 2.0 is major.
3. An unbook is supported by a community of users who share their experiences and best practices with each other, and help each other troubleshoot problems encountered in their practice areas. An unbook’s community is a very real part of the unbook’s development team.
I have published an unbook, Marks and Meaning, to catalogue my continuing efforts in the field of visual thinking and information design, and to develop a user community focused on that discipline.
An unbook is mindware: software for the mind: And in the case of Marks and Meaning, my hope and intent is to develop not just software, but an operating system which improves on our current thinking models and makes our minds more useful and usable.
In the same way that graphical user interfaces (GUIs) improved the usability of computing devices, I hope, with your help, to develop a graphical operating system for the mind.
The field of information design is developing so rapidly that I believe an unbook is the only way to do this.
I believe that the unbook form has real potential, especially for emerging disciplines like information design, such as user experience design, agile software development, social media, and knowledge management, as well as established disciplines which are undergoing significant change (finance? government?).
To support these efforts, Jay and I have set up a website to support the unbook movement and provide a comprehensive catalogue of available titles. Please take a moment to visit theunbook.com/ and leave us a note! And if you are working on an unbook or plan to start one, let us know so we can add it to the uncatalogue.

One way to get to know someone is to get acquainted with their favorites. During my visit with David, I was able to get a triple dose. The first was the chance to meet his favorite people--Lynne, his sweet, sweet wife and his son, David, and girlfriend Megan. And where did I meet them? At David's home where I was able to see the new addition to the home--an open, airy space where he works on his photos and posts his feedback to Flickr friends--and the garden that he carefully tends. Truly, it is a life-giving space and I was so blessed to be so warmly welcomed into the family. We had a couple evenings of processing photos together. One night we all went out to dinner together at a local Carvery. My favorite time together was the night we watched the semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent together and cheering on Pudsey the pup. It was a taste of England that I will always cherish.
Saturday morning, we were up pretty early to give us all the time we needed to visit David's favorite places to photograph. And what a treat to have someone share their favorite haunts. It turned out that he took me to the "England" that had lived in my memory sense I first read Black Beauty, Lassie Come Home, and Peter Rabbit. All throughout our day, I kept feeling as though someone should pinch me just to make sure everything I was seeing was real. I guess it must have as I have photographic evidence. Here's a sampling of photos from Beacon's Fell and Chipping. Tomorrow, I post photos of the Trough of Bowland.

FlatEarth meme collected by A.J. Wilson of iPressThis at FlatEarth.Online, made by others.
“You know the world is going crazy when the best rapper is a white guy, the best golfer is a black guy, the tallest guy in the NBA is Chinese, the Swiss hold the America's Cup, France is accusing the U.S. of arrogance, Germany doesn't want to go to war, and the three most powerful men in America are named "Bush", "Dick", and "Colin." Need I say more?”

I loved the texture of these windows, surrounded by street art and slogans...including GOD KNOWS down in the bottom right.
The look on my face is one of astonishment determination and also the painful longing to make a run for it. But I'm both excited and ready for the new office/studio to be done. Even though I know it's going to take a few weeks.
I've hooked up a power source, and bought a portable ac fan system. Plus thrown a mountain of trash out and donated about 3 overflowing bags of old clothes and misc stuff to Goodwill.
I still need a new drafting/painting desk.
A chair or stool(s) of sorts.
A few more plastic bins for storage purposes.
A takamine acoustic guitar...G series or better... :)
And tons of canvas/ misc surfaces to paint sculpt around...
Now taking donations of all kinds!
"Know Your World" is an event, put on by the International Fellows each year, in which each nation displays the life-style and culture of their given heritage.
I know you
We've been here before
No surprises
A settled score
I know the darkness
From inside
Reckless rage
And poisoned pride
..they all do, I guess.
This stone reminded me of Lou Reed's song, "Dime Store Mystery", which he wrote about Andy Warhol's death. Here are the lyrics..
"He was lying banged and battered, skewered and bleeding
talking crippled on the Cross
Was his mind reeling and heaving hallucinating
fleeing what a loss
The things he hadn't touched or kissed his senses
slowly stripped away
Not like Buddha not like Vishnu
life wouldn't rise through him again
I find it easy to believe
That he might question his beliefs
The beginning of the Last Temptation
Dime Story Mystery
The duality of nature, Godly nature,
human nature splits the soul
Fully human, fully divine and divided
the great immortal soul
Split into pieces, whirling pieces, opposites
attract
From the front, the side, the back
the mind itself attacks
I know the feeling, I know it from before
Descartes through Hegel belief is never sure
Dime Store Mystery, Last Temptation
I was sitting drumming thinking thumping pondering
the Mysteries of Life
Outside the city shrieking screaming whispering
the Mysteries of Life
There's a funeral tomorrow
at St. Patrick's the bells will ring for you
Ah, what must you have been thinking
when you realized the time had come for you
I wish I hadn't thrown away my time
on so much Human and so much less Divine
The end of the Last Temptation
The end of a Dime Store Mystery..."
I know that I had a BALL, I didn't even pass out, I made it through all 5 fights and the rounds, punches, kicks and knocks into the cage.
But my son and his friends had a BETTER time than I did. Ahhhh this is what it's about, I got LOTS of hugs tonight and they wanna go BACK...
I am so IRRITATED with myself because the belt winner was in my face and posed and my camera WOULDNT FIRE... I am sooo NOT HAPPY.

We know things have been pretty quiet lately, so brace yourselves for a long post..
As you all know by now we had to cancel our planned tour this summer because of some scheduling conflicts and, again, we're sorry and bummed about it.
That being said, we've decided to take this time to write some more songs - a lot more..
As a band and as musicians, we've all wanted to write/release a full length album for some time, so we've decided to use this time of not being on the road to write a full length (and now that we're all extra sad since we can't tour we have some inspiration).
Writing and recording a full length album costs significantly more than a shorter release, but being the DIY band we are, we have no intentions of asking for handouts. If you'd like to help out though, pick up some merch and/or just post about us etc.
Thank you for being so supportive - it really means the world to us!
We'll keep you all updated throughout the writing process.

I know that many of you have waited for my interactive, I even got some mails in direct. Well, I passed couple stages in this challenge - from denial to acceptance 😄😄. It's all because I made so many interactive cards this year, not some person made in a life ♀️. That's all me. On the other hand, I can't live long without interactive cards, it's my way to realize some of my semi-insane ideas and vision of cardmaking ♀️.This is card for 2017 Superstar Card Contest from @mftstamps 💜 for the Innovation Master category using. You all know how I like complex, layered constructions (can nothing to do with me). Exactly this idea I nurtured for a long time and only now it finally formed. In the first comment under this post I will describe all tools and MFT sets, I've used making this card. The idea is: on the first layer kids reading about astronaut and imagine him (window in the middle); second layer - cosmos and main hero with friends; third layer - coming back on Earth. Circle window can move up\down, left\right. Also astronaut move up\down. 1st and 3rd layers - toning with inks, 2nd - watercolor. Also the 1st and 2nd layers can be interchanged. Shortly, multifunctional card, just like I adore - unique and inimitably 😄. To know your future, you must know your past,
each stepping stone that has been cast.
Remember the good, as well as the bad,
and feel the emotions of happy and sad.
When remembering the past, you really don't know,
how much you will learn or if you will grow.
You can only judge, by looking back,
surmise how you feel; do you feel on track?
To know your future, you must be aware,
observe your surroundings and always care.
You must be wary, but also believe,
you must be willing to let go and receive.
Focus your mind along with your soul,
this will help to attain all your goals.
But also be willing to sacrifice time,
to develop your senses; refine your mind.
And if you can do this, as sure as may be,
your future is visible for you to see.
For a shift within, where visions appear,
are combined with voices that you can hear.
To know your future, you must learn from your past,
if you want to provide well-being at last.
The future depends on how well you learn,
to observe mistakes and how to discern.
And once you have reached a higher ground,
just stop to rest and survey around.
You will know your future, as clear as glass,
once you forgive and heal from your past.
USG's chapter of Students Engaged in Public Health (SEIPH) partnered with our Office of Student Services to host "Know Your Numbers: Reduce Your Risk for Stroke," a USG Civic Engagement Event which took place on April 1, 2015.
"Know Your Numbers" served to raise awareness and promote prevention of stroke and hypertension (high blood pressure), which are very serious health issues in the United States.
The event featured an expert panel, information booths, and free blood pressure screenings. Panelists included Dr. Ulder Tillman of the Montgomery County Health Department, Dr. Rebecca Fitch of Kaiser Permanente, and Susan Emery and Tammy Shepherd from Circle of Rights, Inc. Representatives from the American Heart Association, Community Clinic Inc., Salisbury University's Exercise Science program, the UMB School of Pharmacy, and the UMD School of Public Health were also on hand to provide information for attendees.

Great Service. Great Value. Highly Recommend
Our garage door spring snapped, leaving our garage door half-open. I called several local vendors to get pricing. While others put me in voicemail, Tom answered the phone right away. His price was substantially less than anyone in town. While he did not have the part in stock, he drove to Puyallup the same day, picked up the spring, and came to my home within hours. Instead of just giving me the spring, he installed it for me in a matter of minutes, made the adjustments, and had it working again in no time. Tom was not only very knowledgeable, he was very personable, and made me feel like I was his best customer. In addition to garage doors, we also talked about replacing our front entry door, hollow-core interior doors, and trim. Tom is very service oriented, conscientious, and provides outstanding value. His company name is catchy-too. I would highly recommend I Know a Guy Garage Doors.

A diabetic patient must take care of his diet. He should eat only foods that prevent diabetes. Moreover; a regular exercise is also good for him. Instead of this, also avoid oily as well as junk food and drink lots of water. In addition to it, always take medicine as per the recommendation of a doctor.
