ENG: As at so many piers around the world, here in the Bay of Lübeck you can breathe in the pleasant scent of freedom and feel the fine tingle of wanderlust. Thus, the somewhat aging 220-meter-long wooden walkway leads one out to sea, opening up views of the Baltic Sea and the vast horizon. Arriving at the head of the pier, a few benches to rest on or the passenger ships await you. These then take you to Grömitz, Travemünde, Haffkrug, Timmendorfer Strand or Kühlungsborn, for example, in the high season. As I said, the bridge is quite aged and so the eye is a little sad when you compare it with the Kellenhusen or Timmendorf pier. But the beach, the beautiful promenade and the associated town can score points.

GER: Wie an so vielen Seebrücken der Welt, kann man auch hier in der Lübecker Bucht den angenehmen Duft von Freiheit einatmen und das feine Kribbeln von Fernweh spüren. So führt einen der etwas in die Jahre gekommene 220 Meter lange Holzweg aufs Meer hinaus und öffnet den Blick auf die Ostsee und den weiten Horizont. Am Kopf der Seebrücke angekommen, erwarten einen ein paar Bänke zum Verweilen oder die Fahrgastschiffe. Diese schippern einen dann zum Beispiel in der Hauptsaison nach Grömitz, Travemünde, Haffkrug, Timmendorfer Strand oder nach Kühlungsborn. Wie gesagt, die Brücke ist ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen und so ist das Auge doch ein wenig traurig, wenn man den Vergleich mit der Kellenhusener oder Timmendorfer Seebrücke zieht. Aber dafür kann der Strand, die schöne Promenade sowie der dazugehörige Ort punkten.

ENG: A snapshot of Berlin Alexanderplatz. Leaving the subway station, I discovered these two turtledoves (in German: Turteltaube) and found the dancing of the two strange birds somehow amusing. Was it just jealousy or a love dance? ☻

GER: Ein Schnappschuss vom Berliner Alexanderplatz. Beim verlassen des U-Bahnhofs entdeckte ich diese zwei Turteltauben und fand das getänzel der zwei schrägen Vögel irgendwie amüsant. War das nur Futterneid oder doch ein Liebestanz? ☻

You can see the Marienberg fortress with its vineyard. I photographed this from the outermost edge of the fortress wall.
The top sight of Würzburg. The Marienberg Fortress is a former hilltop castle and a former prince-bishop's palace on the Marienberg 100 meters above the river Main in Würzburg with its vineyard slope. It also bears the name Festung Unser Frauen Berg. An older designation of the fortress, which served as the seat of the former government of the Würzburg high monastery until the 18th century, was Marienberg Castle. The fortress was rebuilt several times in the course of history. The oldest still preserved parts are from 704 (late Bronze Age), the small Marienkirche.

Zu sehen ist die Festung Marienberg mit seinen Weinrebenhang. Fotografiert habe ich dies von der äußersten Kante der Festungsmauer.
Die top Sehenswürdigkeit von Würzburg. Die Festung Marienberg ist eine ehemalige Höhenburg und ein ehemaliges fürstbischöfliches Schloss auf dem Marienberg 100 Meter oberhalb des Flusses Mains in Würzburg mit seinen Weinrebenhang. Sie trägt auch den Namen Festung Unser Frauen Berg. Eine ältere Bezeichnung der bis ins 18. Jahrhundert als Sitz der ehemaligen Regierung des Hochstift Würzburgs dienenden Anlage war Schloss Marienberg. Die Festung wurde im Laufe der Geschichte mehrfach umgebaut. Die ältesten noch erhaltenen Teile sind von 704 (späten Bronzezeit), die kleine Marienkirche.
ENG: The sea. The forest. And you. Moin, Moin in the Baltic seaside resort Kellenhusen. And yes, we totally enjoyed it there. A not so crowded beach and in addition a nice looking pier. The new pier was inaugurated in June 2007. It offers with three "theme islands" possibilities to relax and swim. Smaller ships can dock at the pier head, which improves the tourism of the place by better connections with the big neighbors like Lübeck or Travemünde and Fehmarn. In addition, you can get married on the pier and since 2019 it has been illuminated in the evening with a special lighting concept.

GER: Das Meer. Der Wald. Und Du. Moin, Moin im Ostseebad Kellenhusen. Und ja, wir haben es dort total genossen. Ein nicht so überfüllter Strand und dazu noch eine schön anzusehende Seebrücke. Die neue Seebrücke wurde im Juni 2007 eingeweiht. Diese bietet mit drei „Themeninseln“ Möglichkeiten zum Entspannen und Baden. Am Seebrückenkopf können kleinere Schiffe anlegen, was den Tourismus des Ortes durch bessere Verbindungen mit den großen Nachbarn wie Lübeck oder Travemünde und Fehmarn verbessert. Zudem kann man auf der Seebrücke heiraten und seit 2019 wird sie abends mit einem besonderen Lichtkonzept illuminiert.

GER: Meine Entspannungsbank für die kleine Pause zwischendurch auf Arbeit. Einfach mal kurz an der frischen Luft durchatmen und neue Energie tanken, dann kann‘s weiter gehen.
ENG: The Lübeck Lions are animal statues depicting life-size lions, which on the one hand symbolize Lübeck's origin as a lion city, but also stand for its fortitude as such. Two of them have gained worldwide fame due to their placement in front of Lübeck's landmark Holstentor. The right lion which is here in the picture looks as if he is examining every visitor. The left one which is not in the photo is about 3 meters away and seems to be taking a nap. That's why I chose the one on the right. ☻
The merchant Johann Daniel Jacobj had the two resting lions made in iron casting by the Royal Prussian Iron Foundry in the middle of the 19th century and had them placed in front of his house. (...) After they were housed in Lübeck's St.-Annen-Museum after the end of the war, they have been resting on low stone pedestals out of town at the end of the small park in front of the Holsten Gate since 1949.

GER: Die Lübecker Löwen sind Tierstatuen, die lebensgroße Löwen darstellen, die einerseits an Lübecks Entstehung als Löwenstadt symbolisieren, aber auch für die Wehrhaftigkeit als solche stehen. Zwei von ihnen haben durch ihre Platzierung vor dem Lübecker Holstentor mit dem Wahrzeichen weltweite Bekanntheit erlangt. Den rechten Löwen der hier im Bild zu sehen ist, sieht so aus, als ob er jeden Besucher begutachtet. Der linke der nicht auf dem Foto ist, ist etwa 3 Meter entfernt und scheint einen Mittagsschlaf zu machen. Deshalb habe ich den rechten gewählt. ☻
Der Kaufmann Johann Daniel Jacobj ließ sich die beiden ruhenden Löwen Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts durch die Königlich Preußische Eisengießerei in Eisenguss anfertigen und ließ sie vor seinem Haus aufstellen. (…) Nachdem sie nach Kriegsende im Lübecker St.-Annen-Museum untergebracht waren, ruhen sie seit 1949 auf niedrigen steinernen Sockeln stadtauswärts am Ende der kleinen Parkanlage vor dem Holstentor.

The Waltershofer harbour used to be home to almost 4000 people until the great storm tide of 1962 and the expansion of the harbour turned the Elbe island into an industrial quarter. Today Waltershof is the smallest district in Hamburg, at least in terms of population: only two people are officially at home in the district, which consists of Parkhafen harbour in the north, Petroleumhafen harbour in the west and Waltershofer Hafen harbour in the southeast. But amateur photographers and ship spotters get their money's worth here between the romance of seafaring and the banging of containers colliding with each other. On the Bubendey shore, for example, you have a magnificent view of the container giants in front of the panorama of the city.

GER: Zu sehen sind einige Kräne des Hamburger EuroGate Container Terminals. Fotografiert habe ich die Landzunge von der HVV Fahrgastfähre 62 aus.
Der Waltershofer Hafen war früher einmal auch Heimat für knapp 4000 Menschen, bis die große Sturmflut von 1962 und der Ausbau des Hafens aus der Elbinsel ein Industrieviertel machten. Heute ist Waltershof zumindest einwohnertechnisch das kleinste Stadtviertel Hamburgs: Lediglich zwei Menschen sind offiziell in dem Stadtteil zu Hause, der aus dem Parkhafen im Norden, dem Petroleumhafen im Westen und dem Waltershofer Hafen im Südosten besteht. Doch Hobby-Fotografen und Shipspotter kommen hier zwischen Seefahrtsromantik und dem Knallen der aufeinanderprallenden Container voll auf ihre Kosten. Am Bubendey-Ufer zum Beispiel hat man einen grandiosen Blick auf die Containerriesen vor dem Panorama der Stadt.

He was on the road with his Sony Alpha 7 and I was once again with him on my smartphone. ☻
The House of World Cultures (former name: Congress Hall) was the US-American contribution to the 1957 International Building Exhibition. The technically revolutionary building was declared a gift from America to its friend West Berlin and was built on the south bank of the Spree in the Tiergarten. The Berlin vernacular soon aptly named the building "Pregnant Oyster". The building also produced a sad headline, because on May 21, 1980, during a press conference, the southern part of the roof edge collapsed due to a structural failure.

GER: Letzten Donnerstag war ich mal wieder mit meinem Arbeitskollegen in Berlin Mitte unterwegs um ein paar Fotos zu machen. [https://www.flickr.com/photos/95880165@N08/] ist leider nur sehr selten auf Flickr unterwegs, da er eine andere Plattform bevorzugt, glaube 500px oder so. Er war mit seiner Sony Alpha 7 unterwegs und ich mal wieder mitbedenkendem Smartphone. ☻
Das Haus der Kulturen der Welt (früherer Name: Kongresshalle) war der US-amerikanische Beitrag zur Internationalen Bauausstellung 1957. Das technisch revolutionäre Gebäude wurde als Geschenk Amerikas an das befreundete West-Berlin deklariert und entstand am Südufer der Spree im Tiergarten. Der Berliner Volksmund nannte das Gebäude bald treffend "Schwangere Auster". Eine traurige Schlagzeile produzierte das Haus ebenfalls, denn am 21. Mai 1980 stürzte der südliche Teil des Dachrandes während einer Pressekonferenz durch einen Statikfehler ein.
ENG: The Movie Theater at Friedrichshain (short: FaF) is a cinema in Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg district of Pankow, located in the Bötzowviertel on the edge of the eponymous People''s Park Friedrichshain. Built in 1924/1925, the neoclassical building is a listed building and is still used today as a cinema with 5 screening rooms and a total of 864 seats.

GER: Das Filmtheater am Friedrichshain (kurz: FaF) ist ein Kino im Berliner Ortsteil Prenzlauer Berg des Bezirks Pankow, das sich im Bötzowviertel am Rande des namensgebenden Volksparks Friedrichshain befindet. Das 1924/1925 errichtete neoklassizistische Gebäude steht unter Denkmalschutz und wird heute noch als Kino mit 5 Sälen und insgesamt 864 Sitzplätzen genutzt.
Und was lief bei meiner Vorführung? James Bond 007 - Keine Zeit zu sterben!
