A previous journal was finished before the next journal was ready for use. So I had to quickly make a new journal to haul me over from the old one to the new one. I called it the In Between Journal.

When I first started to knit I began keeping a knitting journal to track the different yarns I used and notes about the patterns I was working on. It's been a great resource to look back on, kind of like a knitting scrapbook!
This is actually the first page I did after reading Susanb1964's tutorial on her journal pages. I like it, but I think I got a little too exuberant with the white.
Poppy loves her journal. It is her daily diary.

I bought Wreck This Journal to try to inspire my creativity a bit. I'll scan and post the pages as I finish them.
Still practicing my nature journaling sketches. Thought I would try drawing some of the plants in our garden. The French Lavender was starting to bloom, and the sprigs and flowers smell lovely. I may have to gather a bunch.
Sakura Micron pen and colored pencils.
My finished 2008 journal cover...here's my word for 2008. I've got a page for each month. Now to get started on January. :)
this is the very first art journal page i did in my moleskine. used gesso and pastels, stamps, a small metal bee.

I was inspired to make this journal after looking at the many detailed biological illustrations that appeared in the journals in the library where I used to work. This particular fish appears in the 1921 volume of the Fisheries Bulletin.
The journal is hardcover, measures 4 1/2" x 6" and contains approximately 180 blank pages of acid free sketch paper. I hand cut and bound the text block and constructed the cover myself. The gold endbands are hand-sewn and the end pages are green handmade paper with silver stamping.

If you are wonder what is all this about? Take a look this really cool project started by a lady in German. I was so proud and honored to be invited to be part of this 12-country origin project circulating each others' journal in between 12 of us, representing and "expressing" our own in 12 different journals.

I actually had a lot of fun with this page! It reminded me of when I was in English class at school.

Watercolor pencils and Pitt superfine pen. This little walking path winds through the fields and then up a gentle hill. Since this was sketched outside in a hurry the form of the trees leaves a lot to be desired. But I think the sketch does capture the feel of sun casting cool shadows in the snow on a day made for walking.
