I decided to to try my first foggy car light trails on a roundabout i have took car light trails on before just without the fog.

I think they turned out ok but the fog was a little too thick i think.

I will include the light trails picture of this roundabout without the fog.

I love long exposures, everything to do with night time, the dark, sunrise and sunset.

I like to take pictures mainly at night , sometimes during the day and in dull and fading light and I will sometimes display the time and date the picture was taken too.

I tend to take pictures of Light trails, Motorway traffic, Street lights, Buildings, Landscapes, Bokeh, Night bokeh and Hexagonal Night Bokeh in and around the North East of England.

All of my pictures are 100% natural and untouched in every way without ever been Photo shopped or altered or messed about with in anyway whatsoever, No multi layered photography, No HDR's and No image manipulation of any kind, all of my pictures look just the way they did when I saw them at the time of taking and I'm VERY PROUD of that.

I don't do any photo processing at all, I don't even own any photo software.

All of my starbursts are all 100% natural without using any filters or anything else, as is all my bokeh, night bokeh and hexagonal night bokeh, its all natural, no funny gimmicks at all.

I don't do anything with my pictures apart from take them and then upload them , 99.99999% of my pictures don't even get cropped , they are all 100% natural and untouched and then uploaded.

These 9 kaleidoscope images were created online with jbum's new online toy, an application to create kaleidoscope images from an uploaded photo. I used my favorite camera-toss style photo of Christmas lights from the series posted on Sunday this week. See this link for the original photo used. And then see this link to the online application at KrazyDad.com and this link to the Mini-Kaleid group pool on flickr. Thanks to Brenda Anderson for sharing her image and her links to this technique. And, as always, a big THANK YOU to jbum!

No image manipulation here, this is the real pumpkin orange sunset on Halloween night 2005 in Denver Colorado.

There is neither image manipulation, nor glue, nor magic. Only forces acting.

GhostWorks Texture Comp #6

Downtown Petoskey, MI.

Even at this stage of my life I am willing to change my ways - at least in photography.

Less than a decade age I firmly believed that digital manipulation of images was something that I would never do. I still decry extensive manipulation of images that seems to be the norm in fashion and product photography.

However, nowadays I am happy to mess with my images - to the extend of my hamfisted capabilities.

In this triptych the middle image is the original with minor LR adjustments.

The B&W conversion was done with Silver Efex Pro 2.

The bottom image was achieved by combining the top two images in PS.

A very similar result would likely be achieved just by desaturating the original - but it was more fun this way:)

Image manipulation:

Two different photos, fireworks added to the city scape.

That time of year again, celebrations galore across the country, lots of ways to make it memorable and special!

Nice weather around here this year, in the 70's and a breeze off of the lake tonight for the fireworks extravaganza.

The parking lot will be full, people milling all around the downtown area and waterfront for the day and evening.

Wish you all well, especially those in the US celebrating the holiday! : )

Birka Queen was a cruise ship ordered by Birka Cruises but never put in traffic by them. Instead she was sold to Majesty Cruise Line, renamed Royal Majesty and, as far as I know, never returned to Sweden or Åland again.

Who could resist a cupa in the AM?

In Explore - September 4, 2007

An image manipulation of three photos. The toy was photographed on a carpet at home. I brushed-in some beach sand from a photo of Shoal Bay in Anguilla and a sunset from St. Maarten from a few years ago. The overall comp was then softened and texturized.

Playing around with a photos and text on Sunday Morning, I created an important protocol. Okay, an unimportant protocol. Well, not actually a protocol. Fugetaboutit!

Before the explosion of Scanners,Photoshop and other image manipulation tools, I used to do collages, often using Ephemera such as this.

Finding ways to isolate areas that I wanted to capture

was a challenge for me back then-

often leaving me frustrated with the final result.

Due to todays "Snow Day" in Chicago, and not being able to safely drive to my studio (and back) I chose to go through some older files- and ran across these beauties, that I thought I'd share w/ my flickr homies!

The other aspect to these scanned label images is their complete innocence, in the imagery displayed. For not only were these products created to "lighten" the skin of people of color (which I really don't get - White folks want to tan and look darker- people of color want to look "fairer"- ain't nobody really happy w/what they were born with!!) they were created to be marketed (a word that wasn't used back in the '40's and '50's) to a targeted audience....

Enjoy!

Technical trivia

The source PNG file was enhanced in HSL colorspace (Picturewindow Pro) by adjusting the luminance channel color curve. Regions of insignificant intensity were cut then the remaining data was expanded to fill the window. Aggressive noise reduction (Noiseware pro) smoothed dark areas by eliminating white dust and specks. Subsequent image manipulations and animated gif generation done with StereoPhotoMaker, a freeware program by Masuji Suto & David Sykes.

It started out as a poppy photograph, see earlier pictures.

Bit of image manipulation in PS

Harvesting machines coming through all day and I thought, what would happen if I would put several longer exposures over another and...

... this is what I came up with. Maybe night is not the best time of a day to shoot this, but I learned a bit better to use GNU Image Manipulation Program ;)

Picture taken on the 3rd of February 2013 and as you can see its £1.32p a litre for unleaded petrol.

And at the time of writing this ( 28th December 2014 ) the price is £1.10p per litre for unleaded petrol.

My cousin, Frank, again, who acts under the name Frank Aard. This time, his new haircut and his bowler hat, from his ridiculously large hat collection, suggested a quick Stan Laurel impression. We didn't play with it to the extent we could have, but it did fuel some digital tweaking, once I got it into Adobe's Photoshop CS2. Layers, layers and More layers... then I'm possessed, eh?

The rising sun decided to just light up this tree!

This is the first site i have been able to find that has both on and off slip roads visible together with the motorway sandwiched in the middle.

While i was taking pictures at this site i missed a police car with its bule lights on coming off at the left hand slip road and then turning right to go over the bridge, i think he must have been going to a burglary in progress because he only had his blue lights on and nothing else all the way.

This is the 3rd time i have been taking light trails and the emergency services have gone by, and its the 3rd time i have missed them all.
