Boothe Memorial Park in Stratford seems to be a wonderful place for interacting with all sorts of creatures. This parrot was checking me out, before deciding I'm evil and screaming at me.

I don't have a good track record with this species. Mike's birds think I'm an utter bitch!

The fact that we live in a deep gravity well in a gas covered planet which goes around a nuclear fireball 90 million miles away and it still feels like another Tuesday proves the significance of perspective in our lives.

We believe that a right perspective can change our lives. TEDxGCEK, the youngest member of TED community plans to represent the same. TEDx speakers compel us to initiate, innovate and improvise the lives of people in ways that we never even knew existed.

I shot this picture in the Quad almost directly into harsh sunlight so that the subjects have a shine on their hair. I love the action and emotions shown.

I didn't have much time to change settings for the candid shot but my aperture was set to the lens' maximum of f/2.4 to blur the background as much as possible. ISO was pretty high at 800 to allow fast shutter to freeze the action.

Scilla (pronounced /ˈsɪlə/),[1] the squills, is a genus of bulb-forming perennial herbs in the Hyacinthaceae family. The 90-odd species are found in woodlands, subalpine meadows, and seashores across the Old World. Their flowers are usually blue, but white, pink, and purple types are known; most flower in early spring, but a few are autumn-flowering.

Siberian squill (Scilla siberica), also known as wood squill or spring beauty, is a bulbous perennial native to Siberia flowering in early spring. It naturalizes rapidly from seed.

Flowers have six petals and six stamens, and are arranged singly or in racemes of 2 or 3.

Most specimens have blue flowers, but the variety alba is white. The stamens of Scilla are separate, unlike those of the related genera Puschkinia and Chionodoxa, and pollen is the same color as the flower.

After flowering, the flower stems become limp and seedpods form. At maturity, the pods become purple and split open, releasing small, dark brown seeds. When seed is mature, the leaves wither and the plant goes dormant till the next spring.

Seedlings are small and hollow-leaved.

At 15 cm (6 in), Siberian squill is suitable to be planted in grass, and will form large colonies that go dormant by the time grass needs to be mowed.

This trophic interaction involves many things. The gopher hole allows the mammal to interact with the soil and the plant life on the ground as well as the various insect species that are being kicked out of their homes when the gopher digs.

I believe that the most influential species on my site is the gopher or other small rodents. The trifolium clover species is the most overpopulated species that seems to cover most of the entire site. It is also the main food source for most of the insects in the area. The insects are in turn limited by this seemingly unlimited food resource. This results in what should be an overpopulation of insects and herbavores. Why don’t we see this happening? The predators of those species are limiting the growth of the various insects. This results in the gophers and small rodents being the most influential species in my opinion. If the predators of these insects and herbivores where to be taken out we would expect to see an overpopulation of those insects and herbivores. If the influential species became invasive then the populations of the herbivores would decrease and the population of the plant life would decrease.

The trifolium clover isn’t limited by anything besides soil type and area. Therefore the limiting factors are almost unbound in this case

The squirrel is a rodent that eats small nuts and insects therefore it is limited by the trees that produce the food they eat and the insects they eat. In turn they are ultimately limited by the local flora.

The rollie pollie insect Is limited by the decomposing plant material that is available to them. The decomposition of the flora is limited by the amount of flora available and the speed at which they are able to die off and become ingestible for the insect.
