This is the ink wash painted on a block of Cherry wood. I'm considering making this a multi colored (thus multi block) print so I've included a registration mark in the lower left.
These pages were done in a watercolor journal with a combination of Dyan's Dylusion spray inks and Perfect Pearl spray inks. These pages are not done as will do another layer with stencils/acrylic paints, stamps, writing, collage material, etc.
I took this photo because I wanted to see what food coloring looked like when silhouetted in bowl. I turned all of the lights off, put a color on my phone and placed it behind the bowl. I then took photos while dropping a few drops of red food coloring in. I composited 3 photos at different stages of the process and edited the hue on each one to make them different colors. The question I answered was How can a photograph emphasize colors more than the subjects that create those colors? I did this by making sure the only colors visible were the extremely bright neon colors contrasted with black silhouettes of coloring dye. I think this brings focus to the colors and the lack of color with dye. Medium: Digital Composite. Size: 125.5'', 41.333''.
Squid Ink playing their second gig. In almost total darkness at the Barley Corn Hotel. I had the ISO cranked to 3200 and was shooting wide open at between 1/6 and 1/40. And I still had to boost the crap out of them in processing!
