"You gave me the answer to love eternally

I love you and you, you seem to like me

Wherever we wander, the local folk agree

I love you and you, you seem to like me

Heading back to old familiar places

Places where the cobwebs blow away

I can't forget the airs and graces

"Shall we dance?"

"This is fun!"

"We should do this more often!"

You'll never be crowned by the aristocracy

To their delight, you'd merely invite them in for a cup of tea

And I love you and you, you seem to like

You seem to like, you seem to like me...."

YOU GAVE ME THE ANSWER - Wings/Paul McCartney, 1975.

White Lady White Powder

Music & lyrics by Elton John & Bernie Taupin 1980

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dust settles on a thin cloud

Sends a fog drifting to a worn out crowd

I've had my face in a mirror for twenty four hours

Staring at a line of white powder

High-priced madness pays the tab

I've scraped too much of nothing from your plastic bag

I'm a catatonic son of a bitch who's had

A touch too much of white powder

And she's a habit I can't handle

For a reason I can't say

I'm in love with a wild white lady

She's as sweet as the stories say

White powder white lady

You're one and the same

Come on down to my house won't you

And hit this boy again

Shock waves to a tired brain

Sends that hungry lady to my door again

She's my shelter from the storm when I feel the rain

Entertaining white powder

I feel I'm dry-docked and tongue-tied

Heaven sends a stretcher for the kids to ride

I might just escape while the others might die

Riding on a high of white powder

Marginalia in a 1556 edition of Aristotle's Physics in the hand of James Harris (1709-1780), English politician, grammarian, and philosopher, best known for his work Hermes, a philosophical inquiry concerning universal grammar. His son, James Harris (1746-1820), became the 1st Earl of Malmesbury. This book became part of the library at Hurn Court, former seat of the Earls of Malmesbury, and was rebound with the Malmesbury arms on the left board.

This year, I will try to make INKTOBER drawings based on popculture, drawn without sketching first.

It was a rough week for me so Loki was drawn in a bit of a hurry.

"Ten little Indians

Stand in a row

Of me there are many

So how would I know

That she was only one woman

Only one woman

And I've got a picture

Of the woman I love

Who sees my lonely face?

Who sees my shame

Nobody in the place

Could tell me her name

'Cause she was only one woman

Only one woman

And I've got a picture

Of the woman I love

Ten little Indians

Now there are none

Of me there are many

And love still goes on

'Cause she was only one woman

Only one woman

And I've got a picture

Of the woman I love

Well, she was only one woman

Only one woman

And I've got a picture

Of the woman I love

She's that woman, I love her so

Don't let it die, don't let it die

I've been lovin' you, been a lovin' you just a little too long

I love her

Oh God, don't go, don't go, oh please..."

Spoken language mastery is essential for reading and writing. Some of the most influential cognitive abilities that provide a foundation for speaking, reading and writing are: attention, verbal working memory, executive functioning and processing speed.

I made this drawing in 2010 for a reading and writing learning project in Arizona.
