starting my journal page :D

I've been trying to do sketches of my kids in my journal. I've had a hard time motivating myself to write often, but now I really look forward to it.

These are drawn loosely and quickly, I try not to spend much time on them so, some of them do look a little rough. Also, they've gotten a little more refined and the character styles a little more consistent.

This is what a whole page looks like.

And, yes, I stole this idea from Chris Ware as noted in Danny Gregory's 'An Illustrated Life'.

I swapped with squidtrick on the www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=71931.0.

journal pages made on a trip to new york. dinner with Matt Owens and a trip to Chinatown.

This is my first ROTD journal. For the cover I used a canvas fabric and left over pieces of red, black and denim fabric. Lots of stitching and embroidering.

For the three signatures, I used scrapbookpaper, pages of my old study books, a 1948 cookbook, envelopes and more.

A journal for my holiday to Paxos, one of the smaller of the Greek Islands, being just 3 x 7 miles!

When doing the mosaic journal I thought it would be fun to try it in fabric. My first attempt was semi transparent so I went to layer and decided to do a basic weave. I still have to put bookbinding on it but its all decoupaged up otherwise.
