The photo was taken by Olympus pen E-P3 with Ai Nikkor 35mm f/2.0 when I took a stroll in my neighbourhood.

I am irritated at so slow response of flickr after changed to new looks. Visibility has been improved a lot but quick response have been lost. I really hope flickr to improve the response time.

Thank you for viewing and have a wonderful Friday.

A large, deep purple iris.

First Iris of the season

love the intricacies of the Iris

The bulb that produced this iris down by the pond was planted at least 15 years ago by the woman who used to live in my cottage.

Iris's in my front yard

This unusual Japanese Iris is full of detail and beauty. It was taken in my sister-in-laws spectacular garden.

Chacun de nous ignore la couleur de l'iris de presque tous ses amis. L'oeil est regard : il n'est oeil que pour l'oculiste et pour le peintre.

A pond flower that propagates through floating seeds, lives natively in Québec woods and throughout North America.

Good old reliable Iris from the neighbourhood.

Some lovely iris.

the early irises have been very good this year

Talk about cheering me up when I'm sick. I hadn't seen one of these for years. I was under the impression all the purple ones had died, leaving nothing but yellow irises. Then, out of nowhere this guy made an appearance today!! I grabbed the camera to get a few quick shots before the rain. What a wonderful discovery! :)

My wife & I went to the Univ of Ct today to get some ice cream (some of the best around). On the way out a thunderstorm was brewing & we noticed these unbelievable irises. Had to rush these shots , had a huge downpour with hail within minutes.

Purple mountain majisty iris taken from my front yard here at the towers.

another Iris I like lots .. from Mary in New Brunswick

~Alfred, Lord Tennyson

I took this picture yesterday in Duke Gardens in North Carolina. This is a beautiful time of year in this area as it seems as if everything is in bloom.

Strobist info: I lit this with one YN560 in an 8.6 inch Lastolite softbox, which was hand held, camera right. The flash was in manual mode, and was triggered by a Yongnuo RF-603N. I used a manual exposure on the camera that let the background go fairly dark so that most of the light on the flower was from the flash.

Other plants, flowers, fruit or thingys that I've photographed using strobes can be seen in my Strobe Lit Plant set. In the description for that set, I list resources that I've used to learn how to light with off camera flash. www.flickr.com/photos/9422
