Who I Am

Who are these people I call my grandparents? I wish I knew more about them. They both died when my mother was three years old. My Grandpa was from the United Sates. He served in the Navy so he traveled a lot. When he went to Guatemala he met my grandmother there. I don't know if they got married or not but they had my mom. In the navy my grandpa learned to fly helicopters. One day he wanted to take my grandma and one of her friends for a ride. But I guess he did not have permission to fly, so they shot him down and they all died in a swamp. My mom had a really hard childhood. She ended up both as an only child and an orphan.
My great grandma raised my mother.
I know very little about my grandparents. I wish I could find a way to connect with them. To see what they gave to me, how they shaped the person I am today. I am so glad that they had my mother, otherwise I wouldn't even be here and I would be missed.

Who I Am
I want people to like my outward appearance but I also want them to get past the surface, to really get to know me and appreciate me for the whole person I am - the person that exists deep down in my heart. I don’t want to be an object that is used but instead be someone that is seen as having a real impact on each individual that comes into my life. I want to show people the real me instead of just having people assume or misjudge the kind of person I me solely on my appearance.
I am a caring person. I care about life in general but what is most important to me is the lives of my family and friends. I am affectionate. I like to be emotionally and physically close to the people I care about. Being near them gives me reassurance that they care about me as much as I do for them.
