Stockdale Mill
According to local sources:
"The expression, "Keep your Nose to the Grindstone" came from the miller, who's responsibility it was to ensure that the mill stones were stopped when they got too hot from the friction. If not, they would catch on fire and the building would go up like a power keg."
This mill was originaly a Grist Mill and later became a Feed Mill & Co-Op in it's final years. It was responsible for grinding farmers' grain into flour.
It operated from 1880 - 1972. It now serves as a bistro, art gallery and museum.
Stockdale, Ontario
Mental Health Facility founded in January of 1825 and opened in July of 1828.
The site was used for sterilization of those deemed inadequate to reproduce. Some of those sterilized include the mentally handicapped, feeble minded or uneducated peoples, blacks, poor, Native Americans, drunks, etc. Between 8,000 and 9,000 Virginians were sterilized the late 1920's and 1979. This practice of eugenics was, after quite a long period of time, eventually made illegal in the state of Virginia. However, it's lasting impact on the community was surely well noticed at the time. The building, along with a separate campus for adolescents now sits abandoned.
Sometimes when I'm in places like this I wonder around aimlessly in different buildings. I sit in silence and I imagine what the place looked like when it was up and running. And then I wonder what it would like to be a patient there. So sad.

In line with standard practice Dublin Bus 'AV168' is held at Fennor Cross to await nine more buses, which will follow as soon as they are loaded (less than five minutes).
To facilitate the smooth flow of traffic on the bus only corridor the N2 is one way on this portion just south of Slane village. Buses are loaded in batches of ten. Once loading is complete the batch of ten are escorted away by Garda outriders and safely along the narrow roads held exclusively for buses and emergency vehicles. This circular route re-joins the N2 at McGrudders cross where the buses and the outriders part company. The buses safely away to the south toward Dublin, and the outriders come back for more. The whole operation is slick, and on June 15th into June 16th 2013, 72 full double decks were dispatched in 68 minutes.

There are many things I'd say, but I think quoting that wonderful character of Mycroft Holmes would be much funnier.

Especially in the BJD world.
If you find yourself unable to customize your own dolls without copying other people's work, then why don't you just take a pause and think about the reasons that still keep you into this hobby?
What's the point of owning the surrugate of someone else's doll?
What satisfaction would you get?

In fondo, siamo tutti alla disperata ricerca della felicità, non è forse così?
Ci sono tante cose che potrei dire, ma penso che quotare (in parte) quel meraviglioso personaggio di Mycroft Holmes sia sufficiente: L'affetto La creatività non è un vantaggio.
Specialmente nel mondo delle BJD.
Se non si riesce a customizzare le proprie bambole da soli, senza dover copiare spudoratamente il lavoro altrui, allora perché non prendersi una pausa e riflettere sulle motivazioni che vi spingono a portare avanti questo hobby?
Cosa c'è di bello nel possedere il surrogato della bambola di un'altra persona?
Che soddisfazione riuscite a trarne?
Davvero una gran delusione, ragazzi.
May 8, 2013 was Jerusalem Day and to celebrate, United with Israel hit the streets along with the names of over 100,000 supporters who have signed the Jerusalem Declaration! The signers of the Declaration agree that Jerusalem must remain the undivided capital of Israel, which was declared by the modern day State of Israel and heralded by King David over 3000 years ago.
As the crowds began arriving in the Old City along with the proud marchers waving their flags, we too proudly hung our banner on the millenia-old Jerusalem walls. We placed the names of the signers on our banner so they could be a part of the event! If you look closely, you might just see YOUR name!
This grebe was nesting very close to the visitor centre and therefore on constant alert for the many ducks and geese swimming nearby.
