My mom's irises look so beautiful this year. She would have loved them.

This iris was from a group as you can see

This is an Iris I cross-pollinated, named for my wife Dawn. It is a cross between a purple iris and a chocolate iris. Oh, this is the first bloom and there are two more to come! From A Place in My Garden

Just a very short morning walk in the neighborhood...

unknown Iris hybrid cultivar, Seattle, WA, Apr 1994.

Anyone know the name?

My neighbor thinned her iris bed out last May and gave me some of the plants that she dug up. What a simple yet wonderful gift. I am enjoying them immensely!

Oh, get ready... it's the time of year when I will have my camera deep in the genitalia of every bloom in my path.

I don't care how typical, how pedestrian, how 'geez, another flower close-up"... I love them, I love taking them and I will not make excuses for posting them. Winter was too damned long and I am going to celebrate every blossom I can capture.

So there.

Spring has come to my garden

'Babbling Brook' is a really lovely shade of blue, but I think it's the lemon yellow beard that really makes it work.
