Part of an ongoing experiment with image manipulation: The images are the result of a 2 stage process. First, a photo is taken of a moving subject. What results is a blurred image, the distortion magnified by the grain and contrast achieved by overdevelopment of the film in the darkroom. Already the face or body has been transformed by the simple act of movement. Then in the second stage, the photo is printed. Sometimes thick glossy varnish is applied across the whole surface of the image, or alternatively, the photo is simply printed onto glossy paper. This is when more magic happens. Shining light directly onto the surface of the paper, the image is transformed again. This time the transforming agent is light. The surface of the photograph interacts with what is contained within the image. A final photo is taken.

made from my favorite dead rubbertree leaf.

I re-visited the leaf after plunging into playing for MC#08, the !MasterClass! topic, the Small World of Macro Florals.

The !tutor! suggested how this leaf would throw intriquing shadows..

Here, you see both shadows And reflections in the glossy photo paper ground the leaf sits on.

About

Homage to M.C.Escher.

This is my first post of an image made with e-fxg, a piece of software that I've written myself to do image manipulation, e-fxg is short for Erroba's effects generator ;-)

In the future I will upload many images created with the aid of e-fxg, to show the endless possibilities of this effects generator.

° e-fxg is entirely based on mathematical functions, each effect is pure mathematics, nothing more.

° e-fxg supports complex numbers.

° e-fxg is plugin based and has no notion what so ever of the actual formulas being applied, all a plugin does is provide the mathematical formulas to be used as an effect on the image.

° A plugin can expose properties to e-fxg, which automatically generates a user interface for these properties, so that parameters that influence the calculation can be tuned by the user to alter the effects.

The shot

The shot used to produce this image can be found here Gerechtshof.

Effect applied : Holomorphic transform

The formula of the holomorphic transform :

Pixel defined by x,y :

Complex number z = x+iy;

z=z+ (0.01 -.1i ) / z;

New pixel value taken from 'pixel' :

x = real part of z

y = imaginary part of z

Formula applied for 1 frame.

Photoshop

Nothing.

You

If you are interested in e-fxg as a user, please let me know and also give me an idea of what you would pay for a copy ( in US$ or € please ).

If you are a company and are interested to buy e-fxg to commercialize it, you can contact me through my profile.

All comments, criticism and tips for improvements are ( as always ) welcome.

**** Disclaimer ****

I love long exposures, everything to do with night time, the dark, sunrise and sunset.

I like to take pictures mainly at night , sometimes during the day and in dull and fading light and I will sometimes display the time and date the picture was taken too.

I tend to take pictures of Light trails, Motorway traffic, Street lights, Buildings, Landscapes, Bokeh, Night bokeh and Hexagonal Night Bokeh in England.

All of my pictures are 100% natural and untouched in every way without ever been Photo shopped or altered or messed about with in anyway whatsoever, No multi layered photography, No HDR's and No image manipulation of any kind, all of my pictures look just the way they did when I saw them at the time of taking and I'm VERY PROUD of that.

I don't do any photo processing at all, I don't even own any photo software.

All of my starbursts are all 100% natural without using any filters or anything else, as is all my bokeh, night bokeh and hexagonal night bokeh, its all natural, no funny gimmicks at all.

I don't do anything with my pictures apart from take them and then upload them , 99.99999% of my pictures don't even get cropped , they are all 100% natural and untouched and then uploaded.

All of my pictures are copy right, © All rights reserved, you MAY NOT use any of my pictures without my written consent, you also MAY NOT change, alter, adjust or rearrange my pictures in anyway what so ever.

It's been a while....but when you have nothing to say it's better to keep quiet and observe.

This was taken last year at the Pleasureland Theme Park in Skegness, Lincolnshire.

We'd only just been released from Coronavirus restrictions so this was only our second holiday adventure of the year. Unbeknown to us at the time, it was also to prove our last of 2021.

As with previous images presented in my photostream, I continue to experiment with ICM and image manipulation techniques to try to achieve the look I want.

Sorry, you guys. This stuff just has to come out every once in a while. This is really a creepy crawlers cube.

Feeling a little zapped from all the stuff going on. Perhaps I need a short vacation?

This time last year, I was contemplating perspective.

PS - thanks again to Rogey1 for the challenge of doing more image manipulation!

Details and History

The Wikimedia Commons website offers a multitude of historical images with no restrictions on use. This 1897 James M. Davis stereoview, published by B. W. Kilburn, shows a scene titled Say that again, and I'll dip you in, Atlantic City, N.J.

Notes on design

Though this looks spontaneous it is framed with the lady oriented along the diagonal, seemingly by design (compare with the original).
