Decay of these dead trees - looks like a storm hit the righthand one. The animals have eaten the bark of the left tree which has probably killed it. Just seconds later some lovely horses were frisky and playful but I had switched to video to capture them, but would have been nice to have them in a still shot.

ENG: The Lübeck Cathedral (also called Dom zu Lübeck) is the first large brick church building on the Baltic Sea and, at around 130 meters long, one of the longest brick churches. The cathedral was consecrated in 1247. Patrons of the Protestant church are St. John the Baptist and St. Blasius (as in Brunswick Cathedral), Mary and St. Nicholas.
Reconstruction after the Second World War took several decades, as priorities here tended to be the rebuilding of Lübeck's Marienkirche. Initially, only the two towers were rebuilt. The final reconstruction was not completed until 1982.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning on this storm but it weakened and moved south into Colorado at the last minute. I received only a trace of rain. The threatening looking shelf cloud caused winds to pick up briefly as it passed through.
Rhapsody looking funky and greeting folks with her foal, out of shot.
Think I was very lucky to catch her with the hair flying around !!
For those folks from Windsor Photographic Society will know who owns this horse or have a good idea.
We dropped in to her new farm out in the sticks of Devon with views of Dartmoor in the distance, on our way down to Woolacombe which made a very welcome break.
It was a glorious day and a chance to wander around some of the ancient woodlands down to a river on the boundary.
Perfect escape to the country but will need wellies and full waterproof coats for the wet periods from the westerly winds that blow through.
A lone palm stands as a sentinel, guarding an empty parking lot for a doomed warehouse. The building and the fence were removed two weeks after i took this photograph. The palm endures.

I only had the phone with me while waiting to use the loo when the portal opened up out to sea. I had time to shoot just three frames before the spectacle was gone.
Previously posted one of the other frames but this one's better. Other frame has been deleted.

The leather couch in the den of my mother's house is a cozy spot for reading or a nap, especially with the morning sun streaming in. The winking woman in the upper left-hand corner is a portrait my mother painted of her mother. This expression is how I remember her best. Bayside, Queens, NYC -- January 27, 2022

This is an iPhone pic also posted to my IG feed. I really do like that 13mm equivalent lens on the back - shooting in 4:3 really helps as well because the 4:5 crop for IG is super simple/WYSIWY(almost)G.
iPhone 11 Pro Max .5 lens, captured with Halide and edited in Snapseed. Not as sharp as it could be but thems the breaks :-)

Dredging 7,000 tons of sand to build foundations for a new RNLI Lifeboat Station at Wells Beach.
The new lifeboat is going to be jet propelled and can launch itself into and out of the lifeboat station apparently.
I am not sure if I believe this but it will save them 10 minutes lifesaving time.
Just would not fancy standing behind that when it powers up to rocket out of the station. Hopefully someone will have opened the front doors first before hitting the ignition button!!

ENG: Hello dear ones,
We look back on a challenging year 2020. But we all learned to appreciate what we have in our lives more than ever before: our own health and that of our fellow human beings, our freedoms in everyday life and our support in friendships and family.
Therefore, at the end of this extraordinary year, let us pause, be grateful for all that is good and existing in our lives, and look forward to 2021 full of confidence and hope.
And therefore we wish you and your family a blessed Christmas full of warmth, health and cohesion.
All our best regards,
the Ondré [ANBerlin].
