An uber delicious Breckenridge 471 double hopped IPA at Bar Divani, downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan.
big flavorful "double trouble " ipa from san francisco's 21st amendment pub. this bitter and tasty brew will be entered for medals at GABF, i hear.
good luck!
I'm pretty sure I find it yummy. Or it could be the 9.5% alcohol talking...
No. It's yummy.
....and full of booze. And the ceramic, re-corkable (ha-ha! as if...) bottle is super frickin' cool.
How can you go wrong?

The malts come through and complement the hops nicely and for 11% the alcohol is hardly noticeable. Full bodied mouthfeel with very light carbonation, very smooth. Good IPA that I would definitely have again.
Really, really good stuff. A very drinkable, smooth IPA. It's another great IPA that would be good for those that are interested in trying an IPA.
It's hoppy while not being over the top, and is filtered, so it's a real smooth drink.
Three thumbs up....

I thought I'd celebrate Ted Stevens' 85th birthday - and defeat - with a bottle of Alaskan IPA.
It's a fine IPA with a hoppy taste that's not too overpowering.
To be honest, I'll sort of miss Ted, so I thought I'd close out with a quote from the internet genius himself: "I just the other day got, an internet was sent by my staff at 10 o'clock in the morning on Friday and I just got it yesterday. Why?
Because it got tangled up with all these things going on the internet commercially...
They want to deliver vast amounts of information over the internet. And again, the internet is not something you just dump something on. It's not a truck.
It's a series of tubes."

It was brewery night, and you could get the collectors glass... er, mason jar... when you bought a Lagunitas. I had their best beer last, in the glass: Lagunitas IPA. Very tasty.

Saint Petersburg (Russian: Санкт-Петербу́рг, tr. Sankt-Peterburg; IPA: [ˈsankt pʲɪtʲɪrˈburk]) is Russia's second-largest city after Moscow, with five million inhabitants in 2012,[9] and an important Russian port on the Baltic Sea. It is politically incorporated as a federal subject (a federal city). Situated on the Neva River, at the head of the Gulf of Finland on the Baltic Sea, it was founded by Tsar Peter the Great on May 27 [O.S. 16] 1703. In 1914, the name was changed from Saint Petersburg to Petrograd (Russian: Петрогра́д; IPA: [pʲɪtrɐˈgrat]), in 1924 to Leningrad (Russian: Ленингра́д; IPA: [lʲɪnʲɪnˈgrat]), and in 1991 back to Saint Petersburg. Between 1713 and 1728 and in 1732–1918, Saint Petersburg was the capital of imperial Russia. In 1918, the central government bodies moved to Moscow.[10]

OK, I don't really like IPA beers, but I'm sometimes drawn to their sharp aftertaste and hops. Smuttynose IPA, brewed in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, is probably the best IPA that I've tried.
This is a pretty big flavored IPA. The bottle says on it “Life is uncertain. Don’t sip.” But I couldn’t imagine pounding a beer like this; it’s just not that drinkable. Don’t get me wrong I’m really enjoying it and if I were to build an IPA blind taste test it would certainly be on the list. It’s IBU rating is 72.41 (why doesn’t everyone publicize this number?) leave it to me to be in a bitter mood during a hop shortage. But, it’s a really nice beer, I’m glad I picked it up.

Pours a beautiful amber, smells great, nice legs although a little thin, it has a nice lingering bitterness that’s not over-powering and warms the back pockets of your mouth a bit.
Will someone buy this beer and compare notes with me in the comments? Is that person you, but your still sitting at the computer and not going to the store…. Come on go to the store, there’s beer there and that’s really what you want… you don’t want to read about beer on the interwebs you want to drink beer AND read the interwebs.

This stuff has me a bit confused. According to my friend Wikipedia, "IPA is an ale that is light amber to copper in color, medium to medium-high alcohol by volume, with hoppy, bitter and sometimes malty flavor. IPA is a style of beer that is usually included in the broader category of pale ale."
This is not a bad beer, just a bad IPA. It's more like a slightly hoppy porter. It's heavy on the malts, with a boozy aftertaste (despite being fairly low in alcohol content).
Try it if you like porters and other malty brews, but don't expect it to taste like a real IPA.

I had a few of these the other day on the deck at Produce Row, a funky little bar in SE Portland.
I'll have to ask Bryce what it was.
Whatever it was, it was delicious. A nice, hoppy IPA with lemony hints - and a high alcohol content.
Of course, I didn't realize how tilted the table was... or was that me?
Multiple hops collide in balanced perfection, dominating the senses, achieving total satisfaction. From the Pacific Northwest, birthplace of the modern IPA, comes a beer whose name says it all
Stone - Ruination IPA 8.2% ABV. They've upped the ABV on this to 8.2%. Its a hop assault of the best kind. If your a hop head then this is close to perfection, 100+ IBU. 9/10.
A dark, malty IPA. I don't think it has a high alcohol content, but the combination of hops and malt make it seem somewhat boozy tasting.
You should try this if you like complex, malty IPA's.
Ah hell, you should try it anyway!

Strobist: SB-800 beneath the beer (which was placed on an opaque plastic container) pointed straight up and set at 105mm at 1/1..
"Doing it right since 2014", it says on the label. Certianly seems good so far to me. A modern classic IPA. Brewed in Manchester, bought at High Peak Beers in Stockport.
A decent, hoppy IPA. I guess I just can't get beyond how bad Magic Hat's "Number 9" beer is. For some reason, that really impaired my ability to objectively rate this beer. I wonder what I would have thought if it had been a blind test?
I used my brand-new, $9 reverse coupler to reverse-mount my 50mm lens in order to use it for macro shots.
Strobist: SB-600 and SB-800 on either side. The SB-600 was shot through a Lightsphere at 1/2. The SB-800 was shot through a white umbrella, at 1/32.
A bottle of IPA from AleSmith Brewing Company in San Diego, California.
This 7,25% abv India Pale Ale poured a hazy golden color with a tiny white head. Aroma was very hoppy with some grass notes. Flavor was bitter with a resinous finish. A bit one-dimensial in my mouth, some floral or citrus hops would have improved the overall impression. But this bottle may have been a bit old.
