Was for my uni theme journal (my theme was gradation) but I ended up throwing this page out and doing something else. I used gouache paint for the branches :)
This was a real challenge, with lots of having to re-do, and I'd love some constructive criticism.

A response to the question "Why art journal?". Blogged about here: kristalnorton.com/art-journaling-101-why-art-journal/
My first Remains of the Day Journal front cover. My traditional quilt background heavily influenced me but the shabby chic is calling me. Maybe my next one will be more spontaneous. I'm happy just the same.
Art Journal page from today
So the page was a 2 part inspiration. Journal Spilling by D. Trout, and Ruth Ann over at paperartistsonline.
I already had the background done in one of my art journal signatures--basically sewing pattern paper, acrylic paints & stamps.
I altered the pic of me (taken by my 4 year old) and my own paper tape to hold it down. Wrote out script with Pitt pen. Gessoed and area for journaling then rubbed black StazOn around the edges.
Stamps by Club Scrap & Oxford Impressions
Not my best work. I was in a mood more inclined to constructive thought than criticism and humor, but I tried. Plus, there are some things I can always be critical of.

I have kept a journal for my photography class for the past three years. Each entry is it's own, atleast i try to make it that way. Just an array of picutres i've taken and things that have inspired me in that time. Here is a taste:
Personally, i think this is kind of boring. The image was sitting on my computer because it was apart of my breath so "what the hell". Anyway, blah blah. I just like the colors.
