In the past week, I've seen several other people upload beautiful photos of these tiny clumps of iris growing on the high trail near the sensory garden. I took this photo early Sunday morning. It was dark, gray and threatening rain. I used my other camera which has a detached flash on a cord, on which I tried my plastic cup diffuser. Mar 28, 2010 L1090119.dng

An early blooming species iris with a good fragrance. Can be found across most of the United States in gardens and cemeteries.

Bearded Yellow Iris

My mother planted some Iris' last year and they took off this spring. These things are about 4 feet tall, huge flowers.

I got a couple of shots with my new ND filters so that I could get some dark colors and small focal range.

The ND's are going to be awesome for waterfall shots, I can see it already.

This is a Tetraploid X Diploid cross, that is pod fertile.

I think Persona, with it's Astrachina genes must be tetra compatible!

Another storm came through and my back yard is loving it.

Variety unknown to me. Maybe a Siberian? An older lady gave me several of these last year. They are happy and healthy!

A painting with a story

this painting took almost ten years to complete! Today, I found this half finish watercolor in one of my watercolor pads: I started it when I was visiting my friend Michael when he was living in Boulder, Colorado IN 2004 but for some reason never finish it till today.
