Hi there! Here's a journal page I created using the prompts from oneyearartjournal.blogspot.com
You can find more pics and a page in progress video on my blog:

Thanks for having a look!
some art journal pages from February 2013. Blogged about here: www.gingerblue.com/art-journals-late-february-2013/
A cool journal I bought a long time ago in Carbondale. It's got that cool cotton paper.
With a Goodkind "Triggerwood" pen. It has gold trim and blue ink, and I won it on a bet.
I often embellish the covers of store-bought journals to personalize them. This is a journal I kept in 2009.
This is my journal (visual diary, sketchbook). It is a coptic bound book 7" x 6" and has BFK Rives paper. It is covered in paste paper I made myself, and I glues a little padlock on so I know which is the front.. Some of the pages have been prepped with a wash of acrylic, and some not.
My travel journals are made from recycled bookboard from discarded books, maps from out-of-date atlases, and reclaimed computer paper. Very ecofriendly!
The journal is pretty much completed. I'm left with a couple of prompts that just aren't inspiring me so it's time to send it home.

Inside pages, haven't started working in it yet - just got done making it in Mary Ann Moss' "Full Tilt Boogie" class

Few things more boring than a screen shot of an Excel spreadsheet, but I didn't bring the cam to yesterday's race, again a 20 mile 2.2mile circuit race in Branchbrook.
My race report.
Very Brief Version: Schmalz's Suck Level = 4
Brief Version: I felt good after the race. Finished 15-20th out of maybe 60 starters. Didn't have to work too hard, caught my HR in zone 2 (!) a couple of times at 29mph! The beauty of a big pack. Avoided a crash, which always makes me happy, felt more confident in "the" corner.
Last week was a much needed recovery week from my hardest training week to date, which ended with a killer ride on Sunday. I met up with some cat 3s from the club and we set off on the famed Orchard ride, which is known for some big hills. It was like motorpacing. I think I pulled maybe 4 times in 70 miles, but I managed to hang on. Didn't really recover from that until about 4 days later.
Base 3 starts next week with increased hours, more hill climbing and some threshold work. First club race should be Saturday. Last one cancelled for removal of the gates.
My journal was created to replicate the game "Barrel of Monkeys".
Often when contemplating design ideas and solutions I feel as if I have a bunch of monkeys going all directions in my brain so this is a very good representation of me and my thought processes! :P
I began by sculpting the barrel on the front and back covers. Once I had them sculpted I then baked the entire book for about 20 minutes in the oven at about 250 degrees. Then I sculpted the monkey and baked him as well.
Once these had cooled I painted them. After the paint dried I sealed them with an acrylic sealer.
I was concerned about the monkey being on the front. I thought it may come off easily so I drilled a couple of holes into the cover of the journal and the back of the monkey in order to insert pegs and epoxy. This really fastened him in place and made him a permanent part of the cover.
The front and back inside cover of the journal is cork board where I can pin small notes, pictures, or ideas that i'd like to keep.
Digital art journal page I made in Jessica Sprague class.

Dogfish Head - 9% ABV "Handcrafted Ancient Ale." - The bottle read "barley, honey, white muscat grapes & saffron". The story on how this Ale was created is pretty spectacular, and that combined with the muscat grapes and saffron totally lured me in. Although it is technically an a 9% ABV ale, it really reminded me of a German style lager with it's crispness and drinkability . I wasn't able to pick up the subtle hints on the flavors as I had hoped I would be able to. Overall this wasn't a beer I'd be interested in getting again real soon, although that is not a knock on the beer itself.
