Ma toute première œuvre côté recto, je l’ai réalisée à l’école maternelle de mon quartier (Place de l’hôpital général à Valenciennes dans le Nord !!!), dans les années 1960-1961. J’avais deux ans à deux ans et demi. J’ai souvenir d’en avoir fait d’autres, comme une rose sur pied avec une collerette en plâtre, peinte en rouge, avec des points noir, jaune, blanc et ? Mais je pense que ça a été perdu ? Il me reste à la maison, un grand coussin que j’ai décoré d’un voilier en tissu, c’est de la même époque. Je me revois comme si c’était hier en train de travailler dessus.

I was walking down the street on my way to see the kiddo at West Penn. I must have walked by this foot impression in the sidewalk several times, and finally noticed it. Thankfully, I had my camera. Two gentlemen nearby gave each other a puzzled look when I pulled out my camera and started taking pictures of the sidewalk. One shrugged and said, "Photographer." I don't consider myself one, but I took it as a compliment. This was during the Bloomfield photo stroll, so I felt like one of the gang even when I was shooting by myself.
