Fibre is 'Scottish Seascape' on BFL/sparkly nylon, being spun my Wildcraft Pink Lace and Forget-me-nots spindle.
bits and pieces of broken and reclaimed items mingle with repurposed materials (tin can beads, dried play dough fragments, reclaimed buttons). The items are bound (held) on a field of cloth and threads. The cloth acts as a support the fragments and broken pieces. The threads are in the shape of spirals, symbol of chaos but also of reconstruction; seed stitches sow new hope. The faces float on the surface, caught in the turbulance. Chaos and creativity are present.
May all the creative forces of reconstruction and rebuilding be with you.
The work is not yet complete, more stitching needed in center. It also needs to be stretched over a frame.

Untitled as of yet

6" square patches in browns and turquoises: a quick quilt/playmat for a friend's new granddaughter. The friend lives near the sea, hence the choice of picture fabrics. (She's also a gardener and loves acers. Not sure where the musical mice come in!)
The top's finished - now to assemble it with a cream/bronze tiny-print border/back, and quilt it, trying out a YLI space-dyed quilting thread.
