Rutherford B. Winston Hugh scoured every Sunday ad he could get his chubby nubs on to find the greatest deals and steals around the neighborhood. He would happily lick every stamp posted to every rebate check request on every Monday after his new pointless treasures were picked up the day before. He'd be a millionaire by seventy-three living the high life with a gold digging twenty something year old (a seven at best) and ditching his old wife (a former ten and current eight).
Training myself to draw has been an interesting exercise. I studied the workds of Nicolas de Crecy, the Rat Rod artists, Stephan Marjoram, R.Crumb, S.Clay Wilson and many others. While I certainly will never develop the kind of talent they had, this has been a good way to "kill time" during the various periods of lockdown here in France during the Covid Pandemic.

The ink in the background was the result of experimenting today but things got away from me (a.k.a. I made a mess). However, it seemed an appropriate backdrop for the Neil Gaiman quote regarding just such things....and it's how I am trying to approach the creative process in general.

Note: I am trying to finish an art project outside this daily drawing thing and it involves a feline curled up in a box. I still had to do an ink drawing for today. Between cats on the brain and ideas pingponging around in my head of a feline/aquatic/canine/wedding illustration commission due next early month, this is what ended up on paper. It could have been a lot stranger....
...after a couple of days working on Epsilon paper I have come to realize that the heavier Zeta series has spoiled me. There really is no going back if one is going to start combining watercolor with their inks.

Drawn with German Urban Sketchers Annual Meeting. Everyone was sat in the shade.
Marginalia in a 1556 edition of Aristotle's Physics in the hand of James Harris (1709-1780), English politician, grammarian, and philosopher, best known for his work Hermes, a philosophical inquiry concerning universal grammar. His son, James Harris (1746-1820), became the 1st Earl of Malmesbury. This book became part of the library at Hurn Court, former seat of the Earls of Malmesbury, and was rebound with the Malmesbury arms on the left board.
