I found this Common Lime Butterfly (Papilio demoleus) sleeping on a shrub in early morning.

I want so much to be included into women's activities--kaffeeklatches, luncheons, bridal showers, baby showers, just chatting girl-to-girl--yet, except for brief snatches, that has been beyond me. Is it impossible for a male, despite his womanly appearance, to be included into the sorority of women? Am I forever to be seeking something which is impossible, no matter my degree of expertise in femulation?

I am trying and trying and trying. I will not give up, but it does get harder as the years go on.

I see me through your eyes

Breathing new life, flying high

Your love shines the way into paradise

So I offer my life as a sacrifice

I live through your love

another shot from a relaxing day : )

Just after a dog ran over and trod on the bellows of my pola : ( its okay though I think he will survive!

I feel stunning

And entrancing

Feel like running and dancing for joy

For I'm loved

By a pretty, wonderful boy!

I had a lot of fun trying to give the office the look of a suitably messy place of work. From the outside, the large windows give a nice view of the interior.

I remember the days when the coffee was brewing in the kitchen and the jasmine was freshly picked after a morning walk.

Having breakfast before school and running out the door so as not to be late.

Coming home to hear tales about the days when…

The days that will never return but that are etched in our memories

Thoughts drifting back to the past because of a scent

It triggered story upon story

A smile starts to be drawn on the face,

Those were the days the sun shone brightly and life was all about the games

About breathing the fresh air and appreciating every single part of life.

Now that summer is here and the Jasmine’s are blooming,

I remember her voice, the voice of kindness and understanding,

She held my hand and placed some flowers in them…

I breathe in today the scent of the past, remembering the days when…

This is the "Konica I" (aka "Konica Standard"). It is a 35mm rangefinder camera which was made in Japan by Konica from 1947 to 1959-60. This particular example was made after August 1951 and before 1959.

Different versions of the Konica I were produced from the late 40s to the late 50s, each with slight variations or minor changes in design. Konica I's made after 1950 featured a Bulb and 1/500 sec shutter setting, a K-type sync post (for a flash attachment), and the "Made in occupied Japan" label on the bottom of the camera was changed to "Made in Japan". After August 1951, an f-stop of 2.8 was added, the name of the lens was changed from "Hexar" to "Hexanon", and the viewfinder was slightly improved. The Konica I was also re-released under different names, for example, in 1950 it was marketed for a short time as the "Synchro Konica". Konica later released updated versions of the Konica I such as the "Konica II" in 1951 and the "Konica III" in 1956.

The camera's shutter speed, aperture setting and focus are all manual. The camera itself it completely mechanical with no internal electronics or batteries. The metal body gives it a heavy and well-built feel.

A downlodable PDF for the "Konica I" (the f/2.8 version) can be found at:

Touch of England

my favorite Harry Potter and red call-box I've seen once in real in Malta.

this little call-box is from there:)

I thought I had better put a color photo out. ( but darn it, its not going to be very colorful !) Taking this photo I got caught. Down a quiet blacktop road in the morning I seen this house and knew that the still pond beside it would hold a reflection of the old place. I climbed 2 pipe gates to get there and a truck drove by and stopped at our car in the entranceway, so I quickly packed up and headed back and my wife was at the car talking to him. When I arrived I apologized, but I knew this was a special oppurtunity and he didn't mind at all. He was flattered that someone was even interested enough to take its picture. Got permission to return also with IR when the leaves fill out. Could of went the other way. This is in Lewis Co. Missouri.

i've been away too long and need to catch up on my friends!!! so i will be flying in an looking around and making ooh and ahh sounds!!! i hope everyone had a wonderful holiday or great weekend! we are having a blizzard here so i am grounded!!!

One day last April I waited outside this fox den to see if any would come out. I even set up a lawn chair for the wait. After 15 minutes this one popped out and looked right at me. He walked around for a bit, always coming back to check me out. I took about 75 pictures.

I used my Pentax K7 and Pentax 55-300mm lens to make this image. Aperture 3 was used for processing.

From young, I was told that wishing upon a shooting star makes the wish come true.

It is believed to have originated in Europe, when Greek astronomer Ptolemy, around AD 127-151, wrote that the Gods occasionally, out of curiosity, even boredom, peer down at the earth from between the spheres, and stars sometimes slip out of this gap, becoming visible as shooting stars.

Shooting stars are hence an indication that the Gods are now paying attention to whatever you would ask for.

For general, people usually close their eyes and make a wish. However isn't this simple everywhere!

In Chile, for instance, when you spot a shooting star, you must pick up a stone simultaneously while making a wish. If you’re in the Philippines, you must tie a knot in your handkerchief instead (too bad if you don't have one with you!)

Lastly always make your wish something positive and never make a wish that will harm anyone else - ever!

I never took this photo ,my wife did while I was out fishing. This is the forth and clyde canal ,just a wonderful place in late evening .No fish was caught ...

I'm very fond of Audi... this Audi RS4 B7 is one of their most beautiful sedans.

It handles like a wild horse, I really have to stay focused all the time, but it's amazing what you can do with this car.

I love to work hard, and everytime I drive this car I feel extremely girly, and I lòve the engine sound!

I quit my job. Time to get back into photography.

I love my goofball! He's so silly. He went to the vet a couple weeks ago. He had his teeth cleaned and had bloodwork done. Everything looked great. No more vaccines for my boys. The only one I have to give is rabies, as mandated by our county. As per CMACC rules, I can't foster dogs unless all my guys are vaccinated.....and you know how I feel about fostering. I'm glad my vet is coming around to my view on the necessity and frequency of vaccines. There's no need to assault an immune system that's already protected.

I am crazy for long drives at night. Some nights i just take the car and go for a city ride for nothing but pleasure...

A million years ago, I had admired some bunnies on Eartha's stream -- they were the same ones we had as Easter decorations when I was little that I had LOVED.

When I was little, if there was a picture that I loved, I would just stare at it fascinated, forever. The Time Life books about birds (particularly the ones where the owl is eating the snake -- ewww, gross!), the illustrations in my Childcraft books, the photos in my dad's paperback copy of Scapegoat (the story of the murder of the Lindbergh baby -- scary!)... and this bunny.

I'd forgotten all about it until I saw it in Eartha's pictures, and when I admired it, she sent it to me.

And it took me forever to upload it on here, but the little bunny beckoned today, and i wanted to say a public thank you to Miss Eartha, and I will see you on the 4th!!!

xoxoxo

I just love Valentine's day!

i feel so happy and free again. Today is my first day of my holidays.

bad things are over now. i succeed the past week.

isn´t it a perfect day for some sundown-magic?

here its freezing cold and extremely rainy - in May!

i´ll catch up with your streams tonight ♥

I had these three images from two days ago ready to post yesterday, but I overslept by about an hour and a half, which left me just 27 minutes from waking up suddenly and actually leaving the house!! This is always my biggest concern on any Count day - will I wake up in time or might I sleep through my two alarm clock radios and a kitchen timer. Well, yesterday, it was the latter, and it was not pleasant! Annoying, too, as yesterday's Count is my favourite Count.

All three photos posted this morning, 31 December 2016, were taken two days ago, when three of us took part in the annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count for the Cochrane Wildlife Reserve area. I'm not sure why it's called a Wildlife Reserve, as it consists of backroads and farms just like on our other Counts. Only three of us went two days ago, travelling in just one car, and the area we covered was east of Highway 22/Cowboy Trail (across from the Water Valley area).

This is one of the Llamas seen at one of the farms we called in at during our coverage two days ago. This farmer has several of these large, amusing animals, and they are always one of the highlights of this Count for me. Unfortunately, it was very overcast when we were there, so this was taken in poor light. There was so much snow on the long driveway that led to the house, that we were unable to drive up, so we decided to walk. Actually, several of the backroads were in bad condition and I was expecting us to get stuck, which fortunately didn't happen. A huge bag of gravel and a snow shovel were in the back of the vehicle, just in case.

"Llamas appear to have originated from the central plains of North America about 40 million years ago. They migrated to South America and Asia about 3 million years ago. By the end of the last ice age (10,000–12,000 years ago) camelids were extinct in North America. As of 2007, there were over 7 million llamas and alpacas in South America and, due to importation from South America in the late 20th century, there are now over 100,000 llamas and 6,500–7,000 alpacas in the US and Canada." From Wikipedia.

Another of my favourite farms to stop at has a beautiful, old dog named Fang, along with beautiful cats, and I always look forward to seeing them each year. The neighbouring farm, which is also included in our area, has two beautiful old, red barns and I was longing to see these again. Unfortunately, we drove in past them, but didn't stop. A bit further in, we did get out of the car while our leader tried to find someone to ask permission for us to get out and look for birds. No one could be found, but it gave me the chance to take two rapid shots through the trees of the second barn, from a side view, which I had never seen before.

So, it was a very enjoyable day, though there were not all that many species or individual birds to be seen. Many thanks, Andrew, for driving our leader and myself. You did a great job of handling the roads that had not been cleared of snow. I will add a list of the bird species seen, in a comment box below.

I travel to France, Paris from today until Monday 14th July.

Floating with the stars

A diamond lost in heaven

As long as I got you i am high on my heart

You make me feel so high

I don't know what i'm doing

You make me feel so high

I don't know right from ruin

Folding on itself

Moments last forever

Am I wide awake

Is it body or spell

Your touch

.I think I like my Pique head sculpt best for this body! Many of the other heads I have seem too small! I took a ton of photos that I will post but not all at once!

Mr. Julian is over 80 years old. He still runs his farm, even getting up in his barn and tossing down bales of hay. He also takes care of his Wife who is unable to get around much anymore. We only really see her during the summer months. Him and her- and their dogs, sitting out on a porch swing admiring their ranch. I knew he must have been a good man when I saw he has all Fords, and a blue tractor. My Grandfather who was a Rancher always had Fords and owned a blue tractor. My Grandfather was and is one of my greatest role models.

Back to Mr. Julian. He even barters! He traded me 12 of our fresh eggs for one of his bales of hay. I think I won him over because today he stopped me in the road on his tractor and said, “Next time you come with eggs, I would like you to meet my Wife.” I told him, “I would love to.” Oh to be his age and to be able to still do what you love. We can only hope.
