Fort Lauderdale station is an inter-city rail station located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It is served by Brightline, which connects Miami, West Palm Beach, and Orlando International Airport. The station is located in downtown Fort Lauderdale, on NW 2nd Avenue between Broward Boulevard and NW 4th Street, adjacent to the Broward County Transit's Central Terminal.
Construction for the station began in October 2014 with the demolition of existing structures on the site. The complex consists of an elevated concourse above an 800-foot-long (240 m), 35-foot-wide (11 m) island platform for the trains. The station is a modern-style structure with illuminated V-shaped columns supporting the upper concourse, echoing the designs of the Miami and West Palm Beach stations on the line. It was planned and designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in association with Zyscovich Architects, and was completed in January 2018.

As I post this, we're all going mad for 43102 on the Midland Main Line in it's retro Inter City Swallow livery (me included), but perhaps I need to remind myself that this livery is one livery I am not short of pictures of.

Fort Frederick Martello Tower (1846) is part of the Kingston Fortifications, which is an inter-related defense system located in and around the Kingston Harbour area in Ontario, Canada. A historically strategic site, situated at the mouth of the Cataraqui River, and overlooking the confluence of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River. Construction of the fortifications began with the outbreak of the War of 1812 (a military conflict between Canada, a colony of Great Britain, and the United States) and, when several simple defensive works were hurriedly built around the harbour, including blockhouses at Point Henry, Point Frederick and Murney Point.
Following the war, Kingston evolved into a major commercial, political, naval and military centre in the colony of Upper Canada. In 1832, the Rideau Canal linking Kingston to Montreal was completed, thereby increasing the town’s role as a naval transportation hub. To protect the southern terminus of the canal, the British began to fortify the harbour with the construction of Fort Henry, situated atop Point Henry. The rehabilitation of Fort Frederick, and the construction of Martello towers including the Shoal Tower, Fort Frederick Tower, and Cedar Island Cathcart Tower was conducted in the mid-1840s. The Point Murney Tower was constructed in 1846 as part of the new naval defences during the Oregon Crisis of 1845-1846 over a Canada-US boundary dispute. These fortifications, along with the former Market Battery, were designed to provide the town, the canal, and the dockyards with a more comprehensive defensive system. Frederick Point is also the location of the Royal Military College of Canada established in 1874.
The Kingston Fortifications National Historic Site of Canada was commemorated as a national historic site in 1989.
************

Blackpink Jisoo : The Interstellar and Inter-dimensional Travelers : Goddess of Seduction and Infiltration No.1 ðŸ˜: A Memory : Pretty Savage (too hot to be savage ðŸ˜) : Supreme (Robbie Williams) : By All Means Necessary (Robbie Williams) : From the Lost Memories of the Other Realms : The Blackpink Alternate Universe series : Digital Drawing
The woman with the hottest eyes but now she has drawn her sword, careful, she could cut off your, you know ðŸ˜:). This drawing project took a while due to the planning stage, lol. Before I draw, I visualize it first in my mind with so many different possibilities but getting the right composition is difficult. It's not about running out of ideas but how to use the idea the right way :). This drawing project also uses my oldest technique, which is painting it directly in colour and picking the colours manually for each colour gradient or mixing it, etc, which can take longer but the results speak for itself, the drawing looks more lifelike and 3dimensional :). The sword blade material, not sure but it looks like it's made of a crystal material - the force wants it drawn this way :). Oh, that's not an airplane, it's a spacecraft and that's not an Uber Spacecraft, lol, it's just a Royal Escort Spacecraft, I think :). How long ago? No idea, haha, must be millions of years ago, lol. Drawn using ps cc, cintiq24hd. Thanks for looking. Next drawing will still be Rose'(Yay). Enjoy, take care and sweet dreams :). Drawing timelapse link found here: youtu.be/rojQ1D3_wOc

Upto 1987 'Peak' class locomotives were a regular sight on the L&M line hauling the Trans-Pennine trains and the first time in over 20 years, one has travelled over the L&M line, the last being Pete Waterman's No 46035 (D172). However, this probably the first Class 45 to travel on this route since Spring 1987. Looking spendid in BR blue livery, No 45118 'The Royal Artilleryman' is seen passing St Helens Junction Station, hauling the Inter City Railtours 'The Pennine Peak' 1Z66 09:36 Liverpool Lime Street to Newcastle railtour. 8th November 2024.

The first production Inter-City 125 power car , 43002 Sir Kenneth Grange , on display at the National Railway Museum in York .
This was unexpected!
43007 passes Westhouses with a northbound Inter City Cross Country service, diverted from Derby via Toton and the Erewash Valley due to a problem on the Ambergate line.
It is passing the former Tibshelf sidings, with the rusty remaining single line that was last used by trains from Silverhill colliery, which closed October 1992.
43007 had recently been transferred from B.R. Inter City Great Western to Cross Country at this time, and became one of the celebrity powers cars towards the end of Cross Country HST's and was painted in B.R. Inter City 125 yellow & blue.
It worked the farewell rail tour to Swanage (along with 43008) in September 2023.
It was exported to Mexico in February 2024.
