The Wesleyan and Primitive Methodists and Church Army all used 'Gospel cars' in the nineteenth and early twentieth century. Within Methodism, horsedrawn wagons were partly replaced by hand-pushed 'trek carts' in the inter-war years, and finally by deaconess' caravans in the 1950s. Gospel Cars were used for ministry in markets, fairgrounds, at overnight moorings for barge and boat people, and to traveller camps, and to reach rural locations.
This faithful reproduction of Car No 11 was built in 2011, and is currently housed on the Boat Dock at the Black Country Living Museum. This serves to link it within the museum campus with one of the historically marginalized groups - the boat and barge people - to whom the Gospel Car missioners were reaching out. The inside of the Gospel Car can be viewed from the front platform even when no-one is specifically on duty, so visitors can see for themselves how the Gospel Car operated. It was a little home on wheels - what are seats during the day were beds at night. It was a little church on wheels - the bigger audience would be addressed from the platform while the smaller audience would be invited inside. It was a little audio-visual centre - see the organ and the pictures hanging from the wall. What you may not see, because they are stored out of sight, are the gramophone, the percussion band instruments and the magic lantern. It sounds wonderful, but with walls of just a single plank thick it would certainly be very very cold on many a winter night.
Esta es una de las primeras fotografías que realice con la Fujifilm XT2... recuerdo este atardecer perfectamente fue espectacular.
The blue skies that had been around the Chester area earlier this morning turned to thick cloud by the time 70000 " Britannia" crossed the Northgate Locks on leaving the city with the Chester to Salop leg of a LSL test run.
We feared the worst here this morning as the Brit had arrived at Chester East Junction 6 early but was put into the sidings alongside Chester General. It sat there for 30mins before she was allowed to move forward and sounded in good fettle as she passed under the city walls, shame the stock didn't look so good though....

Worked on this last week, I have been wanting to do something like this ever since I was inspired by the Call of duty infinite war trailer came out. I don't play the games but the trailers sure are epic. XD
Happy Fourth of July everyone!
I felt inspired enough today to re-use my custom painted AMA GoW armour, and worked it into this fig. I skipped using sealant...I actually like it better off.
Custom Elements:
- Painted and modified Castle helmet
- Painted AMA armour
- Painted BF vambraces
- Brasso'ed torso
- Custom weapons (painted, cut and assembled)
These are photos taken on my trip to Europe and the UK with a girl friend in October to November 2012. My camera I had then wasn't good with low light so some of these shots are not great but I have put them as my memories of the trip.
Our Friend took us to Stourhead for a look around the gardens. It had been snowing the morning but cleared in the afternoon. It was bitterly cold. Well worth the visit.
Stourhead is a 1,072-hectare estate at the source of the River Stour in the southwest of the English county of Wiltshire, extending into Somerset.
The lake at Stourhead is artificially created. Following a path around the lake is meant to evoke a journey similar to that of Aeneas's descent in to the underworld. In addition to Greek mythology, the layout is evocative of the "genius of the place", a concept expounded by Alexander Pope. Buildings and monuments are erected in remembrance of family and local history. Henry Hoare was a collector of art; one of his pieces was Claude Lorrain's Aeneas at Delos, which is thought to have inspired the pictorial design of the gardens. Passages telling of Aeneas's journey are quoted in the temples surrounding the lake.

I happen to be in a woman's walk-in closet the other day (How I got there with a camera in hand is not important right now) but more interesting to me than the wall of shoes was the display of hats.
