Desi style Kachumbar Salad we often enjoy with daal chawal or just plain daal.
My Kind of Kachumbar Salad :
~ 1 firm tomato finely chopped.
~ 1 small red onion chopped.
~ 1/2 seedless cucumber finely diced.
~ Pinch of salt.
~ 1/2 tsp roasted ground cumin seeds.
~ 1tbs lemon juice.
~ Fresh coriander/cilantro leaves finely chopped.
~ 1 finely chopped green chili for spicy version ;)
Mix all the ingredients well together except salt, lemon juice and ground cumin seeds. Leave it for sometime, when you are ready to serve add salt, cumin seeds, lemon juice and enjoy. You can always add fresh mango in summer time. Add everything double or as required for big servings.
View On White So far a very sobering and disconcerting book. Illustrates the power of a pandemic as the affected humanity spreads the infection at the speed of travel by any means in their quest for salvation. World leadership takes all the necessary steps to protect the citizenry--of course.
My first posting in a long stretch. There is light at the end of the tunnel--finally! :-)
If anything led to changes in my life from working in the coastal areas of Louisiana and Texas for twenty years, it was my appreciation for RICE. Yes, many virtues it has. One being that rice does not spoil on a boat, whereas potatos rot and oh my, that smell is so much like electrolysis, the smell of rotting decomposing METAL, like through-hull fittings that keep the OCEAN out! I knew that smell, and knew what it meant.
So when I found this lovely illustrated plastic bag of rice, I chose it for the bag. I came to love South Louisiana bayou country.
Now I see that the clear bag appears to have rice in it....and I failed to note my Silestone countertop in pattern 'Stellar Snow', looked like rice after a fashion. This particular rice was processed in Crowley, Louisiana, in the bayou country, Acadian country, of Louisiana.
I bought it for the bag. I wish they sold it in a fabric printed bag.
Scents, touches, sounds, snatches of songs brush us, pass us, give us delightful shocks.
Then peradventure there's a flash of lightning: whomever I see that instant I fall in love with.

This was not supposed to be a diptych, I just took the wrong view of a shot, then decided I want to put the 2 together in a continuous line. Unfortunately, they were taken at different angles, so meh.
I have ugly long toes. To please ignore them.
Meet Ulysses, a stunning Maine Coon mix who clearly knows he's the master of this household. Those piercing yellow-green eyes stare directly into the camera with an intensity that's both regal and slightly judgmental—classic cat energy at its finest.
His tabby markings are beautifully defined, with the characteristic "M" pattern on his forehead and dramatic striping that extends down his face. That luxurious white chest ruff and fluffy coat are quintessential Maine Coon traits, giving him an almost lion-like appearance as he poses confidently on what appears to be a kitchen counter or table.
The domestic setting—wooden cabinets, everyday kitchen items, hardwood floors—provides the perfect contrast to Ulysses's wild, majestic appearance. He's perched with one white paw forward, tail curved around his body, looking every bit like he's holding court in his personal palace. The slightly soft focus and warm lighting give the portrait an almost professional quality, though the casual home environment keeps it charmingly authentic.
Maine Coon mixes are known for their impressive size, sociable personalities, and those distinctive tufted ears that Ulysses shows off so well. This is clearly a cat who demands respect, affection, and probably treats—in that order.
Hey, if Angelita thinks this is a comfortable bed, then it's a comfortable bed.
This is a re-do of a shot I posted five years ago. In the original image, the surface on which the bowl was resting was cluttered, and I did a very amateurish job of trying to clone away the clutter. This time I took the easy way out: I photographed a nice new surface and slid the bowl and Angelita through Photoshop Elements and over on to the new surface.

I had to sneak up on the counters without my Mama seeing me! But I stood on my toes, 'cause who wants FEET on their kitchen counters? Ewwwwwwww!
That's my friend, Poppin' Fresh behind me! He's my collector cookie jar from 1988! Hard to believe he's close to 20 years old. I bought him brand new in '88... old friend! Hmmm, he's looking a little too happy from his vantage point!
After three weeks of fever, coughing and nose blowing, food is starting to taste good again.

If we should mistakenly put something on the counter, he was quick to knock it off...he trained us well..

I was asked, and requested Paella for Christmas dinner. L had never made it before. It did not disappoint, in fact, she nailed it. I can hardly wait for the next iteration.

Intimacy, 2010–2016
When someone says “intimacy” or “intimate relationships”, most people would think of sex. Although sexual relationships of any sort may or may not be present, intimacy is based primarily on trust. For many years I photographed young women and did not understand what I was looking for. Neither did they ever articulate that. Were they interested in love or friendship or other relationships? I am not sure any of us understood and none of us asked. Now I believe they were looking for intimacy. They sought for time structured with taking photos and our conversations about everything. They undressed physically and mentally to the degree they trusted me. And so did I. Some of those relationships ended with pain. Some were quick and nice. Some still continue.
This was how my kitchen spotlight caught this pretty weed in a Mexican shot glass just after midnight last night.
Photo of the day January 13, 2022 - An orange my wife had sitting on the kitchen counter this evening.
my friend wanted pictures in her Halloween Old Fashion Barber's outfit.
She's missing some pieces, including the moustache, but it's still a cool outfit.
And yes for the inside ones we used construction lights :-P It got hot!

Continued from the image posted earlier and repeated in comments, these stems came while pruning the plants in my balcony where i have a few pots that make my green space.
Did not feel like throwing them away, hence put them into shot glasses with water.
The middle one - holy basil - guzzles water ; the water disappeared fast and had to be replenished every morning, while the other - the name of which i do not know yet (gifted by a friend) keeps water well.
The arrangement stayed very well for three weeks . I felt in the hot summer of Delhi wherein flowers wilt fast, these little green pops around the home especially living room is worth the effort.
For Thanksgiving dinner, my wife made homemade crescent rolls. Here the rolling pin is sitting on some partially flattened dough.
I have always enjoyed the smell of coffee brewing. My Mom drank coffee, my grandmother and my wife also drinks coffee. I have tried it many times and just can not acquire a taste for coffee. I wanted to participate in this week's Flickr Friday so I set up sort of a still life with coffee items we have in the house.
