Taken last spring when we were in Colonial Williamsburg with Brownie Hawkeye Camera. Sometimes this is result when you use old cameras. Film is grossly over exposed and lens is in upside down.

This image is chosen as my "first photo" of 2006 for flickr today. I had a rough night last night with a virus and a broken toe to keep me both company and awake late. But such a joy this morning to go out into my urban backyard and find so much beauty. Did I ever mention how much I enjoy having this little Point and Shoot Minolta DiMAGE x1?

I like to drive. Sometimes I see strange things. Sometimes they frighten me. Sometimes they confuse me. But I keep driving.....keep moving. Lola was often in the car with me, ever alert, always vigilant to roadside hazards....

I wish …. but we should be happy with what we have . Take a look at couple of my good friends :

Bob aka westrock-bob and Peggy ( ps she is originally from Trinidad ) - they photographed frost … not just ordinary frost but radiation frost known as hoar frost.

BTW my image is from the entrance to the port of Ajaccio in Corsica . Can you imagine one little guy left that island ( that city ) to start bunch of wars and … introduced metric system ( bet you didn't know that )

Mark of Falworth has fond memories of the annual New Year's ball at the Palace of Lorean. Before the ascension of the evil Queen Galainir, it was a tradition of the Princes of Loreos to hold a fête in anticipation of the new season.

Anyone who was anyone was to be there, dressed in their very best. The Prince was usually in excellent humor during the festivities, happily reminiscing the glorious feats of his knights and armies.

It was a time to remember great events, battles, brave deeds and glorious conquests of times past. But it was also a time to look forward to what adventures and daring exploits the future held. Little did Mark realize how much the world, and his life, would change in the next year...

My entry to my LCC Brawl vs. colobustaco.

Since Mark is in desperate straits in the depths of the shade I thought something from the past would make more sense for the category of New Year's celebration, Roawia-style!

TFVAHAGD! ;)

I wish my living room , would always look like this...no papers & books...just empty & clean,lol

Happy Thanksgiving....enjoy

Raining day and i was sitting outside at the spec store, one of my friend shot this pic of me when i was thinking...

Tuscany is a region in central Italy with an area of about 23,000 square kilometres (8,900 sq mi) and a population of about 3.8 million inhabitants (2013). The regional capital is Florence (Firenze).

Tuscany is known for its landscapes, traditions, history, artistic legacy and its influence on high culture. It is regarded as the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance and has been home to many figures influential in the history of art and science, and contains well-known museums such as the Uffizi and the Pitti Palace.

Tuscany produces wines, including Chianti, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Morellino di Scansano and Brunello di Montalcino. Having a strong linguistic and cultural identity, it is sometimes considered "a nation within a nation".

Seven Tuscan localities have been designated World Heritage Sites: the historic centre of Florence (1982); the historical centre of Siena (1995); the square of the Cathedral of Pisa (1987); the historical centre of San Gimignano (1990); the historical centre of Pienza (1996); the Val d'Orcia (2004), and Medici Villas and Gardens (2013).

I returned to Tuscany after several years during a prolonged August weekend to explore famous hilltop settlements and enjoy Chianti & Montepulciano red wines.

The rolling landscape of Val d’Orcia offers endless possibilities of finding a perfect view, fine scene, and beautiful atmosphere.

Here, the picture-postcard scene of Podere I Cipressini house with the famous Cypress trees in the heart of the Tuscany, near Pienza, is shown.

I can't promise this will be the last "placed leaf/running water" shot..ha! The title comes from a comment in my last photo and my fellow Canadian contacts should be able to get it.

I am posting this as part of Mental Health Week, as I take seriously those who suffer with mental health issues, and need our help, support and guidance to get through each day in life. I hope anyone seeing and reading this seeks the appropriate help to find away to live and enjoy their life.

I've spent the afternoon archive surfing again and uncovered this....

To tell you the truth, I am surprised I made it this far. I am not having fun MAKING myself take photos on days I'm already stressed out from life and my business. Sometimes a person has just gotta sit on their rump and not try to be creative after I've had to be creative all day for work. Soooo, its not fun anymore so what's the point really. Plus, although I've hardly mastered my lighting, its definitely improved I think, so that was my ultimate goal. I do hope to post regularly though! Just not every single day :) For those of you who have followed me daily, you have been sooooo awesome as contacts, I hope you keep me on! Thanks for all the encouragement.

It was my good friend, Tami's, birthday, she spent the weekend with me. We had SUCH fun making these photos. We've known each other since high school, she'll do most anything in the world in the name of fun! ♥ her! I must have taken about 50 photos!

The backgrounds were images from Google finds and composites sometimes of more than one image to make the background and "treat" it so the photo and it kind of went together.

and a whole lot of fun. She must have smoked 5 cigarettes, LOL.

I've shot this underground garage a number of times during the day, but when I put them up on the monitor they are MEH! Those shots were taken during the day.

I passed by in the early evening, looked a bit different so I shot it again with several metering points, picked 2 out about 30 hots . . . added a little Lightroom to help me interpret the scene, and this is what I got.

Funny how over time or in different conditions scenes you have walked past or photographed unsuccessfully in the past, suddenly pop-up in a new configuration .

I'm pretty sure there's something Jungian re my fascination about scenes like this . . . 🤔

macromonday: the theme for this week is "when i was a child....." got a couple of possibilities but probably my fave is the cat :)

I absolutely didn't mean it to come out this way, but now it reminds me of Garbage's video to "Milk"...

I was on my way to shoot a photo of an old barn. This tree was calling out my name….."Jeff come photograph me". So, I had to obey.

Hey everybody! I have been away for about 2ish years now and finally have the entusiasm to make a come back. A lot of stuff has happened and thats why I left but I'm back now and already working on more mocs! Excpect more from me very soon.

...with measurements first. I do some moderate research via wikipedia/blueprint and add the math prior to any build. Then it has proven helpful to me to have a lil "shape" model to check size relations - and imangine to carve the build out of the "shape" somehow. Pretty much any file is heavily polluted with parts lying around anywhere at some point^^, yet always moving the build next to the "shape" helps me stay in the limit and not get carried away;)

How do you start your builds? Do you orientate on certain "extra" structures during the process?

I would very much like to read the story from anyone who tags me into his pics or replies

to this one here :)

Note:

Claudiney is one among 15.000 lost children still roaming the streets of São Paulo.

It is in deepest regret and sadness that I inform you of Roney's cold-blooded murder on the early morning hours of January 15th. May he find peace wherever his journey has taken him.......

IMPORTANT NOTE:

On June 27th. we also lost our beloved Claudiney.

The magic of Photoshop!

I wanted to share this image after processing in PS5 to give you an indication of how PS can transform a rather drab image into something commercially viable. Often i take images on the spur of the moment and the background is not ideal or i don't have the necessary lighting equipment along. This happens frequently when around children, they will do things as they play and explore and suddenly i see the potential of the image.

This shot of Kiara was taken in Tsumeb at easter in her grandmother's art studio (original below) - i loved that big eye but everything else did nothing for me. I did however process a black and white version for the black and white lovers, which i also like.

For those interested: I created a new background with backlighting and inserted it behind the original image which i had masked. I used hair brushes which i had created from my own hair to add flow to the left side of the head. Some other tricks like dodge and burn, selective coloring and so forth also happened. :)

I went to our local used bookstore to ask if they had any books they throw away or send for recycling and would they be willing to let me have them. The lady was so sweet and said she would have a box for me on Tuesday. So I made this to give to her when I go pick them up. I am posting here to get some feedback on the piece. I feel like it may need something but I can't figure it out. I had a piece of corrugated cardboard under the heart but I wanted the see more of the book text. It is also sprayed with glimmer mist that you can't see it in the pic.

I put this red cushion in my living room "studio", and it's always JUNE who ends up sitting there. Sooooooo, I quickly turned on my lights and was even able to put this bow tie on her without her jumping down! She is a most cooperative model!

Santa Maria del Rosario (English: St Mary of the Rosary), commonly known as I Gesuati, is an 18th century Dominican church in the Sestiere of Dorsoduro, on the Giudecca canal in Venice. The church and almost all its sculpture and paintings were created within the same thirty year period. Construction began in 1725, the church was consecrated in 1743, and the last sculptural decoration was in place by 1755.
