I have to confess. I am quite impressed with the performance of Canon 50 mm f/1.8 lens. Recently i have spent most of my time photographing using this lens and the results are pretty amazing. At all depths, the results are wonderful and colorful. You can see how colorful it can get by looking at this Photograph. My only rant is the lens flare. At times it is bit annoying but compared the price paid for this lens, it is tolerable.
Again, this is Longfellow bridge during dusk, shot from Esplande. No processing except brightness and contrast adjustments.

I tried a less clearly defined result whilst taking some photos of the autumn leaves in Westridge Woods last week. Some were taken with a 500mm mirror lens to give the unusual 'doughnut' out of focus highlights.
