A bottle of Centennial IPA from Founders Brewing Company in Portland, Maine, at Novare Res Bier Cafe also in Portland, ME.

Founders Centennial is a 7.2% abv, 62 IBU India Pale Ale. It poured a clear golden color with a small white head. Massive hoppy aroma, citrus and pine, with some sweet malt. Smooth mouthfeel and medium heavy body. Flavor starts out with a nice caramel malt, followed by a huge Centennial hop flavor; citrus and pine. Nice, long bitter finish. An excellent IPA!

a very nice mellow IPA. Mellow with just a hint of a hoppy nip at the tastebuds. Yum!

Another good "local" IPA.

Hoptimization capacitors activated. Taste probe functions optimal. Aroma sensors in overdrive. Engage. Let this otherworldly IPA abduct the hell out of your senses. The gravitational pull of Hop Circle will have you searching the galaxy for another close encounter of the thirst kind. Resistance is futile.

Belgian IPA [Hybrid] (ABV 6%) (IBU 50)

[Suggested Glassware: Tulip Glass]

Rating: 3.2/5.0

Aroma: 6/10

Appearance: 4/5

Taste: 7/10

Palate: 3/5

Overall: 14/20

The pour was a murky straw yellow with an average (1-2 finger) white creamy head that was mostly lasting, reducing to a thin puddled film and medium collar with excellent sheets of lacing.

The aroma was of a light grain malt, resin and citrus hops and a sweaty Belgian yeast with a note of citrus (grapefruit and orange peel) and a bit of coriander.

The taste was lightly sweet and fruity with just a touch of spice early on, progressing with a nice citrusy hoppy taste, along with a strong grainy yeast presence and a citrus peel bite towards the finish. The flavor hung around for a good long time following the swallow with the bitter citrus peel taste fading ever so slowly off the taste buds.

Mouthfeel was a couple steps beyond light in body with a dry, creamy texture and a medium carbonation.

Overall this was a tasty and well balanced brew with a pleasing spicy citrus favor and a nice creamy drinkability...

Dogfish Head. The first of five US micros sent by ericschoon. This one accompanied the soccer game on Saturday. The game didn't end in our favor so luckily we had these beer. We tried two, three to go. This was a very interesting and good IPA. Strong - 9% - and IBU of 90, but that didn't actually seem that bitter due to the heavy body, and high sweetness (or was that the alcohol?).

This may appear to be really organized and responsible of me. It is not. I only have to know a few of these (the ones we use in English), but I thought the chart looked cool and was interesting. So I copied it out.

I am really inventive when trying to find something to distract me from doing the work I am supposed to be doing.

Things I find most interesting:

white paper creates glare. I mean, it makes sense, but surprised me at the same time.

the symbol that is like a backwards C. Some english speakers use it, others do not. Pronounce Don and Dawn-- if you pronounce these differently, you use it.

The sounds that I cannot even imagine the sound of.

I really like the Shwa (the upside-down e in the middle). It is like the lazy vowel. (it sounds like "uh")

The label of the Ægir IPA tells the story of Ægir, a jötunn and a king of the sea in Norse mythology. He was also known for brewing beer for the Norse Gods, which is the reason the brewery took this name.

A bottle of the 6% abv Sacred Cow IPA from brewery Arbor Brewing Company Pub & Eatery, located in Ann Arbor, Mi. This brewery has been making decent beers since 1995 and their Sacred Cow is a good American style IPA with lots of fresh hops.

Our very first batch of Boneshaker was brewed for a local IPA challenge. Our brewers poured copious amounts of hops into the brew, balanced it out with over 5 different malts, decided to leave it unfiltered it and allowed to naturally carbonate. The result? A truly unique taste experience and an award winning IPA! Expect fresh grapefruit & pine aromas followed by massive hop flavours!

From Untappd:

"The Corruption™ IPA is DC Brau's take on a Pacific Northwest IPA. Brewed with Pale 2 row, C-10, Honey and Victory malts. Exclusively hopped with 40 lbs of Columbus hops per brew to ring in at 80 IBU."The Corruption" comes in at 6.5% ABV. This beer straddle's the line between IPA and Imperial IPA and has a supportive malty backbone with an assertive hop presence that smacks your mouth with a dank, resinous bitterness followed by pleasant aroma's of pine sap and burnt spruce."

Another fine IPA from the folks at Rogue Brewery.

A golden hoppy beer with a strong, bitter taste. An almost creamy, classic American IPA!
