I found this old picture from my life in Vienna, it is at café...
The Girl standing is my "plastic"-daughter (D)Evelyn she recently became a mother in her own right, So I guess that I am a "Plastic Grandfather" now...
The Photo is probably taken by my wife at the time, I know this because I am wearing "my" Desigual and we are at Café Central in Vienna a place all the tourists go...
I mostly wore my Desigual (gifted to me by my wife) when I was with her, "she would kind of force me to wear it" she got it on a sale in Barcelona, my plastic daughter had an identical one. so we always had to talk before going somewhere so we didn´t look like mismatched identical twins...
Café Central, I would by my self never set a foot in that place, but my wife had a habit to take foreign guests there, there and Figmüller...
So we probably have foreign guest when this shot was taken, by foreign I mean non-Austrian or Viennese guest...
Except for Café Central being dead expensive it is one of the few places where you will encounter cues of people... Figmüller being another and Prater sauna if you were out clubbing...
My guess is that I am dead hung over since I am wearing sunglasses inside, my wife had probably dragged me out of bed, probably a weekend since other days she usually was at work ....
I look rather bored, could be because I am feeling a bit: "The day after" and I didn´t like the milieu...
I remember when I once took my wife to one of my favorite places in the first district, I often avoided this part of the city, the Irish pub Bockshorn (www.bockshorn.at) a smoky cramped little place hidden in a small dead-end alley...
I have never seen my wife drink beer as fast, and saying: Can we leave now?
...actually it was the family friend Karim who tipped me about this place, she said, that must be a place for Danny, She was very right...
...no the central first district wasn´t what I loved about Vienna, it was all of the other districts that was interesting, so if you visit Vienna as a tourist, try getting outside the first district and you´ll find really cool places and meet weird and gentle people...

An obvious abandoned building I've seen from outside as I walked by by chance. No interiour, sorry! Didn't had my equipment with me. But I liked the look from the outside very much, especially with the threes getting back the terrain step by step and the Vesuvio in the background.

What a nasty spring we've got this year! The weather has been horrible for weeks; right now it's snowing again. I long for summer! As I couldn't find the sunshine outside, I decided to dig for it in my archives. And there I found both summer and sun! :-)

I took this picture of Aura when we were doing a small trip with a train some time ago. Aura definitely has a passion for climbing things and while she have climbed into trees and playground gadgets she doesn't give it a rest even in a train. For her age (turning four soon) she is pretty skillful and it usually doesn't go unnoticed when she does her stunts as there is almost always some new adult who admires her skills. Sometimes things even get uneasy when other adults get scared that some accident might happen (luckily we had very little of those). But I let her play and climb even in unconventional places (like in train) because I feel climbing has given her so much healthy confidence for her own skills and it belongs to untamed childhood, and as a father I'm of course very proud of her skills.
If you have noticed I haven't used (or shared pictures from) the Zeiss Loxia 2/35 as much as some other lenses in my kit. To be honest, this is because the Loxia 2/35 isn't the most straight forward lens to approach. If you have followed the development of camera lenses in recent years, you probably already know that today's customers are basically waiting for 'perfect lenses' which have no compromises or weak corners - and manufacturers are delivering them as good as they can. The Loxia 2/35 is different in this regard. Instead of being superb already from wide open (like most of the current lenses at the market), it introduces a certain veil on the image when shot at f/2. When I noticed this at first time I thought that Zeiss has produced a mediocre lens which has a very obvious weak corner in it. To be clear the fore mentioned veil at f/2 is not always there, but it becomes very visible with a high contrast subject and one could say that the famous Zeiss micro contrast just isn't there at wide open. So, in some ways this put me off at the start because I had developed a certain expectations which came from the standards of the current lens manufacturing. I was a bit baffled by this lens and the question that I had in my mind was 'why did people at Zeiss decided to release this particular lens for the Loxia family when it clearly doesn't satisfy the expectations'.
Now that I've used the Loxia 2/35 a bit more, I've found myself coming back to it again and again because there is something particular in the way it renders. Stopping it down to f/2.8 clears the veil and image becomes very sharp with great contrast, but this kind of technical stuff isn't my point (stop it to f/4 and suddenly becomes a modern performer). Beyond technical attributes this lens has a certain character that I find very pleasing. It's a kind of 'classic look' that has a great three dimensional separation in some circumstances. Bokeh, even if it's a bit nervous in some situations, has a kind of timeless quality from time to time when subject is at favourable distance. What is causing all this is beyond me, but all I know is that it's there and I like it. I could go even so far to say that this lens has a kind of character that makes me re-evaluate the other lenses. In some ways it has 'that something' that isn't there with the other lenses (except the Loxia 2/50 perhaps).
So to answer my own question 'why did Zeiss decided to release this particular lens even with distinct weak corner with its wide open behavior', I believe they knew that this particular lens had a character that produces beautiful images even if it doesn't follow the norm of how lens should perform today. They had to trust in this particular lens design which was borrowed from their own ZM-series, otherwise they could have just design it from the ground up to satisfy the expectations of the current audience. In short, the Loxia 2/35 is different, not only from the rendering's point of view, but also as product since it doesn't follow the norm of lens to today is expected to be. This is what makes it interesting to me and it kind of fits into philosophy of the Loxia family since offering manual focusing lenses for perhaps the most innovative camera system of today is certainly a bold move from Zeiss. So, it's unique and definitely a keeper.

Unlike its name might suggest this is not a Diablo with a Bugatti engine but still a rather individual restoration conducted by VW trainees.
Fenders, bumpers and the front mask are custom made, as well as interiour and dashbord. The W12 engine (6l, 450PS), automatic transmission, rear lights and electronics were taken from a Phaeton, steering wheel and drive shafts from a Golf. LED headlights are from a Passat CC, and many more parts are handmade.
Container Home 8x16 "Wooden hut" with openable door and removable roof. The interiour is ructic to match the theme.

The Wizard when up early when his clockwork cockatrice snarled 5 time, that is very early... for him anyway...
Yet another night he had been ridden my the nightmare horror which has been nagging him since he was indebted to Devils...
He tried to get away from his bad feeling hanging around his chest by reading an ancient book about torture in pre-medieval time, put the kettle with fresh coca-leaves in water on the open fire a drink he have been needed to wake up every morning since he was in the land of the Aztekinkas as a trainee-mage apprentice to the master mage as a youngling!
Even tough it was nice to read about the torture off distance times and places, he couldn´t get that nagging nervous feeling away that someone owing money to a devil often can get!
Then it stuck him, in one of his Naughty books from Persistan there was someone stroking a lamp and a spirit of vapor appeared and the books hero got 21 wishes or was it seven?
...anyway he has such a lamp that was described in the book, exactly as it was described actually!
He was eager and giddy like a small child, is this the solution at my problems he thought...
He found that small lamp, and started rubbing it...
Nothing happened!
He rubbed until his clockwork cockatrice reached 12 snarls...
He peaked inside there was a black liquid of low viscosity, he thought that that might be the Spirit? but in a liquid form and since he was the master of alchemy he knew that if you heat a liquid it will often vaporize in to a misty fog, so he took his fire strike steel and gave it a crank, sparks was going everywhere non it to the golden lamp!
One more strike, yes now the spirit was alive, in the form of fire burning from it´s snout...
He uttered an incomplete sentence: Buuurning Spirit can you hear me, will you grant...
He didn´t get longer and saw that his gunpowder experiment of bench had gotten ignited by some spark, then when he wasn´t looking at the the lamp he accidentally had sprayed his books and the shelves with experimental liquids, everything was burning...
this was the start of what the people of the capital city called: "The wizard Towers Inferno"
Luckily the fire didn´t spread to any other buildings in the city, many think it was because of the large amount of books and flammable liquids ands substances that made the combustion go inwards and not spread!
...anyhow the wizard was now a sot darkened homeless man when he knocked on the Kings door asking to get a small room or at the very least a prison cell to sleep in!
