This one was knitted by me :) I LOVE this fluoro coral yarn (the colour really doesn't come up right on camera at all, which is such a pity). I wish I had so much more of it!

 

Baby Love is modelling the dress, and I think it suits her colouring really well.

Some would say this is a bit harsh, sending your second born out on Alton Towers Battle Galleons on his own while bribing the bigger kids around the outsides to give him a soaking but I say it's character building.....

This is a photograph from the finish of the 4th Annual Multyfarnham (Multy) 5KM Road Race and Fun Run which was held in the village of Multyfarnham about 15KM west of Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 3rd June 2015 at 20:00. An incredible and unprecedented crowd of almost 300 participants took to the route including runners, joggers and walkers which was on an out-and-back course on beautiful country roads. The weather was perfect for racing and running. The fast course combined with the good weather conditions provided personal and seasonal bests for many of the participants. The GAA Club and Community Centre provided car-parking and the race headquarters. Overall this was a very well organised race event which on the evidence of tonight's race can grow even further in future years. As this and other photographs in this set shows there is nothing like an evening race in summer time in rural Ireland. Multyfarnham's setting amongst the rolling hills of north county Westmeath and not far from the shores of Lough Derravaragh provides a wonderful race setting. The village of Multy is easily accessible and is just two miles off the N4 Dublin Sligo road.

Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

 

     ►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

     ►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

     ►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

     ►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

Metamorphoses by Merlino Mayo at LEA - Full Sim Project - 1st turn - 2011-2012 Show Open till 15 March 2012.

 

First of all I want to thank LEA (Linden Endowment for the Arts) and The LEA committee (Bryn Oh, Dancoyote Antonelli, Dekka Raymaker, JayJay Zifanwe, L1 Loire, Sasun Steinbeck, Solo Mornington, Werner Kurosawa, PatriciaAnne Daviau -advisor-) who trusted me and other artists (Artistide Despres, Charlotte Bartlett, comet Morigi, Freewee Ling, Glyph Graves, Harter Fall, Merlino Mayo, Mikati Slade, Misprint Thursday, Oberon Onmura, RAG Randt, Secret Rage, Selavy Oh, Sowa Mai, Ux Hax, Zachh Cale) for the first round LEA Land Grants to give me the opportunity to use a big space as a full sim to express my art.

Taking inspiration from the 1st book and a few of other episodes of the "Metamorphoses", word that from greek means "change of shape", written in latin by Publius Ovidius, this new project aims to build a path of multi levels within an allegorical vision related to the current age of crisis and transformation of human beings and our society.

The way to see the whole work would formally very different but conceptually similar to the fresco dedicated to the "Fall of the Giants" by Giulio Romano in the Palazzo Te in Mantua (Mantova), where the representation becomes a metaphor of the times lived and precarious power and human ambitions; So going on other examples are possible like the trasformations of Aracne, Daphne, Icarus, Heliades sisters, Medusa, ect. The outer and inner change of form and substance of living beings and their natural relationships into something different, new and unexpected, from the creative process naturally with technology through the lens of the symbolism of Myth and the squared glass of Science.

It is very intersting to see the origin of name Palazzo Te: "The famous villa, designed for parties, receptions and "idleness" of the Duke of Mantua, was built on an island in direct contiguity with the city center, known since the Middle Ages Tejeto, or Te. The hypothesis most likely derive from the term 'tilietum' (place of linden trees) or from the Celtic 'tezza' linked with Latin 'atteggia' in english 'attitude', both meaning 'hut'." *from

Obviously the project is not complete about the whole huge Ovid's work, and in start I've done just some main episodes, but my intention is to work on it in future, it will take time for sure. Stay tuned.

This is a photograph from the finish of the 4th Annual Multyfarnham (Multy) 5KM which was held in the village of Multyfarnham about 15KM west of Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 3rd June 2015 at 20:00. An incredible and unprecedented crowd of almost 300 participants took to the route including runners, joggers and walkers which was on an out-and-back course on beautiful country roads. The weather was perfect for racing and running. The fast course combined with the good weather conditions provided personal and seasonal bests for many of the participants. The GAA Club and Community Centre provided car-parking and the race headquarters. Overall this was a very well organised race event which on the evidence of tonight's race can grow even further in future years. As this and other photographs in this set shows there is nothing like an evening race in summer time in rural Ireland. Multyfarnham's setting amongst the rolling hills of north county Westmeath and not far from the shores of Lough Derravaragh provides a wonderful race setting. The village of Multy is easily accessible and is just two miles off the N4 Dublin Sligo road.

Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

 

     ►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

     ►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

     ►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

     ►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

 

     ►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

     ►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

     ►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

     ►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

This is a photograph from the finish of the 4th Annual Multyfarnham (Multy) 5KM which was held in the village of Multyfarnham about 15KM west of Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 3rd June 2015 at 20:00. An incredible and unprecedented crowd of almost 300 participants took to the route including runners, joggers and walkers which was on an out-and-back course on beautiful country roads. The weather was perfect for racing and running. The fast course combined with the good weather conditions provided personal and seasonal bests for many of the participants. The GAA Club and Community Centre provided car-parking and the race headquarters. Overall this was a very well organised race event which on the evidence of tonight's race can grow even further in future years. As this and other photographs in this set shows there is nothing like an evening race in summer time in rural Ireland. Multyfarnham's setting amongst the rolling hills of north county Westmeath and not far from the shores of Lough Derravaragh provides a wonderful race setting. The village of Multy is easily accessible and is just two miles off the N4 Dublin Sligo road.

The Postcard

 

A postally unused carte postale that was published by Éditions Promophot. The photography was by Antonio Carrara.

 

Medieval craftsmen must have realised when they were carefully carving the chimères that few people would ever get close enough to them to appreciate their skill and artistry.

 

The Notre-Dame Fire

 

On the 15th. April 2019, fire broke out in the attic beneath the cathedral's roof at 18:18. At 18:20 the fire alarm sounded and guards evacuated the cathedral. A guard was sent to investigate, but to the wrong location – the attic of the adjoining sacristy – where he found no fire. About fifteen minutes later the error was discovered, but by the time guards had climbed the three hundred steps to the cathedral attic the fire was well advanced.

 

The alarm system was not designed to automatically notify the fire brigade, which was summoned at 18:51 after the guards had returned. Firefighters arrived within ten minutes.

 

Fighting the Notre-Dame Fire

 

More than 400 firefighters were engaged. A hundred government employees along with police and municipal workers moved precious artefacts to safety via a human chain.

 

The fire was primarily fought from inside the structure, which was more dangerous for personnel, but reduced potential damage to the cathedral - applying water from outside risked deflecting flames and hot gases (at temperatures up to 800 °C) inwards. Deluge guns were used at lower-than-usual pressures to minimise damage to the cathedral and its contents. Water was supplied by pump-boat from the Seine.

 

Aerial firefighting was not used because water dropped from heights could have caused structural damage, and heated stone can crack if suddenly cooled. Helicopters were also not used because of dangerous updrafts, but drones were used for visual and thermal imaging, and robots for visual imaging and directing water streams. Molten lead falling from the roof posed a special hazard for firefighters.

 

By 18:52, smoke was visible from the outside; flames appeared within the next ten minutes. The spire of the cathedral collapsed at 19:50, creating a draft that slammed all the doors and sent a fireball through the attic. Firefighters then retreated from within the attic.

 

Shortly before the spire fell, the fire had spread to the wooden framework inside the north tower, which supported eight very large bells. Had the bells fallen, it was thought that the damage done as they fell could have collapsed the towers, and with them the entire cathedral.

 

At 20:30, firefighters abandoned attempts to extinguish the roof and concentrated on saving the towers, fighting from within and between the towers. By 21:45 the fire was under control.

 

Adjacent apartment buildings were evacuated due to concern about possible collapse, but on the 19th. April the fire brigade ruled out that risk. One firefighter and two police officers were injured.

 

Damage to Notre-Dame

 

Most of the wood/metal roof and the spire of the cathedral was destroyed, with about one third of the roof remaining. The remnants of the roof and spire fell atop the stone vault underneath, which forms the ceiling of the cathedral's interior. Some sections of this vaulting collapsed in turn, allowing debris from the burning roof to fall to the marble floor below, but most sections remained intact due to the use of rib vaulting, greatly reducing damage to the cathedral's interior and objects within.

 

The cathedral contained a large number of artworks, religious relics, and other irreplaceable treasures, including a crown of thorns said to be the one Jesus wore at his crucifixion. Other items were a purported piece of the cross on which Jesus was crucified, the Tunic of St. Louis, a pipe organ by Aristide Cavaillé-Coll, and the 14th.-century Virgin of Paris statue.

 

Some artwork had been removed in preparation for the renovations, and most of the cathedral's sacred relics were held in the adjoining sacristy, which the fire did not reach; all the cathedral's relics survived. Many valuables that were not removed also survived.

 

Lead joints in some of the 19th.-century stained-glass windows melted, but the three major rose windows, dating back to the 13th. century, were undamaged. Several pews were destroyed, and the vaulted arches were blackened by smoke, though the cathedral's main cross and altar survived, along with the statues surrounding it.

 

Some paintings, apparently only smoke-damaged, are expected to be transported to the Louvre for restoration. The rooster-shaped reliquary atop the spire was found damaged but intact among the debris. The three pipe organs were not significantly damaged. The largest of the cathedral's bells, the bourdon, was also not damaged. The liturgical treasury of the cathedral and the "Grands Mays" paintings were moved to safety.

 

Environmental Damage

 

Airparif said that winds rapidly dispersed the smoke, carrying it away aloft along the Seine corridor. It did not find elevated levels of particulate air pollution at monitoring stations nearby. The Paris police stated that there was no danger from breathing the air around the fire.

 

The burned-down roof had been covered with over 400 metric tons of lead. Settling dust substantially raised surface lead levels in some places nearby, notably the cordoned-off area and places left open during the fire. Wet cleaning for surfaces and blood tests for children and pregnant women were recommended in the immediate area.

 

People working on the cathedral after the fire did not initially take the lead precautions required for their own protection; materials leaving the site were decontaminated, but some clothing was not, and some precautions were not correctly followed; as a result, the worksite failed some inspections and was temporarily shut down.

 

There was also more widespread contamination; testing, clean-up, and public health advisories were delayed for months, and the neighbourhood was not decontaminated for four months, prompting widespread criticism.

 

Reactions to the Notre-Dame Fire

 

President of France Emmanuel Macron, postponing a speech to address the Yellow Vests Movement planned for that evening, went to Notre-Dame and gave a brief address there. Numerous world religious and government leaders extended condolences.

 

Through the night of the fire and into the next day, people gathered along the Seine to hold vigils, sing and pray.

 

White tarpaulins over metal beams were quickly rigged to protect the interior from the elements. Nettings protect the de-stabilised exterior.

 

The following Sunday at Saint-Eustache Church, the Archbishop of Paris, Michel Aupetit, honoured the firefighters with the presentation of a book of scriptures saved from the fire.

 

Investigation Into The Notre-Dame Fire

 

On the 16th. April, the Paris prosecutor said that there was no evidence of a deliberate act.

 

The fire has been compared to the similar 1992 Windsor Castle fire and the Uppark fire, among others, and has raised old questions about the safety of similar structures and the techniques used to restore them. Renovation works increase the risk of fire, and a police source reported that they are looking into whether such work had caused this incident.

 

The renovations presented a fire risk from sparks, short-circuits, and heat from welding (roof repairs involved cutting, and welding lead sheets resting on timber). Normally, no electrical installations were allowed in the roof space due to the extreme fire risk.

 

The roof framing was of very dry timber, often powdery with age. After the fire, the architect responsible for fire safety at the cathedral acknowledged that the rate at which fire might spread had been underestimated, and experts said it was well known that a fire in the roof would be almost impossible to control.

 

Of the firms working on the restoration, a Europe Echafaudage team was the only one working there on the day of the fire; the company said no soldering or welding was underway before the fire. The scaffolding was receiving electrical supply for temporary elevators and lighting.

 

The roofers, Le Bras Frères, said it had followed procedure, and that none of its personnel were on site when the fire broke out. Time-lapse images taken by a camera installed by them showed smoke first rising from the base of the spire.

 

On the 25th. April, the structure was considered safe enough for investigators to enter. They unofficially stated that they were considering theories involving malfunction of electric bell-ringing apparatus, and cigarette ends discovered on the renovation scaffolding.

 

Le Bras Frères confirmed its workers had smoked cigarettes, contrary to regulations, but denied that a cigarette butt could have started the fire. The Paris prosecutor's office announced on the 26th. June that no evidence had been found to suggest a criminal motive.

 

The security employee monitoring the alarm system was new on the job, and was on a second eight-hour shift that day because his relief had not arrived. Additionally, the fire security system used confusing terminology in its referencing parts of the cathedral, which contributed to the initial confusion as to the location of the fire.

 

As of September, five months after the fire, investigators thought the cause of the fire was more likely an electrical fault than a cigarette. Determining the exact place in which the fire started was expected to take a great deal more time and work. By the 15th. April 2020, investigators stated:

 

"We believe the fire to have been

started by either a cigarette or a

short circuit in the electrical system".

 

Reconstruction of Notre-Dame Cathedral

 

On the night of the fire Macron said that the cathedral, which is owned by the state, would be rebuilt, and launched an international fundraising campaign. France's cathedrals have been owned by the state since 1905, and are not privately insured.

 

The heritage conservation organisation Fondation du Patrimoine estimated the damage in the hundreds of millions of euros, but losses from the fire are not expected to substantially impact the private insurance industry.

 

European art insurers stated that the cost would be similar to ongoing renovations at the Palace of Westminster in London, which currently is estimated to be around €7 billion.

 

This cost does not include damage to any of the artwork or artefacts within the cathedral. Any pieces on loan from other museums would have been insured, but the works owned by the cathedral would not have been insurable.

 

While Macron hoped the cathedral could be restored in time for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, architects expect the work could take from twenty to forty years, as any new structure would need to balance restoring the look of the original building, using wood and stone sourced from the same regions used in the original construction, with the structural reinforcement required for preventing a similar disaster in the future.

 

There is discussion of whether to reconstruct the cathedral in modified form. Rebuilding the roof with titanium sheets and steel trusses has been suggested; other options include rebuilding in the original lead and wood, or rebuilding with modern materials not visible from the outside (like the reinforced concrete trusses at Reims Cathedral).

 

Another option would be to use a combination of restored old elements and newly designed ones. Chartres Cathedral was rebuilt with wrought iron trusses and copper sheeting after an 1836 fire.

 

French prime minister Édouard Philippe announced an architectural design competition for a new spire that would be:

 

"Adapted to the techniques

and the challenges of our era."

 

The spire replacement project has gathered a variety of designs and some controversy, particularly its legal exemption from environmental and heritage rules. After the design competition was announced, the French senate amended the government's restoration bill to require the roof to be restored to how it was before the fire.

 

On the 16th. July, 95 days after the fire, the law that will govern the restoration of the cathedral was finally approved by the French parliament. It recognises its UNESCO World Heritage Site status and the need to respect existing international charters and practices, to:

 

"Preserve the historic, artistic and architectural

history of the monument, and to limit any

derogations to the existing heritage, planning,

environmental and construction codes to a

minimum".

 

On the 15th. April 2020, Germany offered to restore some of the large clerestory windows located far above eye level with three expert tradesmen who specialize in rebuilding cathedrals. Monika Grütters, Germany's Commissioner for Culture was quoted as saying that her country would shoulder the costs.

 

As of the 30th. November all of the tangled scaffolding was removed from the spire area, and was therefore no longer a threat to the building.

 

The world will now have to wait for Notre-Dame de Paris to be restored to its former magnificence.

Future Boy Conan (未来少年コナン, Mirai Shōnen Konan), also known as Conan, The Boy in Future, is a Japanese post-apocalyptic science fiction anime series, designed and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, with the collaboration of Keiji Hayakawa and Isao Takahata.

In my proposal made of bricks I therefore wanted to recreate Conan's "house" where he lives with his grandfather and which is present in many covers of the series..lana companion of adventures could not be missing and who in defense of which Conan will face a thousand adventures! For me it would really be a dream come true to see a set that re-proposes the mythical adventures of Conan and his companions and I really hope that you too have the same desire as me

This is a photograph from the finish of the 4th Annual Multyfarnham (Multy) 5KM which was held in the village of Multyfarnham about 15KM west of Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 3rd June 2015 at 20:00. An incredible and unprecedented crowd of almost 300 participants took to the route including runners, joggers and walkers which was on an out-and-back course on beautiful country roads. The weather was perfect for racing and running. The fast course combined with the good weather conditions provided personal and seasonal bests for many of the participants. The GAA Club and Community Centre provided car-parking and the race headquarters. Overall this was a very well organised race event which on the evidence of tonight's race can grow even further in future years. As this and other photographs in this set shows there is nothing like an evening race in summer time in rural Ireland. Multyfarnham's setting amongst the rolling hills of north county Westmeath and not far from the shores of Lough Derravaragh provides a wonderful race setting. The village of Multy is easily accessible and is just two miles off the N4 Dublin Sligo road.

Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

 

     ►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

     ►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

     ►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

     ►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

New Zealand Army soldiers carry away a simulated casualty at the Infantry Immersion Trainer here during Exercise Dawn Blitz 2013, June 13. The IIT gave the New Zealander's a taste of what they might encounter in future combat operations. Dawn Blitz 2013 is one of a series of amphibious training events on both coasts of the U.S. that take place annually. Exercises like Dawn Blitz provide realistic, relevant training necessary for effective global crisis response expected of the Navy and Marine Corps.

Silk tunic, with broderie anglais trim and bias tape edging. The stitching is brown because it won't dye, so I wanted to use a colour that would tone in afterwards. (In future I'll use cotton thread, but right now I'm using up the stash.)

Inspired by the amazing efforts of one Cary Norton, who constructed a working large-format camera out of legos and snapped one incredible picture of some woman named Ashley. I attempted to replicate the effect I loved so much in his picture with my own equipment.

 

The fine fellows in the medium format forum at Photo.net clued me in tremendously on how to get started, and here's (sort of) where I've ended up so far.

 

They generously shared so much new information and new ideas that I just had to do some tinkering, so yesterday morning I attempted to incorporate some of what they said into a test shoot with my favorite subject -- my endlessly patient wife.

 

Since one fellow clued me in further to the magic of diffuse sidelight, and because on this rainy North Carolina morning we had just about the right kind of effect, it seemed, I decided to take full advantage of "garage door light" in a literal sense. Our garage faces more or less east, and we do indeed get some great morning/early-afternoon light through the frosted panels toward the top of both doors.

 

So after moving aside some bikes and strollers and the like, I took another guy up on the suggestion of the 180mm, and numerous others' urging to use slow film and a tripod. As for a subject "lit well," I wasn't quite able to accomplish that, as I'm still acclimating to my flash and relied here on just the natural light and a white foamcore panel leaning up against a kayak at camera right. (Couldn't find my reflector disc.)

 

Looking at the results, though, I think it's apparent that they all gave great advice on lighting and composition (the dark background was supplied by a deflated blow-up mattress thrown over some stacks of storage bins, by the way).

 

Still, at least looking at this Polaroid test shot, I'm thinking I agree with one John A, who said camera characteristics were awfully meaningful in the shot I loved from the the Legotron. The light leaks just aren't there, though I may be able to try faking them digitally I suppose.

 

One chap astutely opined that what I was liking (perhaps) about the Ashley shot was that it had that fine-grained look of big-negative imagery, but combined with an imperfectness that's quite appealing. I think this shot, even on Polaroid, is still coming off comparatively "perfect and technical-looking." Maybe some of the other suggestions I got -- vaseline, condensation, camera shake, filters, etc -- will help in future experiments.

 

Oh, one funny thing: One fellow joked about Large Format's benefits -- mainly camera movements like tilt and shift -- being offset by the fact of those photographs taking longer to set up. In my case, what Lope and I pulled off in the garage may have been a *little* quicker than futzing around under a dark cloth, but with my amateur antics and tentative technique, not much! I already felt I was taxing my subject by asking her to hold still for a full second… (Opening the garage doors brought it down to only a 1/4-sec. exposure, which isn't such a challenge.)

 

As to the "long tonal range film" suggestion I heard, what you're seeing here doesn't quite qualify -- it's just the Fuji FP100B I had loaded in the Polaroid back for the RB. But this was just the test shot, and I followed it up with a (7x6, rather than square) exposure on real film afterward (Provia 100, actually). Looking forward to seeing how it comes out.

 

The whole process has been educational and fun so far, definitely. I wish I'd undertaken this process of trying to replicate an inspiring shot a long time ago.

The Finale to the BARC Club Car Championships Weekender at Brands Hatch and after a Very Thrilling set of both Qualifying Sessions and Races which took place on the Saturday it was Time once again for each Driver to strap in and get ready for some high speed Racing Action thought the Sunday.

The Britcar Endurance Trophy was the First up and it was time to see who could claim that elusive Pole Position and to see if anyone else could challenge the Top Three Drivers Lets see how things turned out.

 

In First Place was the Pairing Of (Datum Motorsport's Axel Van Nederveen and Adriano Medeiros) in their Ginetta G55A with a Best Lap Time of 52:193 and an Average Speed of 64.75mph. Congratulations Axel and Adriano a Really Fantastic Drive and A Super Victory.

 

In Second Place was (SVG's Mark Lee) in his Ginetta G56A with a Best Lap Time of 52.086 and an Average Speed of 64.70mph. Amazing Drive Mark Keeping that Ginetta on the Track and Taking Second Place while Nearly Matching the Speed of Axel and Adriano. Well Done.

 

In Third Place was (Terry Stephens) in his Peugeot 308 with a Best Lap Time of 53.421 and an Average Speed of 64.50mph. Well Fought Terry a Fantastic Finish in Third Place and Staying Ahead by just over 11 seconds to the Pair of Jasver and Bryan in 4th. Amazing Job.

The Junior Saloon Car Championship was Up Next and Even Though the Age Range of thease Next Drivers Taking to the Circuit Might Shock you at The Fact that Many of them are as Young as 15 Years of age don't be Fooled Because thease Guys Know how to Race Having been brought up from Carting since the age of 4. They are always a Fan Favourite and After Qualifying on the Saturday its Anyone's Game as to Who Wins and Who Losses in Thease Races.

 

In First Place was (Ruben Hage) in his Citroen Saxo VTR 1600 with a Best Lap Time of 59.967 and an Average Speed of 65.65mph. Congratulations Ruben What A Drive and an Incredible Run for First Place Fending off the Other On Coming Drivers. Truly a Championship Winning Drive.

 

In Second Place was (Harvey Caton) in his Citroen Saxo VTR 1600 with a Best Lap Time of 59.629 and an Average Speed of 65.64mph. Very Well Driven there Harvey Staying very Close to Ruben in First Place and Keeping Him on His Toes Thought the Entire Race.

 

In Third Place was (Charlie Hand) in his Citroen Saxo VTR 1600 with a Lap Time of 1:00.006 and an Average Speed of 65.57mph. Solid Third Place there Charlie Keep Up the Momentum and Never Give Up Chasing Your Dreams.

Finally it was Time for the Last Two Races of the Day the Kumo BMW Championship. Featuring The Makes and Models of Many BMW'S taking to the Circuit for Race 1. After a Busy Day Qualifying on Saturday Lets See what Each Driver Cando in The Frist of Two Races for their Championship.

 

In First Place was (Niall Bradley) in his BMW E46 M3 with a Best Lap Time of 50.920 and an Average Speed of 83.60mph. Brilliant Driving There Niall Pushing the Power of the BMW Engine to Max and Putting the Pedal to the Metal the Whole Race. A Superb Victory.

 

In Second Place was (Michael Vitulli) in his BMW E36 M3 3200 with a Best Lap Time of 51.158 and an Average Speed of 83.45mph. Another Incredible Driver Pushing Hard and Taking Second Place. Well Done Michael.

 

In Third Place was (James Card) in his BMW E46 M3 3200 with a Best Lap Time of 51.154 and an Average Speed of 83.42mph. Very Well Done their James Keep Pushing.

This is a photograph from the 4th Annual Multyfarnham (Multy) 5KM which was held in the village of Multyfarnham about 15KM west of Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 3rd June 2015 at 20:00. An incredible and unprecedented crowd of almost 300 participants took to the route including runners, joggers and walkers which was on an out-and-back course on beautiful country roads. The weather was perfect for racing and running. The fast course combined with the good weather conditions provided personal and seasonal bests for many of the participants. The GAA Club and Community Centre provided car-parking and the race headquarters. Overall this was a very well organised race event which on the evidence of tonight's race can grow even further in future years. As this and other photographs in this set shows there is nothing like an evening race in summer time in rural Ireland. Multyfarnham's setting amongst the rolling hills of north county Westmeath and not far from the shores of Lough Derravaragh provides a wonderful race setting. The village of Multy is easily accessible and is just two miles off the N4 Dublin Sligo road.

Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

 

     ►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

     ►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

     ►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

     ►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

本次展覽為非常廟藝文空間(以下簡稱VT)與德國藝術公寓(Apartment Of Art)三年計劃之一。兩年前VT與德國藝術公寓總監-拉斯科樸索(Lars Koepsel)為推廣台灣及德國兩地藝術家與藝術空間之間的交流,締訂為期三年合作計畫。兩地空間每年交換合作藝術家展覽、策展人、藝術家駐村等三階段合作方式。本次展覽檔期為計畫中的第二年,由德國藝術公寓總監-拉斯科樸索推薦新媒體藝術團隊「M+M」首度來台展出。

 

德國「M+M」為Marc Weis 和 Martin De Mattia 兩人所組成的新媒體科技藝術團隊,M+M多年來持續於國際間進行展演計畫。過去重要展覽節錄:1999年在義大利羅馬的Villa Massimo進行為期一年的駐村計畫,同年於威尼斯雙年展「義大利國家館」展出。2003年於ZKM卡爾斯魯厄藝術與媒體中心展出,2006年參加Lintz科技藝術節以及2015於盧森堡casino個展。

 

「M+M」兩位藝術家長期關注媒體中所產生的語彙,並分析影像媒體之間的運作,結合大眾社會對於影像媒體的交互機制,透過電影中畫面擷取並使用非線性的敘事方式,將虛構與現實的影像內容混合處理,作品內容帶有強烈情感,如恐懼、仇恨、愛情等,並透過虛實間的差異成為新的敘事方式。

 

本次將於VT展出系列作品「7 Tage」中兩件新作《Dienstag (Tuesday)》&《Freitag (Friday》,兩位藝術家挑選兩部經典電影-理髮師的男人(The hairdresser’s husband)與黑影(Tenebre)作為本次創作素材,作品影像中運用電影畫面對應一週的七天,並運用電影裡擷取部分畫面拼湊成每一天的生活景象,兩位藝術家各自將自行剪輯的影像運用雙投影同步裝置將兩影像並置,在大多數情況下,觀者將會看到這兩位藝術家都不約而同的就其類似情感內容做出對應畫面,細膩的處理家庭、人際關係以及生活中不確定性及矛盾狀態,擺盪在兩個非線性影像原件和翻拍之間的矛盾對抗。展覽中另外一件作品《kurz vor fünf (shortly before five)》則是將自2001年以來「7 Tage」系列中出現的電影場景運用電腦運算重新將影格輸出成290幀於平面畫面中,透過影像運算將3分多鐘影像畫面獨立,觀眾將可以發現運算過後的場景照片故事都在同一天的同一時間地點,透過運算影像畫面將可以看到不同的時間影像畫面聚落成同一影像,讓觀者重新於平面畫面重新審視影像中孤獨個體的趣味。

 

「7 Tage」系列作品自2009年來,逐段完成每段錄像影片,並於2015年發表了最新兩部新作《Dienstag (Tuesday)》&《Freitag (Friday》。本系列影像之中,除了相同的其他演員重複出現外,來自奧地利的演員Christoph Luser以精湛的演技表現出憂鬱詭譎的情緒變化,而體現了主角矛盾的異型建構的心理,投射非常輕微情緒以及揭示了人際關係中裂縫和固有的矛盾變化,無論是任何威脅與衝突的情緒反應,將在看似平靜的畫面帶來暗潮洶湧般的相互作用。

This exhibition is from one of the 3-year program between VT Artsalon(VT) and Apartment Of Art from German. VT and the director of Apartment of Art -Lars Koepsel have signed the contract for a “3-year program“ 2 years ago. The program is aim to promote the exchange in artist and art space between Taiwan and German. Each space will corporate in 3 stages every year, from exchanging the artist exhibition, curator to artist residency program. This exhibition is now in the 2nd-year. It was the director of Apartment of Art -Lars Koepsel, who recommended to exhibit the new media art group, named ”M+M” as their very first show in Taiwan.

 

Marc Weis and Martin De Mattia are a digital artists group named “M+M”, which use the new media in their project, from German. M+M has various international exhibition experience , which includes: the one-year residency program in Villa Massimo, Rome, Italy, back in 1999 and exhibited their work in Venice Biennale in the same year. They have also exhibited at ZKM in 2003 and participated the Ars Electronica Lintz in 2006. Their latest exhibition was at Casino, Luxembourg.

 

“M+M” have been focusing on the vocabulary produced from the media work, and analyze the operation between image media. They combined the public social consume system, and use non-way to describe things. They used film making skills such as camera movements and cuts to mix-up the fictional and the realistic image content. And also find out the new way to describe things through the difference between the fiction and reality.

 

”M+M” will be exhibit their new works in “7 Tage” (7 Days)series, which are 《Dienstag (Tuesday)》and《Freitag (Friday) 》. The artists picked two classic movie, includes《The hairdresser’s husband》and《Tenebre》as the elements. They named their works as“7 Tage” (7 Days), and make the image in their works able to correspond in 7 days a week. They have also excerpt some of the classic scenes from the epic movie as the everyday life in their works. From the artists remakes, cuts and the main actor’s view and mind changing from time to time; audience will get the new visual experience to re-conduct with the double projection device. The viewer will also find out the against between two non-linear original videos and conversion with the double channel device. And the other works named《kurz vor fünf (shortly before five)》in this exhibition have combined the movie scene and the computer operations and re-export the file fragmentation into 290 as a 2D picture. With the computer operations, they separated every scene in three minutes, which audience will find out the picture and the story are all at the same place and the same time in everyday. By gathering the video scene into on image, the viewers will discover the fun part in the isolation.

 

They have been shooting the ”7 Tage” series works for 7 years from 2009, and have also released the latest new works in recent, named 《Dienstag (Tuesday)》&《Freitag (Friday). The audience will get to see some of the actors repeatedly and the actor from Austria -Christoph Luse’s excellent performance skill, which he interpreted and showed the sad and odd emotional changes to incarnate the main character’s inconsistent mind structure. Whether is any threat or conflict emotion response, will all brings the audience the unexpected plot.

 

This exhibition will start from 22nd August to 19th September , and will be held an artist symposium on 15th August at Shih Chien University. The Artist M+M(Marc Weis, Martin De Mattia), curator Lars Koepsel and the director of the department of communication design- Wen-Chi, Chen will all participate the discussion.

“VT 3 Year Venture Project” was the first time VT Artsalon and Apartment of Art collaborated with an exchange project as a 3-year program. The program is now in the third stage in the second year, and the exhibition will start from 22nd August, 2015 till 19th September, which is going to exhibit the art groups “M+M”’s works (Marc Weis, Martin De Mattia) from German, recommended by the director of Apartment of Art- Lars Koepselfor for their first exposure in Asia.

 

Currently it is the second stage of the second year, beginning on June 27th in Apartment of Art, Munich, will be Isa Ho’s solo exhibition, “ Peony Pavilion”, this is also the first solo exhibition of Isa Ho in Germany.

 

VT has been dedicated to bring the Taiwanese contemporary art into the international art world, connecting with the international community through various art spaces, galleries, exhibitions constantly.

We are hoping to converge the power of arts groups in Taiwan and gather more visions in Taiwan to create the collaboration opportunity. We are looking forward to extend more possibility of Taiwanese art in future with these exchanging programs.

 

An Old London Bus led a procession of strikers to the Birmingham University Hospital where an impromptu rally was held with PCS, UNITE and UCU capturing both local and national media. This was then followed by an indoor rally addressed by speakers of all three unions.

 

Hospital Staff, College Lectures & Civil Servants (including Job Centres, Tax officers and Immigration Control Staff) took strike action today on May 10th.

 

Hospitals, Colleges, and all Government Departments could be closed this week as a result of industrial action on Thursday 10 May 2012.

 

The action will include PCS, Unite, and UCU unions who are taking action against the government’s decision to increase pension contributions and force their members to work longer before they can retire. PCS is also taking the action against pay freezes and jobs reductions.

The increased pension contributions have already taken place for some, these contributions could mean that these workers wages are reduced by as much as £125.00 a month.

 

Joe Rooney of the UCU said, “My members are incensed by these deductions, this is not because our scheme is in deficit in anyway, the money is being used to pay for debt that they did not create.”

 

Union members held demonstrations outside of Hospitals across the Midlands, the biggest of these will be held outside the University Hospital of Birmingham and the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham.

 

Robert Shaw an Official for Hospital workers from Unite the union commented, “Forcing members to work longer to get their pensions is not just unfair, it is plain wrong, and many get the feeling that this government will continue to move the ‘goalposts’ with the age of retirement if they are not challenged.”

 

This action follows the 30 November strike last year which saw millions of union members take action. Whilst some unions are not taking action this time, they could well join in future action planned for this Summer as their members have rejected the government’s slightly improved offer, and this includes UNISON, the largest public sector union.

 

Andrew Lloyd, Vice Chair of the Midlands TUC, stated, “The issue of Public sector pensions has not gone away for this government. The strike action on Thursday is living proof of that. We may well see more unions join in action over the Summer. It is not fair to make low paid workers pay more, work longer and get less at the end.”

It has been leaked to PCS that at Airports in the Midlands, to avoid any further bad news stories over waiting times for passengers at passport checking, those not taking the action will be focused purely on supporting passport control at the cost of no checks for Freight.

 

Eugene Kuisis and I were at primary school together in Pretoria, South Africa, and I last saw him at 53 Battalion HQ at Ondangwa, Namibia in about May 1980. Although we went to different schools, Kim Fischer and I moved in the same circles in high school, and shared some interesting adventures in the late-70's and early-80's. I last saw him in about 1985. Eugene shoots muzzle loaders and is the defending Long Range World Champion, in the replica class. He and the world champion South African team are in the UK to defend their titles at the "MLAIC 2011 8th World Long Range Championship" in Bisley between September 12 and 18, 2011. Kim lives just around the corner from the place and gave me a call to join him and Eugene at the Hunter's Lodge pub in Woking. We spent a good few hours catching up on the afternoon of September 11, 2011, and I look forward to more of the same in future.

Led by a New Orleans' style jazz funeral band several thousand people march from Marble Arch to Russell Square, where various ceremonies were conducted, mourning species lost and to be lost in future.

 

Extinction Rebellion stage 2 weeks of protests in London (and cities around the world) to force the government to tell the truth about the threats from climate change and biodiversity loss and declare an emergency, to commit to acting on it and to call a citizens assembly to assess how best to respond. Throughout, the protests were peaceful and good natured, with non-violent direct action a core tactic of Extinction Rebellion. Nonetheless by 16/10/19 the police reported that 1,600+ people had been arrested, many for obstructing the highway (eg lock-ons while lying in the road). As XR publicly say, their strategy aims at maximizing arrests to gain publicity and raise the isse of climate change in the media and public consciousness. Policing was much heavier compared to the April "rebellion", with pre-emptive arrests and raids on storage facilities. On 14/10/19 police expanded an order banning XR protests to include the whole of London. This ban has been widely criticised and may be subject to judicial review.

This decree of Emperor Franz Joseph I, published on 25 December 1857 in the Wiener Zeitung, formed the basis for the largest the surface concerning and architecturally most significant transformation of the Viennese cityscape. It was the palace of Archduke Albrecht (1817-1895), the Senior of the Habsburg Family Council, who as Field Marshal held the overall command over the Austro-Hungarian army. The close proximity of the palace to the imperial residence corresponded not only with Emperor Franz Joseph I and Archduke Albert with a close familial relationship between the owner of the palace and the monarch. Even the former inhabitants were always in close relationship to the imperial family, whether by birth or marriage. An exception here again proves the rule: Don Emanuel Teles da Silva Conde Tarouca (1696-1771), for which Maria Theresa in 1744 the palace had built, was just a close friend and advisor of the monarch. Silva Tarouca underpins the rule with a second exception, because he belonged to the administrative services as Generalhofbaudirektor (general court architect) and President of the Austrian-Dutch administration, while all other him subsequent owners were highest ranking military.

The era of stately representation with handing down their cultural values ​​found its most obvious visualization inside the palace through the design and features of the staterooms. After Palais Tarouca or tarokkisches house it was called Lorraine House, afterwards Duke Albert Palais and Palais Archduke Carl. For the state a special reference to the Habsburg past was certainly politically no longer opportune, which is why was decided to name the building according to the in it kept collection "Albertina".

This name derives from the term "La Collection Albertina" which had been used by the gallery Inspector Maurice von Thausing in 1870 in the Gazette des Beaux-Arts for the former graphics collection of Duke Albert. For this reason, it was the first time since the foundation of the palace that the name of the collection had become synonymous with the room shell. This is a photograph from the 4th Annual Multyfarnham (Multy) 5KM which was held in the village of Multyfarnham about 15KM west of Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 3rd June 2015 at 20:00. An incredible and unprecedented crowd of almost 300 participants took to the route including runners, joggers and walkers which was on an out-and-back course on beautiful country roads. The weather was perfect for racing and running. The fast course combined with the good weather conditions provided personal and seasonal bests for many of the participants. The GAA Club and Community Centre provided car-parking and the race headquarters. Overall this was a very well organised race event which on the evidence of tonight's race can grow even further in future years. As this and other photographs in this set shows there is nothing like an evening race in summer time in rural Ireland. Multyfarnham's setting amongst the rolling hills of north county Westmeath and not far from the shores of Lough Derravaragh provides a wonderful race setting. The village of Multy is easily accessible and is just two miles off the N4 Dublin Sligo road.

Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

 

     ►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

     ►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

     ►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

     ►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

This is a photograph from the finish of the 4th Annual Multyfarnham (Multy) 5KM which was held in the village of Multyfarnham about 15KM west of Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 3rd June 2015 at 20:00. An incredible and unprecedented crowd of almost 300 participants took to the route including runners, joggers and walkers which was on an out-and-back course on beautiful country roads. The weather was perfect for racing and running. The fast course combined with the good weather conditions provided personal and seasonal bests for many of the participants. The GAA Club and Community Centre provided car-parking and the race headquarters. Overall this was a very well organised race event which on the evidence of tonight's race can grow even further in future years. As this and other photographs in this set shows there is nothing like an evening race in summer time in rural Ireland. Multyfarnham's setting amongst the rolling hills of north county Westmeath and not far from the shores of Lough Derravaragh provides a wonderful race setting. The village of Multy is easily accessible and is just two miles off the N4 Dublin Sligo road.

The explaination is very simple.

The next 5 images where taken during the only quality light we have had for at least a month! and all within 5 miles of home! .

I think trees are much more interesting in winter.

Also the first time I have used Capture 1 to process my Fuji Raw files which will be my "go to" in future as I think they are superior to Camera Raw conversions.
