Make a wish and blow...and let the dandelion carry it through the wind

-----------------------------------------

As you can see I change Kisa's wig, I love so much her with this short curly hair, what do you think about it?

Also I want to thank to my boyfriend for help me blowing dandelions for the photo. Thank you so much dear ^__^

They say it will get warmer this week, but I kinda like being a fashion model!

Your friend, Duncan

“There’s a saying that goes, ‘People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.' OK. How about, ‘Nobody should throw stones’? That’s crappy behaviour. My policy is, ‘No stone throwing regardless of housing situation.’”

—Demetri Martin

OK, obviously this isn’t a house. It’s an igloo lounge where you can sit and rest if you want to get out of the cold. Anyway, I found the quotation above, and I thought it fit. :)

Waiting for breakfast at the Lime Kiln Cafe, Roche Harbor, WA. October is a good time to stay at the marina there - not too crowded. I didn't know the woman, but she had a very nice hat. I almost never take shots of people - I don’t enjoy having my picture taken so am reluctant to photo others. But if they aren’t identifiable, it’s ok, right? :-)

Aki and Kisa enjoy their spring taking long rides on the bike, during the ride Aki loves playing with butterflies that draw near <3

I was eager to get them out again in a picture, aww I love my sisters so much ♥ I hope you like it!,

Today is my birthday! I have a perfect day planned. I'm hoping my kids are well so that I can follow through with everything.

I love this cozy image from a recent newborn session. And love his name: Liam.

EXPLORE #2 and FRONT PAGE 1.13.11

Thanks so much for the kind words and birthday wishes. It truly has been a great day.

Here's a shot that I was so excited about taking. Why, you ask?

This shot was taken @ the Eielson Visitor's Center in Denali NP during a snowfall in August. Having snow in Denali during August is not unheard of, but we hadn't ever gotten any previously - usually either right before us or right after us. While it was snowing the day not so much fun for photography, but when we were looking around and I saw this snowman.... well, lets just say I got a bit excited. My new friend... he looked cold... so I placed my hat on him and started posing with him and taking pictures.

I think that most of the others around witnessing this probably thought I was crazy, but hey, I'm from Florida and allowed to behave this way! (mind you it's not like I've never seen snow before though - LOL)

Got to make the most of what you find along the way!

I'm sharing this with everyone as I prepare to travel out to Utah and surrounding areas for some skiing and, of course, photography. Hope to get some good shots to share when I return. Maybe even a better snowman. I'll catch up when I return.

Iðunn came in from the cold bringing me a birthday 'cake' :D

it's my birthday, i'm 29 now :)

making a wish, blowing out the candle, weeee!

~Explore #143~ Thanks so much for loving this photo as much as I do! :) XX

He's my little model. I adore taking photos of this guy. He picked up a Fisher Price camera (my 3 year old's) and started taking pictures and making a clicking noise. Guess he's into it too :) I just loved this picture. Something about that intense stare--almost like he was posing for me.

Me: Look what just came in the mail!

Duncan: For me? Lemme try it on.

Me: No, it's a human hat, with a dog ON it. Not for you.

Duncan: I think it's MINE. Lemme try it on.

Me: Really? ok. But it's not for dogs to wear, you'll look silly.

Duncan: ME! Put it on ME. (1 minute later). Wait, that's what I look like? Nooooo... And don't show this to my friends.

Me: Sigh. um. ok.

~Explore #7?!! (Never been in the top 10 before--Wow?@!)~ THANKS so much everyone.

My shoot from last week. This was babe's position before I propped him up on his arms *see photo below. I like this one too, but obviously the other shot steal's the show. All natural light here. Large window camera left (3 feet) and skylight facing baby (6 feet away). I like how he has his hand on his other arm..and how he was using his chub for a pillow :) He is lying on a crib sized mattress that I can move around depending on lighting angle desired. I have a boppy pillow placed on top of the mattress where he is posed, and then the backdrop sheet is hung on a portable rolling clothes hanger behind him and over the mattress/boppy. The sheet (cotton vanilla waffle motif) is held in place by 2 large clips. It is approx 3 feet wide by 10 feet long. The nice thing about the mattress is that it can be moved around to find the best lighting angle without waking baby. I also have a large beanbag, but for this position (on tummy) I find a flat surface with a slight tilt much better (and roomier). Small rolled receiving blankets can be used to adjust angle afterwards. The receiving blankets are just stuffed under the backdrop sheet as needed. I used a white noise machine and cranked up room heat also. Hope that helps someone. Hat from Etsy.. www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=24363536

Another from the birthday shoot collaboration with my mom. I like this one because, like my mom said, it has a 20's vibe, hence the title (also because I'm in my 20's- 24 to be exact).

I had one kid shoot Sunday and I have one today that I'm leaving for soon so hopefully there will be some good ones to post later!

~Explore #276~ Thanks everyone for the great comments. I'm very happy that this shot was inspiring for some :) I'm always happy to hear it has helped!

FUN FUN FUN...I'm going to roll with these bright colors for a few more pictures. I really need the spirit boost with all of this winter and cold all around me. This photo was taken on a different day from the awake shot posted earlier this week. I bought the box specifically with this photo in mind--and with the alternative use as a toy box for my older son's room. The box is really big and spacious. I had pillows and blankets stuffed in there. He was on a soft dreamy pillow, and comfy-cozy with his Etsy hat! I might post a set up shot later too.

I was relooking through my shoot from a few weeks ago. Completely passed by this one. It is now one of my favorites.

My little ray of sunshine. I seriously love this face more than words can say. It is amazing how quickly you can fall so in love with someone...To think 12.5 months ago I didn't even know him. Hat from BitOWhimsy store on Etsy.

Can't resist these shots---loving the newborn posing practice (with an older baby). Trying some new tricks with folding the feet. Also a neat desaturation trick to give an old hat a new look. I used the selective color saturation channels for just yellow and cyan to give the hat a more babyish feel than the deeper colors of the original hat (orig hat seen farther down he stream). He is sleeping on a boppy pillow so his knees and legs go a bit deeper into the center and give a flat look to his body while head remains a bit raised. He stayed sleeping like this for nearly 2 hours. I was bored (and out of memory card), lol!

Another sleeping shot...I got a bunch from yesterday (and some awake too). I'll probabally post this series tomorrow also. The hat is an Etsy find (seen on Shuttermomof3's blog)! I love this little hat. It is so soft and the knit pattern is just gorgeous. Flickrmail me if you want the contact for the knitter :) Since this hat was for an older baby-11 months, she was kind enough to add on a few stitches for me! Very personal service.

This was my first Fair Isle hat. I am really pleased with how it turned out. My tension was too tight, but it evened out well after blocking. blogged
