THE CITY of GRAVES! This pen and ink artwork depicts the city as an endless, faceless entity, devoid of diversity, and unidentifiable. Not an uncopmmon interpretation of the cold metropolis, especially when first arriving or investigating the beast. The symbolically homogenized citizenship is simoultaneously reflective of a personel detachment from the subject in question, as it is a critical analyisis on my part. Having little experience with the city, or people, when I made these designs, the depictions are strongly reflective of the individual experience of being a "stranger" in the concrete jungle.
Playing with food colourant and water. February 2008 Digital Camera magazine had a two page project on photographing the colour trails of food colourant added to water. These are my attempts, some with affects applied in Photoshop Elements.
