Today Doc, a German Shepherd with Separation Anxiety, arrived for ten days of training. It took a lot of attention and energy to get him settled this morning, so I was pretty worn out. I love having another dog in for sketching, though, and I'll probably be doing a lot of him in the next week.

Journal made from double sided cardstock with numerous pages, including some that pull out. Includes many removable tags. Lots of spots to journal on! Binding handsewn with baker's twine.

A spring walk through Middlesex Fells in Winchester MA, on a beautiful New England spring day. Guided by Roland "Boot" Boutwell, we wandered around looking at Lady Slipper Orchids; Indian Soap bush and gypsy catipillers making tents in trees.

Technique: No fusing! raw edge green fabrics onto a base fabric, then cut out and sewn onto background fabric. Held in place while I sewed.

Some times I miss the tactile joy of typing on a real typewriter. To hear the tap, tap, tap of the keys and the ca-ching of the carriage return as you move down to sheet of paper.

Took my journal camping with me last July. We went to an open air firing range. Mostly we were firing .22 pistols and rifles. I couldn't resist. I had everyone who shot at it sign it.

Great inspirational class

What AM I hiding? Journal spill. I love the look of the printed word over the written word.

This is my first ROTD journal. For the cover I used a canvas fabric and left over pieces of red, black and denim fabric. Lots of stitching and embroidering.

For the three signatures, I used scrapbookpaper, pages of my old study books, a 1948 cookbook, envelopes and more.
