I've been trying to do sketches of my kids in my journal. I've had a hard time motivating myself to write often, but now I really look forward to it.
These are drawn loosely and quickly, I try not to spend much time on them so, some of them do look a little rough. Also, they've gotten a little more refined and the character styles a little more consistent.
This is what a whole page looks like.
And, yes, I stole this idea from Chris Ware as noted in Danny Gregory's 'An Illustrated Life'.

journaling like this is new for me, but I've been enjoying it. now I've started working on collage sheets that can be added into journaling (or scrapbooking, cards, stickers, etc.), and I really like the possibilities...
this has been fascinating me for the past week, a package arrived for me full of 6 years of hand bound copied personal journals. the writers name has been redacted from every entry as well as most last names. if you are out there reading this, im enjoying the amazing gesture and thanks for the journals!

This is my first ROTD journal. For the cover I used a canvas fabric and left over pieces of red, black and denim fabric. Lots of stitching and embroidering.
For the three signatures, I used scrapbookpaper, pages of my old study books, a 1948 cookbook, envelopes and more.

When doing the mosaic journal I thought it would be fun to try it in fabric. My first attempt was semi transparent so I went to layer and decided to do a basic weave. I still have to put bookbinding on it but its all decoupaged up otherwise.
