It was cool in the living room last night, and I had a fan on, also. Jimmy Dean bundled himself up nice and cozy, but kept his nose out. He has really got that bundling down to an art after 5 years of doing it.

Took this a while back really like the eyes.

I attended the “It takes a Village” Exhibition I thought it was very appropriate for the month of February since it was Black History Month. There were so many pieces of art that I believed were very meaningful and stayed true to the theme of community and coming together. In this showcase there were 9 artists featured; Betye Saar, Lezley Saar, Alison Saar, Wyatt Kenneth Coleman, Richard S. Chow, Lisa Bartleson ,Scott Yoell, Jane Szabo, Rebecca Campbell. Each of these artists featured in this exhibition explore the characteristics of a community. Betye, Alison, and Lezley Saar’s work was very cool to me because they made sorts of statues. What I liked was that their pieces told a story and were meaningful. Lancaster resident, Wyatt Kenneth Coleman chronicles the importance of engagement and oral history and the role it plays emphasizing the value of serving one’s community and family. The pictures of people helping each other just gives the viewer of the artwork a sense of unity. Jane Szabo featured art that was memorabilia of moments with family. In a way she's sharing stories of her life. I like how she used childhood possessions because she's sharing parts of herself in her work. My favorite work was Richard S. Chows Distant Memories exhibition because I liked all the pictures that were shown, they gave a different outlook to places I had been to in California, like the Santa Monica Pier.

This is the best of beauty – it's bitter out there, but I'm not. Good treads for ice, play nice with the slippery surface, and bury my hands in my pockets. There's white on everything, the powdered passion of a storm that never stops passing. Crashing, maybe rattling in my mind. Lines called ruts that haven't widened since the days of Irish Town. That's up here, somewhere, a few piles of rocks forgotten for all who never lived. I'm deep down a sleeping Clairmont Road, over the mountain to the nearest nowhere. Exactly in the middle, everything is silent.

This is a photograph from the finish of the 36th Michael Manning Memorial "Dunshaughlin 10KM" Road Race and Fun Run which took place in Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath, Ireland on Saturday 20th June 2015 at 19:30. This race is widely acknowledged within the Irish running community as one of the best races in Ireland. While being very well attended and competitive it is also one of the oldest 10KM races in Ireland. The numbers for this race have exceeded expectations year on year for the past number of years. In 2008 a record field of 306 took to the start line but by 2012 this number had more than doubled with 647 runners taking part. The starting numbers in 2013 topped this again at 668. Last year, 2014, the numbers rocketed to a new record of 883. This year 862 finished the race showing that the race continues to attract very substantial crowds. This year, as in previous years, the race attracted runners from not just all of Leinster but from the four corners of Ireland. Who knows but this race could reach 1,000 entrants next year? The work of the organising committee must be commended on making this event possible. The Dunshaughlin 10KM has earned it's place at the top of the pedestal of Irish running through the sheer hard work of Dunshaughlin AC over the years. Road race events do not survive on their own. There must be dedication, hard work and a development vision amongst the committee and the host club. Well done to all.

We have an extensive set of photographs from the race tonight taken at the 9KM mark and at 400M to go. The full set is available at: www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/sets/72157654823417232

BUT..... Wait there a minute....

We take these photographs as a hobby and as a contribution to the running community in Ireland. We do not charge for our photographs. Our only "cost" is that we request that if you are using these images: (1) on social media sites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter,LinkedIn, Google+, VK.com, Vine, Meetup, Tagged, Ask.fm,etc or (2) other websites, blogs, web multimedia, commercial/promotional material that you must provide a link back to our Flickr page to attribute us or acknowledge us as the original photographers.

This also extends to the use of these images for Facebook profile pictures. In these cases please make a separate wall or blog post with a link to our Flickr page. If you do not know how this should be done for Facebook or other social media please email us and we will be happy to help suggest how to link to us.

I want to download these pictures to my computer or device?

You can download this photographic image here directly to your computer or device. This version is the low resolution web-quality image. How to download will vary slight from device to device and from browser to browser. Have a look for a down-arrow symbol or the link to 'View/Download' all sizes. When you click on either of these you will be presented with the option to download the image. Remember just doing a right-click and "save target as" will not work on Flickr.

I want get full resolution, print-quality, copies of these photographs?

If you just need these photographs for online usage then they can be used directly once you respect their Creative Commons license and provide a link back to our Flickr set if you use them. For offline usage and printing all of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available free, at no cost, at full image resolution.

I would like to contribute something for your photograph(s)?

Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers or in other circumstances we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.

Let's get a bit technical: We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs

We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?

The explaination is very simple.

Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.

ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.

Above all what Creative Commons aims to do is to encourage creative sharing. See some examples of Creative Commons photographs on Flickr: www.flickr.com/creativecommons/

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

Don't like your photograph here?

That's OK! We understand!

If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.

I want to tell people about these great photographs!

Great! Thank you! The best link to spread the word around is probably http://www.flickr.com/peterm7/sets

While we were driving through the semi arid plains of Wyoming inside the Wind River indian reservation, we pulled over for a short break. Along the road there were the typical mail boxes of the people living in the neighbourhood of the highway. While we were enjoying the view, a resident stopped to check her mailbox and we had a short chat. They lived a mile of the highway near a river that is coming down from the mountains of the Teton range. It almost never rains. Shopping can be done 35 miles to the east in Lander or 40 miles to the west in Dubois.

I had a go too: it was great low down, as in the first pic, but it was quite unpleasant higher up. Quite a shock, as you can see!

NO substitute for the real thing, and as it has digital controls almost certain to go wrong as soon as the warranty runs out.

At least if your masseur dies on the job (so to speak), the money already spent is not wasted.

We've had some strange weather recently. Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day, but then suddenly the clouds turned grey and within minutes it rained. Then it was sunny again. Today it's cool and grey. Who knows what tomorrow will bring ... this is England after all. :)

Listen here, just like the ride.

It's a world of laughter

A world of tears

It's a world of hopes

And a world of fears

There's so much that we share

That it's time we're aware

It's a small world after all

There is just one moon

And one golden sun

And a smile means

Friendship to ev'ryone

Though the mountains divide

And the oceans are wide

It's a small world after all

It's a small world after all

It's a small world after all

It's a small world after all

It's a small, small world

Australia Day 2010. What better way to spend it but to go to Cronulla. Notorious for it's over zealous populous showing off it's Aussie Pride. The local council is trying to "smarten up" the image of Cronulla so a free opera concert was put on. As you can see here... not everyone appreciated it!

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Vincent

Mark Vincent was the lad singing and WHAT A VOICE! But to later come home and Google him was what shocked me... he is only 16! That's insane! To be that young and have a voice like that. I think Australia may have a gem of a talent here and if he's not careful... he'll be a World Sensation!

...and this little guy I spotted hopping around the flower bed today would know, as he was shortly chased down by my three-year-old son. Around this time of year, we spot lots of frogs near the house. This one is small, just larger than a quarter. The leaf he is sitting on was very low and I had to lie flat on my stomach on the driveway to get this shot. Technically, this shot is a macro although it may not look like it. I couldn't get much closer as he was easily startled and hopped when I got too close.

It was very calming lying there looking at him. Down that low, zoomed in that closely, it just looks like a whole other world, a very green and peaceful world. It could be some quiet, sun-dappled jungle somewhere. The truth is that this is right next to our driveway. I marked the exact spot with a note on this photo of our house.

Flying home to my friend's wedding reception I was aboard the plane looking at those inflight magazines.

Next thing you know I see these pictures, so I read the article and it was interesting. For some reason it was really interesting..

I don't know if it was looking at the picture themselves, the composition, the black and white, the cyanotype... I don't know but this article sits at my desk constantly drawing the attention of my eyes.

But!!!

I'm guilty of it: tearing articles out of magazines... for the sake of photography.

it was last Sunday i made an omelet

as u can see i burned it a lil but still i was able to do the flip move with it :p!!!
