Now, in the online journal making class Carla sews paper pages to the spine of the journal. I tweeked it a little, and instead of pages, I sewed a band/sleeve so that I could slip a legal pad through. This way when the legal pad is full, I just reuse the journal over and over again.

Some journals that I made pretty for some very special little girls christmas presents.

I have FINALLY found the journal I love! I found fantastic paper for dry AND wet media, cut it down, and had the whole thing re-bound. The cover's a combination of a magazine picture, pain, rub ons, gel pens, a stamp, and loose, quirky handwritting

I used some of the giant leaves to make my background for my journal page. These leaves were great fun.

If writing journals makes me a writer, then I am one for sure.

It´s not an easy process for me to write, since I have no idea what will come out on the page.

I may have an idea of what I want to share, but many times the writing makes an U- turn.

Somehow I want to make writing a part of my new life/creative career.

There - I said it.

The WORD is out.

The Aspen Institute Economic Opportunities Program hosted a Working in America event, "What’s in Store: The Future of Work in Retail,” at the Aspen Institute offices in Washington, DC, on November 17, 2017. Panelists at the event – including Walmart’s Ellie Bertani, National Employment Law Project’s Tsedeye Gebreselassie, Logan Hardware’s Gina Schaefer, Cornerstone Capital Group’s Sebastian Vanderzeil, and The Wall Street Journal’s Greg Ip – discussed how changes in the retail industry are shaping the way businesses sell, consumers shop, and employees work.
