And yes, that is my dress in a pile on the floor, thank you very much. It was a fine, fine end to a Saturday last night here at Chez Ballard.

i'm working on a zero-budget makeover of this closet into a tiny little office - - just enough space for my printer, an electronics re-charging station, my mail & paperwork, and camera equipment
eh. this morning decided to bring in color. Ive laid in some indian red/venitian red glazes and some yellows. working on warms now then will go in with lighter colors. Im working mostly in glazes because i brought up so much in monochromes underneath. A little different.
WORK IN PROGRESS -- I've gotten to a point (in restoration of the facial area) where I'm losing detail. I can see now that I've changed the head shape! Oh no! In addition...I think I have over-slimmed-down the cheekbone area, so I will have to get that back in the next installement.
I'm going to begin working on the shirt / collar / tie next. Thanks to the Photo Restoration and Colorization Pool members for suggestions of changing the background.

Who are these people I call my grandparents? I wish I knew more about them. They both died when my mother was three years old. My Grandpa was from the United Sates. He served in the Navy so he traveled a lot. When he went to Guatemala he met my grandmother there. I don't know if they got married or not but they had my mom. In the navy my grandpa learned to fly helicopters. One day he wanted to take my grandma and one of her friends for a ride. But I guess he did not have permission to fly, so they shot him down and they all died in a swamp. My mom had a really hard childhood. She ended up both as an only child and an orphan.
My great grandma raised my mother.
I know very little about my grandparents. I wish I could find a way to connect with them. To see what they gave to me, how they shaped the person I am today. I am so glad that they had my mother, otherwise I wouldn't even be here and I would be missed.

Who I Am
I want people to like my outward appearance but I also want them to get past the surface, to really get to know me and appreciate me for the whole person I am - the person that exists deep down in my heart. I don’t want to be an object that is used but instead be someone that is seen as having a real impact on each individual that comes into my life. I want to show people the real me instead of just having people assume or misjudge the kind of person I me solely on my appearance.
I am a caring person. I care about life in general but what is most important to me is the lives of my family and friends. I am affectionate. I like to be emotionally and physically close to the people I care about. Being near them gives me reassurance that they care about me as much as I do for them.
The construction begins. This wall will separate the equipment rental from the studio. Throughthe little window is the studio production office. Up the stairs will be the Client Loft. Under the loft, the make up area. aginst the window wall, the kitchen.

Grey and Green in the Dining Room. Just wait until you see the beautiful mid-century reminiscent bird prints I bought from Etsy for that wall.
It's still a very strange bathroom, sort of a museum of small tidbits of cheap design from every decade of the 20th century, but at least it doesn't look like a nasty old band-aid anymore: www.flickr.com/photos/heathercorinna/129481211/
My name is Choua and I was born on July 21 1995. I am 11 years old. I am the second to the youngest in my family. There are seven people in my family. I have one brother and three sisters. My oldest sister is married with a son. This coming up fall I will be attending Cleveland Quality Middle School. Some of my favorite hobbies are making music. I like to make music by playing the clarinet and piano. I also can make music by singing. I have been playing the clarinet for about three years. I love to take pictures and communicate friends and family. Some times I can be a bit shy but can become very annoying and talkative. When I’m out of things to do I just write poems. At times I love to do homework because it can very amusing. My biggest goal in life is to become a lawyer. If I could, I want to finish high school, college and law school. This will be a very good experience for me. And I would like to reach my goal. I like to work with In Progress because they have really cool workshops that we can attend. In Progress is a very good experience and a very awesome program and if I ever get the chance I would came back to work with In Progress.
My artwork captures the thought of who I really am. In a glimpse, they will immediately know who I truly am: a proud Hmong-American. The loss back in Laos has taken us to where I am today and made me who I am.
