Red Hook's mass produced IPA. Not sure if I have tried this before, but it definitely is a poor attempt at this style. The only thing really good about this beer is the beautiful orange-amber color it has. The aroma isn't anywhere near where it is supposed to be and while the flavor is bitter and hopped up it is a biting harsh bitterness that is not complimentary at all and a lame finish.
Red Hook has certainly gone down the tubes in terms of quality over the years. Sad.
6th March 2012 - Eurofighter Typhoon's FGR.4 C/N BS031/131/IPA6 ZJ938 and Spains IPA 4 C.16-20 / 11-91 go out on a sortie.
Like the waters of Lost Lake, this Unfiltered India Pale Ale is refreshing and with a real bite. This Northwest style IPA is bold and hoppy with 75 IBUs and 6.8% ABV. But this is a complex drop too, with fruity notes of grapefruit and passion fruit. For extra body and mouthfeel, Lost Lake IPA is naturally carbonated and unfiltered.
Harpoon IPA. A tasty IPA that's available most anywhere (in the northeast, at least).
Strobist: SB-600 directly underneath the bottle, with a diffuser cap on at 1/128. SB-800 about three feet away, set at 105mm and pointed straight at the label at 1/64.
A deliciously strong IPA. It is, as they say, double of everything, so the double hops are countered by the double malts, resulting in a delicious and strong American IPA.
Strobist: SB-800 behind and below beer at 1/16. Shot through glass and bounced off a foam core white background.

An 8% abv very hoppy beer (125 ebu). An excelent balanced IPA. Brewery Viven in Sijsele, Belgium. Belgian brewers start slowly to recognize IPA's as an interesting beer style. That's why there are only a few IPA brands in Belgium.
I normally like IPAs, but I guess I just have to be in the mood. And nothing goes better with pizza and hot wings than beer! What a yummy combo for a Friday night! I have heard of Red Hook beer; however, have not seen this stuff before. It was good, but not a favorite. I did buy a 6-pack (because I had to) so I may learn to like it more... we'll see.
Just on the safe side of overwhelming, but not by much; I'd probably prefer it a bit less bitter.
6.3% ABV
Country of origin: USA
Taste: hoppy.

A IPA da Greene King tem boas notas de madeira e lúpulo no aroma.
Cor castanho escuro, cristalina.
Espuma é discreta com permanecia mediana.
No sabor o lúpulo e madeira e alguma coisa que me lembrou cozido, não consegui identificar com clareza;
Para uma Indian Pale Ale faltou corpo e um amargor mais caracterÃstico, para uma cerveja da escola inglesa decepciona um pouco, falta personalidade .
Apesar de não ser uma cerveja ruim, também não traz nada de mais.
As drunk at the Duke Of Edinburgh at Newgale Pembrokeshire Wales. A nice easy drinking 3.6% IPA. Just right for the car driver which alas I was. A long standing brewery in Wales brewing real ale through the dark days of the so-called 70s 'keg revolution', I have a soft spot for their Double Dragon. I must say their dragon on their clips seems to have morphed from the Welsh red dragon into the ones from Game Of Thrones or is that just me ? The other beer on sale is not even going to feature in my photograph so outraged was I to find Doom Bar on sale here. The other beer was off and that was Sharp's Sea Fury. Not bad and far better than the ubiquitous Doom Bar but there are so many great new Welsh breweries so stick one of those on.
Snake Dog IPA, a fine beer from the folks at Flying Dog Brewery in Denver. It's much smoother than one would expect. I figured that I was in for an intense, over-the-top hoppy experience from the Ralph Steadman drawing on the label and was a bit disappointed with the lack of bite. Don't get me wrong, it's a fine IPA, I just had a different expectation based entirely upon the label.
Frankly, it would probably be the perfect beer to accompany two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, laughers, screamers...
Strobist: SB-600 and SB-800 on camera-right and camera-left, both fired through a white umbrella at 1/4.
Another choice brew from Great Divide. My picture is kinda crappy... not sure what is up with that lighting.
Appearance: Rich amber color with some light bubbles rising to the top. Nice creamy head that dissipates but is always present with a slight film. Leaves very nice lacing on the glass.
Smell: Floral bouquet, sweet, very aromatic as is common with IPA's.
Taste: This is very tasty. I would rate this is a medium on my bitter scale. It has some awesome hoppiness with some clear almost banana flavor and other fruits. There is also a nice sweetness to it that finishes up after the intial hop assault. Nice complex taste, balanced very well.
Mouthfeel: Nice carbonation and a pleasant overall feel. Much in line with other IPAs.
Drinkability: Yeah, these go down nice. This one was my only one left from my sixer but the others were nice in groups of two. Not too much alcohol... just right I'd say for an IPA. I would recommend this for any fan of IPAs and Great Divide. Excellent for sure. I would buy this again and definitely will try it on tap if I see it. Found it at CM of course.

Stevens Point - IPA 5.6%. This is actually a half decent IPA. Some sweet malts, balanced by nice hops. Still has that something missing feel that Stevens Point do well . This is is brewed solely for the UK market I believe. So cheap its giveaway (literally, I actually got this one free with some other purchases). 6/10
