Stanford Medicine is delighted to host the 9th Sino-U.S. Symposium on Medicine in the 21st Century, and we would like to extend our deepest appreciation to our partner institutions: the Salk Institute of Biological Studies, Ruijing Hospital, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.
In the United States and China, we face similar challenges in medicine and health care. Among them are increasing the translation of medical research into practical benefits for patients, containing health care costs while expanding access, and providing new care delivery models for our aging populations and the growing incidence of chronic conditions. Each year, the Sino-U.S. Symposium brings together leading researchers, clinicians, and policy makers from China and the United States to discuss these common challenges.
This year, the theme of the symposium is big data in health care. Through panels, keynote speakers, and breakout sessions we will exchange ideas and share insights about how best to use large-scale computing and data analysis to improve human health. It is our hope that this gathering will also help us develop the partnerships and collaborations we will need to put these ideas to work.

The Regent's International School, Bangkok hosted their very own TEDx event in March 2016. Six fantastic student speakers and two inspiring guest speakers, Khun Noom and Khun Lukgolf, took to the stage.
What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organised events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxYouth@RegentsSchool, where x = independently organised TED event.
At our TEDxYouth@RegentsSchool event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combined to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organised.

The square hosts Flora Fountain and was known by that name until 1960. It was officially renamed in 1960 in memory of the members of Samyukta Maharashtra Samiti, who lost their lives when police fired upon their peaceful demonstration. A statue of a "Martyr with a Flame" stands next to Flora Fountain.

Sembla que l'edifici primitiu fou bastit el 1897 per Josep Elias i Peix, per tal de moldre guix i ciment. El 1936 Antoni Riba i Piqué hi instal·là alguns telers, però l'inici de la guerra civil de 1936-1939 impedí la seva posada en funcionament. El 1945 Josep Ballús i Cots reactivà la mòlta de ciment i, el mateix any, mossèn Josep Viladot i Sala començà a produir-hi energia elèctrica. Aleshores es passà a denominar Molí de l'Estret. El 1949 es paral·litzà la producció de fluïd elèctric, que alimentava els xalets de la baga de Queralt, i es reconstruí completament, batejant-se amb el nom d'Hostal del Guiu. Fins a 1965 es va autoproveir de llum.
L'edifici actual manté pocs elements originals. És un edifici de planta baixa, on es solapen tres plantes superiors i unes golfes, cobert per una teulada a doble vessant i un sobrealçat decoratiu als flancs de la teulada. Els únics elements singulars són les finestres amb volta de mig punt a la tercera planta. La instal·lació del salt està completament desapareguda, només en queda una petita resclosa, el canal i l'embassament amb el regant.
