No image manipulation here. Just taken in B&W. The eerie mist and spotlights give this a Gotham City feel

In the context of the contemporary ease of image manipulation, it is important to note that the idea of manipulating an image, pictorial or otherwise, is not a modern invention. We as humans present images to each other on a daily basis through sensory perception. These images form the basis of our assumptions about who others are and inform our daily lives. It is of nothing new to say that we as humans then moderate our own image we give to the world in order to influence others perceptions of ourselves. What is more interesting in the contemporary context is how this phenomenon translates into the new techno-social sphere. With the advent of Facebook and other social media becoming intrinsic to our everyday social interaction, we as humans manipulate our own image virtually to display the character traits we wish others to see. What is further interesting is to note how this changes between different social groups. This series of images deals with the different images presented to Family, Employers, and Friends. What is interesting to consider is if this forced fragmentation of identity is indicative of a whole, or similarly fragmented individual.
