After work, I wanted to head back to the arch for the nearly full moon. This is my first real attempt at a long exposure at night by full moon. No filters were used, and the waves were washing around my boots and tripod. Believe it or not, I wanted two more minutes of exposure, but at the 10:16 mark, the tripod was knocked back a bit by the waves, and I immediately ended the exposure. I was happy that the 5-8 seconds the camera moved didn't affect the image that much.

LIMNI - ΛΙΜΝΗ (December 20th, 2014)

Limni, on the island of Evia, is a small port, beach and tourist resort, which is beautiful the whole year round. It is located 80 km NW of Chalkida and about 150 km from Athens.

The island of Evia lies along the Eastern coast of Central Greece, and is accessible to the mainland via two bridges, an old wooden bridge and a contemporary suspension bridge. There are also frequent ferries to several parts of the island. It is 175 km long and is the second largest island in Greece, and the third largest in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Taken on the weekend of December 20-21, 2014 while my English wife Theresa Jane Brown and I were visiting friends.

Yep, you guessed. She plopped herself down on my lap and sat so calmly and still I was able to macro her fluffy tail. x

My entry for the Bio-Cup 2019 preliminary round.

Today it was 78 degrees fahrenheit in San Diego, California with not a cloud in the sky. And tonight I sat outside with some friends around an outdoor fire trying to spot some forecasted meteor showers in the clear atmospheric sky... but alas poor snowman in his glass globe is still waiting for a morsel of snow.

It was a pleasure to spend this morning with the Siskin, they really are great little feisty characters and be sad to see them go as they are mostly winter visitors.

...for those of you that feel like you're dealt a lemon on Monday. A must view in the large size to get the full pucker effect :-)

Good morning, even to those of you that hate Monday. Dread it actually. For some it even ruins their Sunday worrying that the next day is yet another Monday. And so soon. Makes a good case for a mandatory three day weekend, which unfortunately is not going to happen. But look at it another way...the alternative is worse.

Take care...and I hope everone has a great day in spite of it being Lemonday.

I know that this may not be the most intriguing shot in the world, but there was something about it that caught my eye! This is the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh, which I had previously photographed at night (see comments). I shot this from the exact same spot as my upload two posts ago, just turned 180 degress around!

Thank you for all the well wishes in regards to the wedding I filmed yesterday, it went great! I actually got a lot of pictures as well, and it was such a great time!

Hope you all enjoyed your weekends!!! I'll be catching up on your streams Monday night!

I don't mind invitations, but please no big, shiny, flashing, glitter graphics, they will be deleted. Also, please contact me if you would like to use my pictures for any reason, as all rights are reserved. Thanks!

I've shot very few photos in "normal" mode on my PN2011, but so glad I did with this one [but I can't remember if I did so diliberately!]

Yes I know I am obsessed with wedding dresses almost to the point they are taking over my house.

Actually I just wasn't feeling great last night and so I thought hell why not.

I have just got an amazing dress today from a charity shop and cant wait to get some photos wearing it

for a while, but if you keep throwing it in, then it wants to turn upside down, and float some more.

With this past January making this winter seem like it would be a repeat of last year's, my hopes for shooting many snow scenes and plow trains weren't high. The month of February has brought on Winter's arrival to New England with a vengeance, and I was pleased to finally shoot a plow for the first time since the winter of 2015. Here, a Keolis Plow Extra heads west through Wakefield, MA, approaching Melrose with the MBTA's two double-track Russel plows bracketing GP40 3247. The plow is doubling back to Fells Interlocking, about 3 miles west of here, in order to take care of both tracks before heading east once again, this time all the way to Plaistow, NH.

Thought he was going to keep it upright but sadly not!

It was dark in the woods with the sun at a low angle, this little one stopped and looked back at me just as the sun burst through, it was the only trickle of light in this bit of woodland.

Another children's programme from Matt's era is Brum! We actually saw Brum when we stayed on holiday in Bourton-on-the-Water, where he was living in a motor museum! Sadly I don't have any photos on Flickr, as I took them on a film camera!

Brum is a British children's television series about the adventures of a radio controlled car of the same name across the city of Birmingham. It is produced by Ragdoll Productions for HIT Entertainment and was first broadcast in 1991. It was initially directed, written and produced by Anne Wood, latterly directed and written by Vic Finch, Paul Leather, Emma Lindley, Morgan Hall, Brian Simmons, Nigel P. Harris and others. It was initially narrated by Toyah Willcox and later by Tom Wright and Sarah Wichall. The show was first aired on Children's BBC on BBC One (later on CBeebies) and also aired in the United States on Discovery Kids as part of the Ready Set Learn kids block on the channel that lasted from 1996 to 2010. The show has also aired on ABC, ABC1 and ABC2 in Australia.

The actors in Brum do not speak; mime and off-screen narration help propel the story. For this reason, it has been easy to prepare episodes for airing in other countries and Brum has been broadcast in many parts of the world and in many languages, including English, Italian, Dutch, Hebrew, Croatian, Arabic, Norwegian, German, Spanish, Chinese, Danish, Finnish, Swedish, Welsh, Polish, Portuguese, Thai, French, Hungarian, Catalan, Bulgarian and Japanese.

Each episode of Brum begins and ends in the same way - with Brum, sitting amongst the cars in a motor museum. When the museum owner's back is turned, he comes to life and heads out to go exploring in the "Big Town", but always returns to the museum at the end of each episode. The opening sequence and closing sequence was filmed at the Cotswold Motoring Museum in Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire, England. The model car used in filming is kept on display there when not in use.

The F314 Stiletto is a Viper class starfighter designed to evoke an earlier time when dog-fighting aircraft from sovereign nations flew in formation against each other and dropped romantic conventional weapons such as Vulcan cannons and Daisy Cutter bombs. Available either in a retro camo-green, desert camouflage or a classic two tone light blue grey.

My last VV of the season – yes, there are Chima parts/colours here – and you can buy them all in a month. I get to build a little earlier, let's call it a perk of the job!

This Gulf Fritillary was seen feeding on a Zinnia Blossom in the Herb Garden at the Huntington Library & Botanical Gardens, San Marino CA,

According to Ingmar Bergman, the Hour of the Wolf is "the hour between night and dawn. It is the hour when most people die, when sleep is deepest, when nightmares are more real. It is the hour when the sleepless are haunted by their deepest fear, when ghosts and demons are most powerful."

This watch was among my father's effects when he died. I changed the time myself for the photo, so there's nothing supernatural about it.
