The lady on the upper floor is cleaning the staircase. But I think with this kind of ventilation it is hard to keep it clean. Terrible proof of decay.
lunch break at Brighton Beach - (we didn't eat here in Keep Out) - we ate at an Uzbeck restaurant. Good, but not ideal. (the chicken was raw)
The WWII Memorial has about a dozen of these signs. They have an elegant design, but they're still stupid. "Please Respect the Memorial; Keep Out of Pool Area." I guess they had to call it a pool "area" because otherwise it sounds like a swimming pool. But this is a design issue that should have been addressed before the memorial was built. I personally like the idea of people wading in pools - even memorials - but if you're against it then build that into your design. Don't build a pool that invites people to dip in and then barricade it with annoying signs!

I really liked the sign in front of the missile silo on the previous photo. I don't know exactly what drew me to making this particular shot with the focusing i did, but I'm happy with the results. I hope the noir processing doesn't take away from it. I think it adds, but that's me.
... and carry on. A good idea in the DC/Virginia area this afternoon - and in fact, what most people seem to be doing. Was a wild time downtown though where a friend and I were visiting the Hirshhorn when the earthquake hit.
Keep Calm and Carry On was a poster produced by the British government in 1939, intended to boost the morale of the English in the event of an invasion by the Germans. This is another of the reflection shots I worked on the other day.
And so easy to let them go away?
People may say it's hard to let go, but that's the easiest part. You get sad, but you always get over it. And everytime, you simply "forget".
For how long can we keep forgetting? There will be a time when your whole life will be just a huge blurred memory trying to be forgotten.
